So a couple of weeks ago, JLG pickled Ben twice in the same match. Ben gets pickled quite rarely obviously (edit to add: I don’t remember the exact score. Maybe 11-0, 5-11, 11-0)

Then yesterday, Goins pickled Staksrud in a 11-7, 11-0 win. I looked at Staksrud’s pickling history on picklewave and apparently he’s only been pickled once ever in singles, by Alshon back in 2023.

I really don’t know much about analysis, I’m just a big fan of singles pickleball. But it seems like Goins really plays a game of inches and sometimes they’re an inch out instead of an inch in and he gets in trouble when that happens, but when he’s hitting his shots nobody can stop him. I just don’t know what it is that he is able to deliver these super rare picklings that nobody else seems to do.

Holy crikey. Isn’t there a time limit for how long a player can refuse to continue playing?

Daescu is just mad he’s not able to spread sticky substances all over his paddle anymore. Maybe they should send his paddle to a lab for testing again 🤣

John Lucian Goins pickled Ben Johns in the opening game of their match today. Then as the second game was going on, the commentators and statistician looked through Ben’s record back to the beginning of the PPA in 2021 and found that he has never been pickled in any singles game ever before today.

Ben won the second game something like 11-6, but then Goins pickled him again in the third game. this third game marked the second time Ben has ever been pickled in singles, and it literally happened just about 15 minutes after his first ever pickling.

Also the commentators looked at Ben’s men’s doubles record and found that he has only been pickled in one men’s doubles game ever, and that was Goins with Tyler Loong.

So basically, Goins is the only player who has ever pickled Ben in singles and Goins and Loong the only players who have ever pickled Ben in men’s doubles. Has anybody ever pickled Ben in mixed?

The answer is when it’s not a sandwich. End of discussion. Take a piece of bread put butter on it and then put another piece of bread on top and you have a butter sandwich. But if you take a piece of bread and put butter on top of it and you just leave it like that then that is not a sandwich. And it’s the same whether you put butter, ham, peanut butter, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. We can call it an open face sandwich for lack of an actual name, but it’s not really a sandwich. So that is when a sandwich is not a sandwich.
