Looking for some easier songs to play on 7 string/baritone

Bought a baritone a couple of weeks ago for playing other kinds of music and I've been slowly getting into playing metal, does anyone have any recommendations for drop-A/B-standard tunings that would be viable for someone who's a little new to metal? My left hand is fine but I'm still adjusting to fast picking etc in the right hand etc.

Apologies for the noobish question.

How do y'all record your Spark for studio recording?

Recently got the Spark 40 and found some incredible tones and I want to get them into some mixes but I'm a little at a loss for mic-positioning etc. Usually an SM57 or two on the center and edge but I'm not getting a lot of clarity at lower volumes.

What mics have other people been using? or am I better off just sending the headphone out to the interface?

I'm fucking done. This should be illegal.

Was just about to win an auction for a reasonable price and the seller cancels it at the last minute to sell the tapes for FOUR TIMES THE PRICE. £260 FOR CASSETTES.

I hate being an mcr fan sometimes.

I've got such a good idea...😈

Grabbed the new Paranormal series baritone JM last week and I've fallen in love. My only hangup was the pickups, the humbuckers sounded good, but to me jazzmasters (and baritones in general) sound best with p90s. Because I don't just play metal but also don't want to have to buy two guitars I've had no idea whether I wanted to switch to p90s or risk coil splitting some humbuckers with mixed results.

Enter the Seymour Duncan triple shots, a single coil rail, a p90 and a humbucker in one pickup. This thing is going to be an absolute tone monster.

Anyone got any experience with these pickups etc? any reason for me to not pull the trigger?

Anyone elses snakebites get irritated/swollen for a few days after changing?

This happens to me every time I change out jewelry, no matter whether its a ring or a labret I always get a few days of one of them swelling, hurting, and then just going away when it feels like it.

Nothing besides swelling and minor pain when it gets knocked, no redness, discharge or warmth to it. I know it's most likely just irritated (I'll see a doctor if I think its getting worse after a day or so) but I was wondering if this happened to anyone else?

Why the 638?

New here! I have my first baritone arriving soon (the new paranormal jazzmaster in oxblood) and came across this sub and as someone who does guitar customisation for myself a lot I'm intrigued, is there a reason why there's a whole sub dedicated to this? (not complaining, I love niches like this and seeing some of your customs makes me want to pick up a cheaper baritone to mess around with).

Just started stretching, just double checking, it's these that I want in my ear, and not the tapers, right?

(I couldn't get a close up picture, apologies for quality they're v small)

I'm sorry to be posting such a noob question, I did read the sub guide, I know tapers shouldn't be left in the ears, the kit that I got had the tapers and plugs all in bags according to size and these were what were in the smallest size bag, so I just want to double check if these are what I need to be wearing.

I just keep finding a lot of conflicting info and I'm confused.

Help! I can't decide between a 7-string and a baritone.

So I want to be able to play in lower tunings for rhythm, but I'm torn between getting a Harley Benton 7-string and putting some Fishman humbuckers in it, or getting the telecaster although it has single coils.

Gripping a pick 'properly' kills my hands, holding it like James Hetfield is the only techniue that doesn't hurt, is this just me?

I should preface this by saying I do have chronic fatigue and it's likely this is what causes pain, I grew up picking with the thumb and first two fingers but was told to stop and try picking 'properly'.

Ever since starting to pick 'properly' my technique is awful, my thumb starts to kill and it's like I'm getting worse, is it just me??

(Obviously it's not just me, considering it was popularised by hetfield, ykwim)

Edit: thanks guys, this was super encouraging and helpful <3

Old Morphy Richards slow cooker making a faint buzzing noise on high, but not on low or medium, should I be concerned?

I've been making bread pretty much non stop the last couple of days and when I came to check on what I was making earlier I noticed a small buzzing sound, almost like a vibration, it went away and came back a few times so I'm not sure what to make of this because I haven't heard this sound before (but I don't exactly wait by the slow cooker either, so)

Any advice would be appreciated, not sure whether I should freeze this dough and wait until I can get a new slow cooker.

Seeing My Chemical Romance next month, what ear protection is everyone using?

I need a recommendation for hearing protection for the show next month, has anyone here had any success? I'm talking about plugs that maintain clarity while reducing db by 15-25?

If anyone has recommendations for stuff they've used and had good luck with please lmk, my ears say thanks in advance.

Thinking about getting the EWI 5000 as my first wind synth, have the battery problems been solved?

Apologies for the noob question, i dont want to leave a basic ass "should i get x" post and more just ask if anyone using the 5000 today still has the same issues with the battery dying and needing replacing fully after a couple of months etc.

Also if it's not fixed and really isn't a good windsynth then alternative recommendations are welcome, I'm new to wind instruments and just want a windsynth as I already have experience with synths (hence looking at the 5000 for the midi connectivity) and I live in an apartment and want something silent that I can play with headphones on.

How do I stop players joining my server with mods/see what mods they're joining with?

I've been running a server for a few weeks now and it's been running like a dream, however a couple of my players insist on joining with mods. They tell me that traders crash for them, that they have random crashes too - but this isn't happening for the other 60 percent of the players who aren't playing with mods. Not a single crash has been reported by any of the players, nor does anything show in my server logs.

Since VS doesn't deny players who join with mods like Minecraft does, is there any way I can do this myself? or at least see if/what mods are installed on the players end? I only speak Minecraft, so I'm still learning all of VS' differences when it comes to running a server and honestly I'm tired of asking people to try uninstalling mods or sending me logs when they crash.

Can you put citrus fruit into a jam mixture?

Sorry for the noob post, new to this sub & tired of never seeing any nice jams for a reasonable price and just wanna make my own.

For one reason or another I cannot find anyone using non-citrus and citrus fruit together, I know that jams made from citrus are marmalades, but could I use something like a blood orange in a cherry jam for instance? Just not sure if nobody's doing it because it's impossible or just a bad idea lol.

Also, is there any fruit/vegetable that can't be 'jammed'?

Advice for a Welsh girl cursed with an english accent travelling to Ireland?

My partner and I are planning to go to Ireland sometime later in the year, she's Irish, I'm Welsh, both of us have been cursed with living in this ffycin twll cachu Lloegr Country long enough to have had our accents tarnished by the Saesneg.

How friendly is Ireland to outsiders? For the record I have no reason to expect anything overly negative, I'm just the anxious type and haven't really been lucky enough to go anywhere besides Wales or England and would honestly be mortified if I turned up in someone else's home land and make some kind of social faux pas or say the wrong thing (especially somewhere so beautiful, i couldn't give a shit who i offend here lol).

Apologies if it sounds like I'm describing going to an alien planet lol, I get nervous going to new cities so I want to make sure I don't in any way cause offense or overstay my welcome (I don't plan on doing anything that would be offensive I'm just super autistic and would appreciate any advice on 'fitting in' so I don't bother anybody).

Diolch yn fawr!
