34s no lift and a tune still managed 20.5mpg avg across 200+ miles
5.0. Ran her both ways across the alley and after some tuning in HPTuners for timing among other things and dialing in the dash speedo to match gps she was averaging 20.5mpg. This is zero lift. I’d like to add 2 inches to the front but not convinced yet.
Options for drag timing on private land
I’m hoping you guys can help me figure out a timing system I can use on some private land I have access to. I want to figure out how to time 1/8 mile runs from one point to another without having to invest in permanent infrastructure like a tree and lasers etc. just looking for something to trigger the start and trigger the finish when you cross the eighth. Needs to work for multiple cars running so something like a Dragy won’t work.
Appreciate any help on this.
2019 5.0 p0300 random misfire under 2500 rpms
Just picked this truck up in SD driving her back to FL. She runs good aside from a stumble on the highway under 2500 rpms. Day one I chalked it up to maybe bad fuel so I ran her empty and filled with 93 and an octane booster. Also pulled the intake tube and cleaned the throttle body off which was pretty dirty. No change. Usual situation is the misfire occurs going up hills. If it downshifts enough to get above 2500 the issue goes away. Had enough hills today that it gave me a CEL. Just checked it and got p0300 random misfire.
Got plenty of time to ponder the fix on the ride home. Just want to hear if anyone else has dealt with a similar situation.
If it was a bad coil I’d imagine it wouldn’t be random mis and we could narrow it down to a specific cylinder or cylinder bank.
I find it strange that it clears up completely over 2500 rpms.
Running laps at Homestead International
Took almost two years but here’s some clipped video of the viper running laps at homestead. Any viper content is good content right?
Was digging through old photos and thought ya’ll would enjoy. In the pits at Homestead.
In the pits at Homestead. Running the lightweight track wheels and a roll bar I had made to be allowed on track since there’s no factory rollover protection.
Just swapping wheels from stock, both on r888r, but the lightweights tires were 3 years older, still shaved 1.4 seconds per lap.

[BMW i8] I saw at a Naples car show. The owners head matched the wrap!
Very unique overall. I couldn’t get up close but it looked like a tattoo.
Hadn’t worn this watch in years but as soon as I put it on I remembered why I bought it. She’s a looker.
Bodyguard 2.0 alternative red dots
I wasn’t a fan of the standard dot options for the bodyguard. The Viridian seems cheap, has crap battery life and overall I wasn’t impressed. The pebble isn’t made anymore so I figured I’d try some other options.
1st, I tried the Leupold delta point micro, got the s&w version after 1st attempting with the Glock version. S&w model needed a lot of grinding but eventually got it to work. It’s super low profile but as of now it’s back in the safe. For a carry gun, finding the dot on a 9mm glass is just something that would require more training hours to perfect than I’m willing to invest, at the moment.
Next up, a red dot that is smaller than both the viridian (about a half inch shorter) and the pebble and has significantly better battery life and, I’d wager, durability: the original Swampfox Sentinel. Mounting it requires purchasing the Angry Bear Arms dovetail mount to essentially mount the same as the Viridian.
I was planning on just sticking to irons as that’s what I know but wanted to play around with pistol dots so here we are. So far, pocket carrying with the swampfox dot is no big deal, it comes out of the pocket just as easy as with no dot. The delta point micro was actually more difficult to pull from the pocket due the rear battery tray hanging off the back of the gun.
Gotta show ya some of my past idiocy
This was about 4 years ago in my 2022 450 platinum. Gonna blame myself for my toxic trait of listening to my mom when I absolutely know better. She was convinced I needed to do a 3 pt turn asap to get out of a swamp road, not drive further to a spot I could see and knew gave me room to turn around. Barely off the edge of the track and the mud gave way and whole truck sucked down in the mud. Recovery was a bitch, had the tow truck up on 3 wheels.
What are these sunglasses?
Tried Gemini and chat GPT and neither could seem to figure it out.
Been making Oklahoma Fried Onion Burgers a lot lately
Little gnats swarming in our yard and now our house.
Anyone else in Naples dealing with this right now? These little things keep swarming around our yard and last night I think they found the entrance to our exhaust fan over the stove. They were swarming the kitchen all night. Set out some vinegar and woke up this morning to this thing filled and them dead all over our countertops.
Thought the problem was gone. Then today around 9pm, again, notice they’re swarming the kitchen again all underneath the microwave.
We didn’t have this issue last year and I’ve been in FL my whole life and never seen this before.
I got this old 2 stroke 1960 evinrude 3hp that won’t stop overheating. I changed out the lower unit and put in a new impeller and housing and she’s still overheating. Any help on what to look at next? I know these things are supposed to be dead simple and everything I’ve taken apart appears to be but this has got me stumped.
Gps speedo would be extremely easy to install on a saddle. Seeing realtime mph on the screen like they do for nascar would be awesome.
