Xavier Becerra as AG took $650,000+ in reelection bribes to end transparency in police brutality investigations and threaten UC Berkeley journalists with imprisonment. Now he fights for Chevron and PG&E. Do you want him as governor?

For getting into top international relations master’s programs in the US or Europe, should I go to Colby College or American University SIS for undergrad?

Top schools would be Johns Hopkins SAIS, LSE, Sciences Po, Geneva grad institute, Yale Jackson school, etc.

AU is in DC, and I could even intern for congressmen. It is top ranked in international relations, but it is not a super traditionally prestigious school — for reference, its acceptance rate is around 66% or so, I believe. AU school of international service is quite well known in my field, however.

Colby College, in Maine, is an elite liberal arts college. It has a very robust global studies program even with study abroad in Europe, and I could get internships still with the January plan they have, but less likely in DC, and much shorter instead of for the whole year. It is, however, very selective and prestigious with like a 7% acceptance rate — around a tenth of AU’s.

I am very attracted to Colby’s small size and very intellectual student body, which I think is the kind of environment I can really thrive in.
American Uni being in DC, even if the swamp weather sucks, is a very significant factor because I could intern in DC and network a lot. Colby College Davis Connects would still let me get top networking though, but though Colby and not be being directly in DC.

I would imagine that AU is far better known to European master’s programs than Colby College, but, again, it is not a difficult school to get into, nor is it traditionally prestigious.

The cost is around the same for both, and money is not a significant issue for me since my family can help and it isn’t a big problem.

What do you think of this speech by President Truman?

“Give ‘em hell, Harry”

“I don’t give them hell. I just tell the truth about them, and they think it’s hell.”

When can we expect to hear about waitlist?

I’ve been doing my best to demonstrate a lot of clear interest but I’m obviously still nervous about getting in or not — is there any kind of timeframe I can realistically expect?

Trump supporters, who is the one democrat you would’ve voted for over Trump and why?

Any of all times Trump ran, who is the one democrat (or more) you would’ve voted for over him, and why?

Colby College or American University SIS?

For international relations, and I definitely want to pursue a master’s — either domestically or in Europe like LSE, Sciences Po, Geneva Grad institute.

I am also attracted to the smaller and more tight knit feel of liberal arts colleges. AU is directly in DC so I can get great internships, and is more known around the world for its school of international service (SIS)

Edit: cost is the same and not an issue for me

How useful is a congressional internship during undergrad?

For getting into master’s program in USA/Europe. I’m probably most interested in private sector

How important are high school grades if you transfer after the first year?

I didn’t do perfectly in high school — I did do well junior year, but senior year was definitely a big slip for me on account of my dad getting laid off.

Even if I do extremely well in college, will first year transferring be weighed down by my high school grades?

I just sent a second waitlist update. Are they likely to see it?

When I was put on the waitlist, I just gave a quick two sentence or so update confirming my interest.
A week later, when I realized it needed to be more substantive, I wrote an actual full letter including an extracurricular update… and I just realized that I never actually sent it. Well I just sent it now, but is it too late?

I’d really like to get off the waitlist and attend Colby.
