What is this meaning of this Thom line?

Knife of Dreams
Mat Selucia and Thom are waylaid in Maderin and after the fight while selucia is tending his wounds Thom says:
“I am an old man, and sometimes I imagine I see things that can’t be, but luckily, I always forget them.

Selucia: “what might you be trying to forget?”

Thom: “I can’t recall.”

What is the meaning of this moment? It seems significant but odd.

Help with crossbow upgrade

I unlocked the upgrade ‘Pull The String’ which states: Hold the fire button to draw the crossbow further for increased damaged and a straighter arc.”

My question is, how do I do it?

When I try to hold the fire button down 1 of 2 things happen. Either I melee cancel the reloading animation, (which is nice), or I reload normally and I am unable to tell the difference.

Is there something I’m doing wrong or not understanding? Any help is much appreciated.

I love this game but there are parts that are a tad confusing lol.

I think I need help?

Hi I’m new to the game and Ive gotten to the boss nightingale and I had no bullets for either of my guns. Am I supposed to melee him to death? Idk just really struggling and jts really frustrating because I love remedy but the camera feels sluggish and oftentimes dodging puts the enemy behind me and I’m dead before I can turn around. Anyhoo any tips and tricks? For a game Ive looked forward to playing for so long it sure isnt giving me any.

How you know a book is great

The feeling and experience of reading a book so many times it just can’t keep up with you. Soon this book must rest. But it is not this day. This day we read. This day we break all bonds of fellowship, and sequester away with our stories.

I know people will be mad at me for putting the book like that but I have 2 more copies of this book that I keep nice with jackets. This is my equivalent of old shoes that are always reliable and you don’t need to take care of. The best shoes.

The veil is still the funniest plot device ever inserted into a story. Or maybe the radial mast because what even was that rip Rohan. Gondor will never call your aid

New reader problem(not serious)

Sibling reading the Cosmere for the first time, and It’s weird and kinda annoying that I have no idea what I learned from the books and what I’ve learned from WOBs 😭😂. Like I don’t even know anymore. What is the gap in knowledge at this point between someone who reads the books and someone who reads the wobs. Anyone else had this realization?
