What flash attachment would work best for an Olympustrip35 for indoor photography?

Looking to shoot portrait(esc) photos inside with dimmer lighting like coffee shop vibes. What affordable flash option would do this for me and also be compatible with this camera?

Update: I got the im20 mini and unpacking it my automatic thoughts are that it might be too small/minimal. Any thoughts??

Advice for asking to shoot photos on someone’s property

Hi!! (26f) here. I just bought a new film camera and want to use up a trail roll just to get used to the new setup. How strange would it be to call a ranch or farm in the morning and ask if I could come take some photos? I’m a bit of an introvert and not from here so I feel awkward and uncertain but lord some of these properties are so stunning and I’d love to have some photos for keepsakes of my time here and would also love to gift them back to the owners as a thank you if they allow me to :,) any thoughts or advice?? Thank you!

New camera/wanting to practice

I just ordered an Olympus Trip35 and i’m so excited to start taking photos again (I used a Nikon Fe2 previously). I’m quite happy there is hardly a learning curve with using the Olympus in comparison to the other because I am no professional. With that being said, I am temporarily living in BFE Texas and have no social life leading me to the question of what I want to shoot.
After some thought and also wanting to use a roll within a day and get it developed to make sure it even works properly, would it be weird to ask a local ranch or farm if I could come take some pictures for the day? If the photos turn out, I could send them the digitals as a thank you??
I’m pretty introverted out here and would like some feedback on this idea before sending it and embarrassing myself. 😂🥲 Thanks in advance for any advice (if you have any about shooting with this camera too!)

Mommy issues

My mom is a bodybuilder and, in my opinion, struggles with orthorexic tendencies. She’s extremely disciplined about her nutrition and appearance, and I genuinely admire the dedication she has to her health. She’s beautiful, works hard, and takes pride in herself.
The difficult part is that I’ve spent my entire life craving her approval. I’m 26 years old and still catch myself wanting validation from the person who has consistently made me feel the most insecure. I won’t get into my childhood in detail, but while there were good moments, it was also emotionally and mentally abusive in ways that are much clearer to me now.
As an adult, I think I have a healthy relationship with fitness. I enjoy being active, was an athlete growing up, hike, go to the gym, and genuinely want to stay lean and strong as my body changes with age. But whenever I share that part of my life with my mom, I leave feeling embarrassed instead of encouraged.
Nothing I do is ever “right.” If I mention a workout, she dismisses it. If I make a healthy dessert or share progress I’m proud of, she’ll laugh, make sarcastic comments like “wow, look at those huge muscles,” or call my food “interesting.” If I eat tacos or Mexican food once in a while, she’ll make indirect comments about how people don’t care what they put into their bodies and that’s why they never look good. When I share something new I’ve learned about fitness or nutrition, she’ll make comments about how “everyone wants to be a personal trainer or influencer,” as if she’s mocking me rather than supporting me.
What hurts even more is learning that she often criticizes me after we get off the phone. Recently she told my siblings and fiancé that I only posted an Instagram story because I wanted attention and validation. Another time she complained because I said I wasn’t interested in taking peptides.
I know my mom is deeply insecure. She constantly criticizes other women, talks about plastic surgery and injectables despite having had both herself, complains about fake people on social media while presenting an unrealistic version of her own life, and is always worried about her much younger fiancé looking at other women.
As awful as it feels to admit, I sometimes wonder if she sees me as competition rather than as her daughter. Even writing that feels wrong, but it’s a pattern I’ve struggled to ignore. My dad has even told me that he believes she’s always viewed me that way—that she’s competed with me instead of supporting me.
Looking back, there were signs. She publicly humiliated me for anxiety-related coping behaviors when I was young. There were days I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup because she was feeling insecure herself. More recently, when I asked her to help me build a macro plan as a way to bond over something she loves, she refused, telling me I didn’t have the discipline to succeed before I even had the chance to try.
The hardest part is the inconsistency. Occasionally she’ll seem like the most loving, proud, supportive mom, and I want so badly to believe that’s who she truly is. But those moments are overshadowed by the criticism, ridicule, and constant feeling that she wants me to stay small.
I have a wonderful life. I have a supportive partner, a great relationship with my dad, and I genuinely care about my health without becoming obsessive. Yet my mom still leaves me feeling incapable, ashamed, and embarrassed. Knowing that she speaks negatively about me to my family and her fiancé hurts deeply, and it’s embarrassing.
What’s most validating is that I’m not the only one who sees it. My friends have noticed this dynamic for years and have always hated the way she treats me. It isn’t just in my head. I think, more than anything, I’m grieving the relationship I’ve always wished I had with my mom.

Symmetrical rash on both forearms. Unsure what it is or what it’s from

I was trying to do the “peacock” yoga pose? Failed miserably. Showed up the day after I think so possible “rug” burn? Other than that, I use the tanning bed sometimes and also use sun in on my arm hairs when outside?? Antifungals didn’t do anything, cortisone cream helped the itching and calamine dried the blisters (they peeled off) and now there’s just the pink patches. Been here for almost 3 weeks and is not going away. It looks like there is weird bruising in a pattern? Idk, thoughts?

Partner struggling

My boyfriend works a very physically demanding job so he is utterly exhausted every day when he comes home and every night for a few weeks, every few months, he develops what I think are cluster headaches.

12:30 am for the past 2 weeks he is up with a runny nose and watery eye, booking it to the front room to spam pushups, take Excedrin and put an ice pack on his neck and face. It’s heartbreaking. A doctor’s appointment is in the works but he works M-S 99% of the time and will not let himself miss. Hopefully we can get in this weekend as none of the tele-health sites we’ve tried are able to help him over the phone.

Some questions

  1. is there any sites we don’t know about that actually can help without a prior diagnosis? Preventative medication along with immediate relief medication would be epic.

  2. what are some off the wall home remedies he can try that he isn’t already doing?

  3. how can I as a partner support him better through this? Is there anything I can physically do to bring him any relief? Pressure points, certain massages, food, drinks??? Anything.

Thanks in advance if anyone is willing to share. Desperate over here!

In need of smaller fishing spots

Is there any ponds open to the public that aren't the one at that park?? I'm tired of trying to fish the lake from the shore and getting creeped out by being alone in secluded areas. I try and target bass.

Wanting 2 do butt stuff

I f(26) have this weird desire for butt stuff. I want it in both holes :-) Not super experienced and don’t even like a finger when I’m not ravenously turned on but.. if I WERE.. how do I initiate wanting it… in the butt. I almost wish my boyfriend had more of a kink or desire because he stays pretty vanilla despite our sex life being very good and almost always having an orgasm. I also think it would help him not finish as fast. Me initiating the idea turns me off and makes me feel shamefully slutty so how do I subtly make him more interested in pursuing it? is that even a thing?

How do I support my mother?

I (26f) am very close with my mother. I just moved from CA to TX for my partners work shortly after her and her fiancé and my siblings moved to CA for his work.

My mother is a stay at home mom/partner and does everything in the world for this man to be able to function at home so he is able to his best at work. That being the case, her income from her barely part-time, self employed job does not touch a number for bills or a savings account.

It has recently become apparent that her partner is having an affair as she reached out to me in absolute shambles. Not only is she devastated for personal reasons and broken trust and all the other horrible feelings being betrayed in that way brings on, but I have two teenage siblings who have a POS alcoholic biological father across the country who does nothing for them and have never had a true father figure until said fiancé. She is heartbroken for them and is blaming herself for something no one saw coming.

While I do not want her to stay in a relationship she is not respected in, I also am terrified for what is to come if she chooses to leave. I am not established independently and can be of no financial help. She has no living family. She is completely financially dependent on him (save neg comments as she is very aware of how this is affecting her situation) and she is scared for practically everything around her.

How can I be of support? What are the right and wrong things to say? I could move home, stop school for the time being and work full time and find a home with her to rent to help her stay afloat… unless there is another option I’m unaware of. Need help brainstorming.
My mom doesn’t deserve this, no one does. But I want and need to help in some way. So, how?

Weird spot that showed up on thumb and is getting darker

I’ve been out in the sun a lot as you can tell from the blunt difference in skin tone on the outside to inside of thumb. I had a small tender bump/pimple looking think on my knuckle but that came after the rash started. Upon closer inspection there is a few raised bits but it’s not itchy or scaly. Never happened before.

Am I gonna die from throat cancer

One tonsil (left but right in these photos) has been swollen/bigger than the other for as long as I remember. It never hurts. No swollen lymph nodes or weird symptoms. I think the back of my throat is red from me gagging from trying to touch them lmfao. Haylpe
