just met with my doctor and he wants me to get surgery for my sliding hernia. i’m very afraid of that surgery specifically as i’ve heard some horror stories and odds are NEVER in my favor (i happened to be the 10% of people who get way worse after gallbladder surgery so i’m not very excited for this one)

what were your symptoms before/after? how much did the surgery change your life, if at all? how is sleeping, eating, exercising? what was recovery like (time off, eating habits, immune system stuff? i had horrible hives and pain after my gallbladder removal so i’m probably gonna hurt after this one)

been playing my switch (1) oled a lot more and wanna find some deep cuts or good games that are similar to the ones i like.

i REALLY like games that have good replay-ability, so that’s a big plus. i’m mainly looking for 2D games as i haven’t had the best performance with 3D games (the switch port for date everything SUCKS, and it’s only at the 3D part). if you know a 3D game that works well on switch 1, def lmk!

hello again! been dealing with so much pain recently that’s very similar to PCS (i swear that’s what it is, or it’s just IBS and gastroparesis, but same thing kinda) and was wondering if any of yall had any success with certain over the counter medication?

the one symptom i HATE is the intestinal burning. it doesn’t matter what i eat, it just feels like hot lava down there 24/7. i was just wondering if y’all have any ideas 🙏🙏

i’m almost 5 months post op and a lot of the issues i have are ones others share… except for one. i haven’t seen anyone talk about this much.

i’ve changed my diet to fix the horrible post chol syndrome issues (i’m not great at eating good, but it’s WAY better than what i was doing before surgery) and i’m noticing, even if i use the restroom, i get the WORST urge to pee randomly. but if i go run to the restroom, nothing is there??? it’s horrible cause i’ll just be in the car and get the most UNCOMFORTABLE feeling even though i don’t need to use the restroom. it only lasts like 15 seconds but it happens multiple times a day. does anyone else get this?? is this normal?? gonna ask my doctor about it next i see him.

i’m doing a school project that requires me to do sfx over a scene of my choice (i made a post about it here a while back)

i decided to pick the scene where ramiel shoots the mountain and transforms into that really cool glass flower type thing. i cannot for the LIFE of me find it cause my wifi is ass and i can only find 15 second clips even though i need at least a minute and a half to work with.

is this from the show?? the movie?? the remake? i cannot find it anywhere 😭

i'm currently getting an associates degree in sound engineering and am very close to graduating (and will be getting some sort of internship i think?). my school is teaching me practically every single job there is for engineers/musicians/etc and i'm really looking into boom operator work as something i could potentially be interested in. i dont think i can handle holding my arms above my head all day tho. all i know is i HATE pro tools and dont want to touch a computer.

did y'all have to go to film school? any degrees you were required to get? any tips to get into it? or any other jobs you think would be fun?

i just have to clue where to go with my career and would love some insight :)

idk if this is related to me being post op for over 3 months but recently i’m CRAVING protein almost 24/7. i’m constantly eating any kind of meat snack, food, etc. that has protein cause instead of my body telling me “oh, you’re hungry, you should eat something!” it’s instead screaming “YOU NEED PROTEIN!!! MORE PROTEIN!!”

is this normal??? is it because i’m digesting things a little faster? i feel like i’m going crazy

i’ve been doing tests for months, had surgeries, and done so much to try and figure out an attack pain i’ve had and nothing fixed it. just was wondering if anyone here has this pain…

it comes on with no pattern that i can discern. it feels like a blooming pain that starts around my stomach (i don’t have ulcers, i checked) that turns into a heart attack type pressure with SEVERE pain. it gets kinda hard to take deep breaths in (i think this is just due to pain, i don’t have any issues with my lungs) and i get the worst back pain. i do not know of any other way to describe it, but it’s a 10/10 on the pain scale. one of the WORST things i have experienced. i get it either multiple times a day, once a week, or even once every two weeks. there is no pattern with food or anything else that i know of. it can last anywhere from 10 minutes to multiple hours.

i had my gallbladder removed because my doctor thought that was the cause (it wasn’t, just made everything worse), i have GERD (doesnt seem like that’s the pain either), fatty liver (it’s VERY mild), stomach inflammation, and severe mast cell complications because of my gallbladder removal. my doctor did find that i had a medium sized hiatal hernia, and i was wondering… could the pain possibly be from the hernia shoving itself up and down through my diaphragm? obviously, i brought this up to my doctor and we’re doing tests, but i’m REALLY trying to avoid doing hernia surgery cause i hear it’s a nightmare and was just wondering if anyone else felt this exact pain or something similar.

tl;dr: severe pain in chest around stomach area, already ruled out other factors. can a sliding hernia hurt when it moves? has anyone felt this way?

so sorry for the long post. i’m so insanely tired of this chronic pain and just want to see if i’m alone in this or not.

i moved into a new house and have a completely blank slate to work off of in my bedroom. i already have furniture in mind, plants, etc, but wanted to know if yall have any fave items (just decor or actual useful items) that you like having in your space? i have a few ideas but i'm tryna find items to make my room feel cool and cozy. yesss it's consumerism at its finest but i just love little trinkets like cute clocks and random things that i can use every now and again.

i’m going to college for audio production and my final project for one of my classes is to record my own dialogue, foley, sfx, music, etc over a scene of my choice.

i was thinking about what i wanted to do and i’m very tempted to choose neon genesis evangelion/the end of evangelion. i’ve watched the anime (still have yet to see the movie!) and was wondering what scenes were y’alls favorite that would be fun to record over? it can be a quiet or loud scene, i don’t mind. i just really wanna record some mechanical stuff cause i think that’d be cool. thanks guys!
