I feel like a black Betty Boop 💋

I was really intimidated to get this wig because it’s so different than what I usually wear. But that’s the beauty of wigs - it allowed me to explore a new style and develop confidence in it without making any permanent changes. I really love this wig - it came out the bag with bouncy, beautiful curls (see picture #7) and I wore it out that same day with no manipulation and got tons of compliments. I ended up manipulating it by dying it darker, framing my face with layers, and cutting the lace back a bit. Even through all of that I experienced minimal shedding and the hair kept a beautiful sheen. The wig is also comfortable - no combs or silicon digging into your head and no slipping off either. I recommend this wig to anyone but especially folks who want to explore this style for the first time since there’s no lace to blend.

I’m excited to finally hit mid back length, but I’m not trying to be walking around looking scraggly so these ends have to go. Cast your vote!

I’m leaning toward B - not really because of length retention (though that does matter to me) but because ends are always going to end up breaking and trims will always be necessary, and unless the gaps are egregious (which i don’t think mine are) I think it’s best to take it slow. I cut my hair every 6 months or so, so I know the dead ends will be caught eventually. Thoughts?

I finally bought some light eyeshadow base (Morphe’s solo artist priming cream eyeshadow in color AirPlay) to make my color palette’s pop. Just in time for pride month 🙂‍↕️ I also invested in some About Face holographic eye shadows. Both products are gorgeous but they are hard to work in and spread, and led to my eyes cracking if you look closely. I’m looking forward to testing these again and finding a method to work it better - it’ll probably be putting it on my hand and using a brush instead of applying directly. Let me know if you have experience with these products!

I was happy that this look came out as intended but I have a few ideas for how to improve it next time. One of which is defining my cut crease better by leaving the primer line or tracing the line in gold next time. I also need to invest in a wider range of blushes that pop on my skin tone to tie my looks together more. Any suggestions?

Drop any suggestions/product recommendations for making this look pop! I already know that I want a more vibrant yellow eye shadow, I want my cut creases to look cleaner (but I’m not sure how - do I let the primer line of delineation show a bit?), I’ll add lashes next time and I want an orange-y blush.
