nightmare blunt rotation

i remember when they (kendall and josh and even janelle) used to be so down to earth, so genuine and just easy to listen to. felt like hanging out with your friends. i feel like they’ve reached this insane level of being so out of touch, who are they even relating to anymore? just wannabe influencers.
i can’t stand haley at alllll. her vibes are BAD. sorry not sorry. mean girl ass energy.

can’t believe i did it

i never thought i could kick this habit. it’s been the worst addiction ive ever had and for the longest time i didn’t even want to quit.
i’m so proud of myself. i used the patches to help me and they really did. i’m a few weeks off the patches but the mindless tapering down of nicotine over multiple weeks has been the best method for me. never ever touching the stuff again. i still have cravings pretty often but im able to sit with them until they pass. haven’t slipped up once.
i’m also 12 days sober from alcohol today, which has been cake compared to zyns. but i’m determined to do this for myself and the people around me. i deserve to be the best version of myself i can be.

N64 will always be the most nostalgic console for me

DK64 was my first N64 game and i’ll never forget how blown away i was by the graphics at the time lol

also loved playing conkers bad fur day when i was way too young for that game

incredibly proud of myself

hasn’t been easy to say the least. i’ve consumed every type of nicotine and pouches have been the hardest to quit by far. i’ve been using patches (please don’t judge) so far it’s the only method that’s actually worked for me. i’m still having some cravings a month in but my anxiety has really simmered down and im getting better sleep. my skin looks better as well. gotta few more weeks on the patch and then i’ll be done for good. never touching the stuff again!

my brother is a monster but sometimes i feel so incredibly guilty for being no contact with him, and sometimes i wish he was dead

i’m 32f and my brother is 36m. he’s been addicted to meth, cocaine, alcohol and whatever else since he was 14-15ish. growing up my mother enabled him so much even though he would punch holes in doors, steal, bring absolute creeps around me when i was very young, and verbally and sometimes physically assault my parents and myself.

i have so many memories of jumping out my two story window despite being terrified of heights. pushing the screen out and jumping into the juniper bushes below, running to the nearby park and calling either the police or my grandmother to pick me up.

living in my house was a nightmare because of him. he was sent to several rehabilitation centers, was constantly in and out of jail, all the normal things for an addict. never got a drivers license (probably for the best) has never had a job yet always expects everyone to let him “borrow” money and offer him services.

he went to prison for 5 years in 2016. the year our father died. i truly think my brother and mom are why my dad essentially drank himself to death and left me to find his body. i loved my dad. he was a soft man and a kind one. he struggled so much with being unable to help my brother and it really killed him inside.
while he was in prison he would give inmates my name, address, give them permission to write me letters, really gross shit. probably in exchange for money.

he’s been nearly killed several times by people and by drugs. several overdoses but none of them fatal. several beatings, nights freezing outside and getting frost bite, getting bit by a brown recluse spider in a crack house, the list goes on.

i have virtually no family besides my estranged mother, my 96 year old grandmother, and him. and it’s very hard cause i never thought this would be my family unit at my age.

he’s still constantly in and out of jail, of rehab, in the streets, in hospitals.
he has drug induced schizophrenia but the state refuses to have him hospitalized. he’s very paranoid. he’s always calling me from random numbers, freaking out that our mother is dead and i need to go find her.
he supposedly has myocarditis from years of IV drug use.

he’s belligerent and horrible when you tell him no. he’s made threats to end my life, he’s smashed up my car, he’s shown up at my workplace high out of his mind demanding i give him money.

he’s harassed my elderly grandmother to the point where we had to install security cameras all over her home.

i’m honestly just anticipating the day i get the call that he’s not around anymore.

i haven’t seen him in person in around 3 years and im thankful for this. he’s been determined to find my new address which is terrifying because one of the main reasons moved out of my home town was to get away from him, though it’s not far.

he’s technically homeless. and has been for years. yet has been given so many opportunities to get clean. he truly doesn’t want to. all he cares about is getting high or drunk. he’s been set up with the best services in our state, so many long term sober living options and has squandered all of them.

i’m kinda just speaking into the void here. it’s a lonely kind of pain that no one in my life really understands.
finding this sub has helped a lot.

i’m so excited for DK64 yall don’t even know!

i know sooo many people hate the game but donkey kong 64 was the first game i ever played on the nintendo 64 and it holds such a special place in my heart. i’ve been waiting for the nintendo online release for so long despite having the physical copy from my childhood. it’ll be fun to play it handheld and with better graphics!

two years since i lost my skeeter valentine

i miss you so much my sweet girl. i can’t believe it’s been 2 years since you left us. yet everyday, i am reminded of the unconditional love you showed me for so many years, the lessons you taught me, the bond we created that can never be destroyed.
you were and always will be my little soul mate, and i am so grateful for the memories i have to look back on today as i celebrate your life and all the joy and love you brought me for so long. my funny little dog. the most stubborn, spoiled, sweetest little queen in the world. you will be honored forever, immortal in my soul. 💜

i just want to say, to this community: i haven’t posted in a long time since skeeter passed. but i don’t think i could have gotten through the worst of the grief without you guys. the immense outpour of kindness you guys showed me in those first weeks/ months/ year is something i will
never forget. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

also a little update: i adopted a shelter dog last june named yoshi 💕he’s not a shihtzu but he has helped heal my heart in many ways. i truly believe skeeter led me to
him and wanted me to give him the love i had no where to put when she left this earth. she will always be my soulmate but i feel lucky that im able share my life with another dog in need.❤️‍🩹

skeeter valentine forever 🕊️❤️‍🩹🌈
thank you r/shihtzu
