Wie wird mehr Kraft bei Schlägen generiert?

Hey Leute,

What would you do in my situation to lower HbA1c?

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to ask what you would do if you were in my situation.

About a month ago, my HbA1c was measured at 7%. Before that, it had been around 6.5%, and at one point I managed to get it down to about 6.0%. I initially thought things were going in the right direction because I had started exercising more consistently.

However, my HbA1c has now increased again to 6.7%, which obviously concerns me.

One thing I also noticed and want to investigate at my next appointment is that I have a low MCV and apparently also low ferritin. I’ve read that iron deficiency can potentially cause HbA1c to appear higher than it actually is. I also have a thalassemia trait, so I’m wondering whether these factors could be affecting the reliability of my HbA1c.

I’m currently paying very close attention to my diet. At the moment, I’m doing one meal a day (OMAD), usually consisting of salad and meat. I also bought a blood glucose meter and have started recording my glucose levels to get a better idea of what is actually happening throughout the day.

I’m also getting around 10,000 steps per day and doing regular strength training.

So far, I’ve managed to lose around 5–6 kg, from approximately 115 kg to 109 kg. I’m determined to continue and hopefully get below 100 kg over the next few months.

My next HbA1c measurement will be in October.

What else would you do in my situation to improve your HbA1c and blood glucose as much as possible?

I’m currently not taking any diabetes medication and would prefer to manage this through lifestyle if possible. I’m willing to put in a lot of effort, but I also want to make sure I’m approaching this intelligently rather than just doing more and more without knowing what actually works.

I’d especially appreciate:

  • practical tips
  • things you wish you had known earlier
  • experiences with lowering HbA1c
  • experiences with low ferritin/iron deficiency and HbA1c
  • experiences with thalassemia and HbA1c accuracy
  • advice on what I should discuss with my doctor

Thanks in advance for any advice or personal experiences.

Best regards!

Skip Powernaps cause of Spikes?

Hi everyone, hope you're doing well.

I wanted to ask whether any of you also try to avoid power naps in the afternoon. I often feel like taking one after lunch or after working out, but I find it difficult to fall asleep with a full stomach.

Even if I skip the nap, I still do an hour of strength training followed by some cardio in the evening.

I've noticed that when I do take a nap, my blood glucose tends to rise slightly while I'm sleeping. Does that have any meaningful effect on blood sugar control, or is it generally nothing to worry about?

I'd be interested to hear about your experiences. Thanks in advance, and I wish everyone a speedy recovery!

- immer alles schriftlich

- am besten nicht mit Kollegen anfreunden

...

Was würdet ihr noch ergänzen?

Beste Grüße

Cheat Meal once per week after remission?

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well.

I wanted to ask how those of you who have successfully reversed your type 2 diabetes handle cheat meals.

Before I developed diabetes, when I was healthy and weighed around 75 kg (165 lbs), I used to eat low-carb and in a calorie deficit during the week. Then, usually on Friday, I'd have a treat to start the weekend with something like a tub of Ben & Jerry's, some chocolate, or another dessert.

I'm wondering what you do after reversing type 2 diabetes. Do you avoid sweets and cheat meals completely, or do you still allow yourself something like one treat meal per week?

What has worked for you? Have you found that an occasional indulgence affects your blood sugar or long-term progress?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences, tips, and what has worked best for you.

Thanks in advance!

What Are Your Biggest Productivity Traps?

hey everyone,

I hope you're all doing well.

I wanted to ask:

What are the biggest traps in your daily life that sabotage your productivity or motivation?

My goal is to eliminate as many things as possible that make me slow or slowly drain my drive and focus.

So far I've already quit:

  • Quit mindless scrolling.
  • Started working on "not touching myself" and cutting out "the films" completely.
  • I'm reducing sugar as much as possible.
  • I'm experimenting with eating only once a day.
  • I read for about an hour every day to improve my concentration and attention span.

I'm wondering if there are other areas I'm overlooking.

What habits, addictions, or distractions have made the biggest difference for you after removing them? What would you optimize next besides procrastination, smartphone use, and sugar?

I'm curious to hear your experiences and ideas.

Greetings from Germany!

I want to Change my Life! Need every Advice you got!

Hi everyone,

I could really use some advice and would love to hear your experiences and success stories.

A little background about me: I used to be very active and did a lot of sports. Unfortunately, I got injured and became much less active over the last five years. During that time, I gained quite a bit of weight, going from about 75 kg (165 lbs) to around 110 kg (242 lbs).

About a year ago, I started exercising again and trying to get my life back on track. However, I also found out that I have high blood pressure. My blood pressure is usually around 140–150/90–100, and I'm currently taking medication for it.

Regarding my blood sugar, my first HbA1c was 6.5%. After making some changes, it dropped to 6.0%, and I thought everything was heading in the right direction. But the last time I checked, it was around 7.0%, which was a real wake-up call.

The good news is that I'm fully committed now. I've already started improving my diet, I'm learning everything I can about nutrition, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I'm also seeing specialists to get everything checked properly, including an eye exam and a cardiology appointment.

At this point, I'm ready to give it 100%. If that means exercising every day, losing weight aggressively, tracking every calorie, or completely changing my lifestyle, I'm willing to do it.

What I'm struggling with mentally is the fear that I've already done permanent damage to my metabolism and health in my mid-30s.

Have any of you been in a similar situation? Have you managed to bring your HbA1c down significantly? Is it realistic to go from around 7.0% all the way down to something like 4.8–5.0% through weight loss, exercise, and lifestyle changes?

I'd really appreciate any advice, experiences, or success stories.

Greetings from Germany, and thanks for reading.

Trainingsprogramm at Home ?

He Guys,

I've been thinking about doing 1 hour of Wing Chun training at home every day and would like some feedback.

My current idea is:

- 15 minutes of forms (Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu, and Biu Jee)

- 15 minutes of straight punches, chain punches, and stepping drills, focusing on explosiveness and forward pressure

- 30 minutes working on a specific technique, reviewing parts of the wooden dummy form, or studying and practicing a concept from videos

My goal is not to obsess over small details or collect hundreds of techniques. I'm more interested in the Pareto principle: what are the 20% of Wing Chun skills and drills that provide 80% of the results?

I'm mainly looking to improve the fundamentals that actually work and build a solid base over time.

For those of you who train Wing Chun on your own, how do you structure your solo practice? What drills, concepts, or exercises would you prioritize if you only had one hour per day?

I have access to a wooden dummy as well.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Social Media And pseudoproducivity!

Hey everyone,

I hope you're all doing well.

I wanted to share something I've noticed after being almost completely free from doomscrolling and social media for about two weeks now.

One thing I've noticed is that I've naturally started replacing those habits with activities that seem to provide a longer-lasting sense of satisfaction. For example, I started playing Magic: The Gathering again and reconnecting with some old friends through gaming.

But the more interesting change is psychological.

Before, I always felt this constant urge to do something. Watch another video, learn another thing, consume more content, stay busy, stay "productive". There was always this sense of urgency and action.

Since cutting out social media, that feeling has changed quite a bit.

Instead of wanting to constantly feed myself more information, videos, and stimulation, I find myself wanting to slow down. Reading a book feels more appealing. Spending time thinking feels more appealing. Even just resting and letting my mind wander feels more natural.

It's hard to describe, but it feels less like "doing more" and more like "going deeper."

At first, this actually felt uncomfortable because I thought I was becoming less productive. But over time, I started questioning whether I was truly productive before.

I've realized that a lot of scrolling creates what I would call a kind of pseudo-productivity. You feel like you're learning, reading, staying informed, and making progress, but in reality you're mostly consuming. There's a feeling of movement without necessarily moving anywhere.

Now I do less, but what I do feels more intentional and meaningful.

Has anyone else experienced something similar after quitting or reducing social media?

I'd be interested to hear your experiences.

Thanks for reading. Cheers!
