For those of you who started your Master's abroad around September last year (UK/Europe/US, wherever) it's been almost a year now, so how's it actually going?

Like real talk:

• Was it worth it so far?
• How's the culture shock / homesickness situation?
• Managing money okay or living on maggi and prayers?
• Made friends or mostly solo grinding?
• Any regrets, any "wish someone told me this before I came" moments?

Asking because I'm seriously considering making my life 10x harder and moving abroad too, so I want the unfiltered version, not the LinkedIn highlight reels.

So I picked History and Political Science because I like reading and arguing, not because I thought it through.

Now I'm staring down grad school/job apps in the UK, France, Italy, Austria, and the US, and I keep hearing "you need something extra" without anyone telling me what that something is.

Quick questions for the people who've survived this:

• Worth learning a language (French/German/Italian) or is English fine?
• Any use in learning stats/data stuff, or is that just for people who like spreadsheets?
• Internship > extra classes, or both?
• What actually got YOU hired/admitted with a similar degree?

Not trying to reinvent myself, just trying to not be "generically smart but unemployable" by graduation. Send tips, roast me if needed.

I'm looking at doing a Master's in the UK leaning toward Business Analytics, International Business, or Supply Chain & Logistics. I'd be funding this mostly through a loan, so I want real talk, not brochure talk.

One big thing: I don't have any real work experience yet. So part of what I'm trying to figure out is whether I should get a job first (even a basic one) before going abroad, or just go straight into the Master's now.

my_qualifications is bachelors of art in history and political science.

A few things I'm trying to figure out:

• Does going in with zero experience hurt me a lot for admissions, for placements, for hiring after?
• Should I try to get even 1-2 years of experience first, or does that not really matter for these programs
• For those who took loans for this was it worth it, especially if you went in without experience? Any regrets?

Not looking for "just work hard and it'll be fine" I want to know if this is a smart financial move or if I'm about to sign up for years of debt with no real return. Appreciate any honesty, good or bad

There’s an injured cow in our colony. We’re not sure if she’s injured or suffering from some illness, but one of her legs is not working properly and she’s having trouble walking.

I think I may have unintentionally complicated things a bit, and now I’m overthinking the situation.

I started talking to a guy I felt attracted to. He told me he had been in a serious relationship before and that they were even planning to get married, but it didn’t work out. He mentioned the girl’s first name to me, though he used a fake surname.

Later, a girl with the same first name but a different surname started following me and interacting with my posts. I didn’t think much of it at first, but then I noticed she had mutual connections related to him, which made me suspicious that she might actually be his ex.

Out of curiosity, I made a Snapchat account. I didn’t want to use my own name, so experimentally I used the girl’s first name the one I suspected might be his ex. Since his account is private, I could suddenly see his profile, and now, about 10 days later, one of his close relatives has tried to add me too.

Now I’m worried he might think I’m pretending to be his ex, or that I’m crossing a line without meaning to.

I genuinely don’t know if I’m doing something wrong here or if I’m just overthinking everything. What should I do now?

And suddenly I saw his snap as his account is private and he starts following 10 days in now his close relative wants to add me,

Am I doing something wrong here?

I am not sure if she is her ex (name) is he thinking if I am her?

I am a female, 23 years old from delhi

Does anyone else feel stuck in this weird loop?

All day I think about what I should be doing getting my life together, learning something new, working on goals, etc. I even feel motivated sometimes and tell myself “okay, today I’ll start.”

But then I get home, sit down “for a bit,” and suddenly hours are gone. I end up scrolling, watching random stuff, or just doing nothing. And the worst part is I’m fully aware of it while it’s happening.

Then I feel guilty, tell myself I’ll fix it tomorrow, and the same thing repeats.

I don’t think it’s just laziness because mentally I want to do better. But my actions don’t match at all.

tbh we’re kinda done trying to find “our people” on here.
like… how many times do you match with someone’s vibe in a post or comment, start thinking “oh this could be a real connection,” and then it just… fades or turns out to be surface-level?

it’s not even about expecting too much. it’s just exhausting when it feels like everyone is temporarily aligned but not actually there.

maybe it’s the nature of this app. maybe it’s us. maybe real connections just don’t happen in threads and DMs the way we hope they will.

either way, we’re tired of forcing it. if the vibe is real, it won’t feel like work.
