Was erdreistet sich also diese fleischgewordene Sauerstoffverschwendung?

Doch oh schau, was kommt raus?

Hoffentlich wirds weh tun.

Why isn’t Thestalos played more?

I was just experimenting with a Robbin Goblin deck and was wondering, why Thestalos isn’t played more? He is practically always live and yanks hand cards (an effect similiar to Duo and Dustshoot, 2 staples in the format). Even Grandmarg is played in Earth decks and I would consider him the weakest of them all.

So why doesn’t he find more use in the metagame, I remember a few years ago where he even was considered the best monarch.

Just for fun: which retrains/full arts would fit into GOAT?

In light of the newly announced Original Artwork Collection I was wondering:

Which retrains/overframes of cards we already had in GOAT would fit into the format? I started to ask myself this question when I saw the new Gilford the Lightning. An OG card (we strangely never got for GOAT even though he was in the anime way before that) that got some new effects which are not even remotely strong enough for the current meta, but feel not too OP for an older format like GOAT. I also thought about the new Zombyra but he would be way too strong for GOAT.

What other cards do you think would fit the bill?

Ist ein LL.M. an der FU Hagen sinnvoll?

Moin an alle!

Yanky little Zombie deck that I threw together. It somehow works remarkably well despite the many big beaters

I absolutely DESPISE Delinquent Duo. It's the most obnoxious card besides BLS (BLS because it warps the meta so much around it, Duo because its simply annoying) and that's the whole reason this deeck exists in the first place.

There are many cards that can punish Duo, but Despair from the Dark probably is the most devastating one. Getting to summon a 2800/3000 beatstick just because your opponent dared to make you discard cards just feels amazing, even better when he uses Card destruction while you hold 3 of them.

Usually the problem would be that running so many tributes often means dead draws, but Zombies has an amazing way of dealing with it - Call of the Mummy. This allows us to cheat out Kokki or Despair when we can't use them in a situation. To support that I run a copy of Double Coston as well, which also lets us run DMOC.

Spells are your standard Zombie package with 3 Tribute to the doomed, which work amazingly well in this deck due to running so many big Zombies. I ran 3 Call of the Mummy at first, but they bricked too often. 2 is enough.

Traps are as minimal as possible. 3 Decree, RotD and Call because they work well even with Decree and 1x DDV just because this deck profits so much from it.

Ok I promise this is the last deck list for today - Bazoo Return

Yeah turns out I wasn't done thinking about my Earth Aggro deck. When building my last version of it I went over the side deck and decided to just build a version around the Bazoo idea. He is Earth, he banishes like Gigantes and Rock Spirit, so it just naturally flowed into a Return deck.

Lmk what you think and how to improve on it. Haven't really playtested it besides a playing a few duels against rogue/fun decks where it crushed them, but haven't had the chance yet to put it up against meta decks

Preparing for a new Ghost mode run in light of the new update - whats your go to loadout?

Eagerly awaiting the new update, I want to do a new playthrough on Ghost mode. What are your preferred loadouts for it? Favorite weapons, setups for them etc.

I want to play with a friend and we want to roleplay as immersive as possible - one weapon that gets us through the game, like "signature" weapon if you will.

Dark Magician Turbo, because why not

Inspired by my Buster Blader deck attempt and a comment on my last post I tried to build the same deck idea around Skilled Dark Magician.

Skilled Dark is usually a better monster than Skilled White, due to him having 1900ATK and summoning a dark monster through his effect.

The deck is a stripped down Chaos Turbo deck. The core idea is the same as with my Buster Blader deck, so most cards are the same. Difference is, that we run Thunder Dragons in here do get Lights into the graveyard, which in turn allows us to run discard cards in Lightning Vortex and Phoenix Wing Windblast. I usually run Windblast oder Raigeki Break due to wingblast not playing into Chaos by getting monsters in the GY, but feel free to switch it out. Mataza/Lily/Stein are prime targets for Last Will, allowing for massive damage in a single turn and potentially winning on the spot.

Buster Blader Turbo deck idea

I always loved Buster Blader, he was one of my favorites since I was a kid. Sadly he sucks. 2600ATK for 2 tributes with a shit effect just doesn't cut it in todays meta, especially when not even DMoC - the arguably best 2 tribute monster - is only played in decks where he can be cheated out.

Luckily Buster Blader has the means to cheat himself out as well - entter Skilled White Magician. The Skilled Magicians were always pretty good cards. Solid statline, good attributes and the option to get out big beatsticks by just activating spells. What makes Skilled White work in this deck is, that he is a Light Monster. Chaos decks actually "struggle" with Light monsters, as there aren't many good ones. Thats why Thunder Dragon is run in the first place, to get lights in the GY.

Skilled White is a multi purpose tool in this deck. He is a light monster for the big chaos cards, cheats out a 2600 Beatstick from the deck/hand/GY and is a prime target for Last Will.

Last Will and the Skilled Magicians are a perfect match. Last Will gives them a counter and activates itself when the Skilled Magicians are tributed for their own effects. In a perfect world you activate 3 Last wills, tribute Skilled White for Buster Blader and cheat out three additional monsters as well. The monster lineup is dedicated to get out monsters that grant us massive card advantage. Don Zaloog/Spirit Reaper rip the opponents hand while Buster Blader flattens everything that hinders them from attacking directly, Exiled and Warrior lady remove problematic monsters.

The big Chaos monsters are of course the decks bosses. I despise them, but they are undoubtedly the best cards in the metagame. We play them at max. Also 2 MoF to recycle important spells.

The spell lineup is there to boost Skilled White as fast as possible. 3x Last Will and 2X Upstart are easy counters and give us good advantage, RotA gets us a warrior for every situation and 1x BoM is always nice to have. Rest is standard.

Traps are pretty basic, nothing new there.

Side deck is cobbled together with answers against meta decks with the option to go for a complete anti trap package as well.

Latest (and for now last) version of my Earth Aggro deck with Anti-Trap package

I think I finally tweaked my Earth Aggro deck enough to actually think this is the best it can get under the premise it was created.

It started with this deck a few days ago. I wanted my favorite card - Jinzo - to be the core idea and boss monster of a deck. Sadly Jinzo isn't that strong in the current goat meta and is only used sparingly as a side deck card. The only deck that runs him in main and makes great use of his effect is Earth Aggro.

I started to cobble together a decklist that used Upstart Goblin to fill in gaps, but gifting my opponent 2000LP in a deck that wants to brute force them down as quickly as possible felt very counterintuitive. I looked around other cards to replace them and stumbled across United We Stand, a card that works surpsingly well in Earth Aggro due to the fact you can quickly cheat out multiple monsters with Gigantes and Rock Spirit.

In my last post multiple comments suggested a copy of Mind Control and during playtesting yesterday it felt amazing and much better than the before used Brain Control. I also included a second copy of Giant Rat and cut down Assailant to 2. Assailant isn't that strong actually, but strong enough be included at least twice in the deck.

Traps were mostly kept the same with the exception of switching CotH for Mirror Force. It felt surprisingly consistent to have Mirror Force in hand of Royal Decree was destroyed (sometimes by my own Gigantes) whereas CotH didn't feel strong enough. But I included it in side deck to switch back and forth between them if necessary.

The side deck was completely revamped from last time. The last side deck was centered around including a Bazoo core, but this didn't do much for the deck, as it still struggled against certain decks. Bazoo and this deck have the same matchups, so switching between core deck ideas was stupid if both of them didn't perform better in certain matchups.

I played 50 duels (not matches) with this deck yesterday against friends with all kinds of different decks and went 38-12. This decks best matchup by far is Warriors and the new Gumo Sumo. Both of them rely heavily on their traps and this deck excels in disrupting them. Panda Burn als struggles with this deck, especially if you also include a Mobius as well. I won all my matches against Warrior, Gumo and went 5-1 against Panda Burn.

Chaos Turbo is of course still the strongest deck in the format and on average stronger against this deck. I play 11 matches against Chaos Turbo and went 5-6, so I lost more than I won.

What this deck actually really struggles with is Zombie and Reasoning Gate. Zombie can withstand your assault by special summoning Ryu Kokki and Reasoning Gate regularly boosts out monsters that are bigger than this decks. Luckily I only play 3 matches against Reasoning Gate and 2 against Zombie, but only won once against Gate and lost all against Zombie. Against Zombie you definetely need 3 Smashing Ground to get rid of Ryu Kokki/Pyramid Turtle and I even included another BoM with Mystic Lv2 to have more answers against them.

This deck won't rip apart the meta and is barely (if at all) an improvement to normal Earth Aggro. But it feels comfortable to play, simple to master, my favorite monster gets to shine and it's fun. And I think thats the most important thing.

I will not tweak this deck any further I think, but I'm still open for suggestions.
I have now explored uses for my 2 favorite monsters (Jinzo being first and Summoned Skull being second), maybe I take a look at Buster Blader next, as he is third in my ranking. Or Strike Ninja because I played against a Strike Ninja deck and it was so cool.

Summary of my matches:

vs Chaos Turbo 5-6
vs Zombie 0-2
vs Reasoning Gate 1-3
vs Warrior 6-0
vs Gumo Sumo 2-0
vs Panda Burn 5-1
vs Chaos Warriors 2-0
vs Bazoo Aggro 1-0
vs Machine Aggro 1-0
vs Strike Ninja Dark 1-0 (But I loved the deck idea, Strike Ninja is so cool)
vs Fiends 1-0
vs Cat OTK 2-0 (although my opponent drew absolute shit both times)
vs Goat Control 3-0
vs Relinquished 1-0
vs Megarock 1-0
vs Water Aggro 1-0
vs Soul Control 2-0
vs Thunderclap 1-0 (although I got a perfect hand and my opponent drew really bad)
vs Cold Wave Monarch 1-0
vs Toon 1-0

Earth Aggro with Anti-Trap package

I wanted to build a deck around my favorite monster: Jinzo. He thrives in decks that despise battle traps and Earth Aggro feels like it can benefit the most from it.

There were other deck ideas that would also profit from it like Zombies, but I feel they work better with Skill Drain which contradicts Royal Decree/Jinzo.

I threw together a simple Earth Aggro deck and was looking for tips on it. Monster lineup is pretty standard. I dislike GAF over Berserk Gorilla. but GAF can crash into Chaos Sorcerer and beat over Spy. Also he can be searched by ROTA.

Spells are focused mostly around the fact that I don't run many traps for removal, so I need to generate advantage soemwhere else. Smashing Ground is great for "substituting" Sakuretsu Armor in removing a problematic monster, while Upstart is a nice filler card.

Traps are standard as well. I refrain from using Torrential in Earth Aggro as this deck struggles with maintaining field presence as is, so destroying your own monsters seems counterproductive. I opted for 2x Decrees, as I already run Jinzo and drawing into multiples of them is bad as they are dead in hand. But I though about switching one Book of Moon out for a third Decree. Also Book of Moon can be thrown out for Torrential as well if you want to run it.

Tell me what you think :)

Ok, ernstgemeinte Frage: Was suchen Vermieter?

Was genau suchen Vermieter in Hamburg?

"Archfiends Lightning", my optimized take on a Summoned Skull deck

I posted 2 Fiend-themed decks last week, one that focused on Summoned Skull and one that tried to make the most out of Dark Necrofear.

Both decks felt pretty unoptimized and weak even against rogue decks. I played 30 matches with both decks and barely went above 50% win rate with Summoned Skull, far below 50% with Dark Necrofear.

The problem with Dark Necrofear is, that it's statline kinda goes against it's effect, as it only activates when destroyed by battle. But with 2200/2800 you rarely lose a battle and even if your opponent could beat over it, they will rather not as to not trigger its effect. The only card that can reliably beat it is BLS and he will rather banish it.

That was a big problem for the deck, also needing 3 fiends in the GY is a big detriment if you open with Necrofear and need to fill th GY first.

Summoned Skull actually felt much nicer to play. There isn't a single monster besides BLS that can beat him, he can easily be discarded and revived and works really well under Skill Drain.

The thing about this deck is, that it isn't really strong. Fiends are nice at best but don't hold a candle to Chaos, Earth Aggro or Warrior. And when your monsters cannot compete with effects, you take effects away. Enter Skill Drain, the sole reason this deck works. Fiends work remarkably well under Skill Drain, as they either profit instantly from it (like Giant Orc) or activate their effects in th GY where Skill Drain doesn't affect them.

Thats where this deck came together. As I vividly remember the anime, where Summoned Skull always attacked with Lightning, I tried to focus on this a bit more. There are enough lightning-themed meta cards in GOAT like Thunder Dragon, Raigeki-Break or Lightning Vortex. Their common trope? You need to discard cards for their effects to activate. Looking at Chaos Turbo, a deck that commonly uses these cards, I saw that they can work in these cards because they actively generate discard fodder - namely Thunder Dragon itself and Night Assailant. Night Assailant also fits the theme due to him being a Fiend and Thunder Dragon because he fits the lightning theme. And as I included both I could handily afford to run 2 Raigeki Breaks as well.

As you want to run Flips for Night Assailant I looked for Flips that work under Skill Drain. And lo and behold there is a perfect candidate for it: Slate Warrior. A Fiend flip with 1900 ATK that doesn't care about Skill Drain, as he isn't used for his flip, but rather as a beatstick or to weaken strong monster that beat him, an effect that activates from the GY and so works under Skill Drain.

Giant Orc compliments him as a big beater that profits heavily from Skill Drain, feeds Necrofear and is fodder for DDV.

Giant Germ works exceptionally well in this deck, as he gives me tribute fodder for Skull, fills the GY for Necrofear and thins the deck. Tomato/Sangan are the recruiters for this deck and search for Germ, Assailant or Newdoria, a monster that can end BP by itself. All of them also have in common that they work perfectly with Creature Swap.

Creature Swap felt like the last missing piece in this deck. You run 6 monsters that work perfectly with it, so you can afford to run 2 copies of it. The rest of the spell lineup is pretty standard.

The traps are mostly standard as well, except for DDV and Skill Drain. Skill Drain elevates this deck from casual to actually be able to compete on a rogue level at least. Most decks focus on their monsters effects, this deck works perfectly without them. Skill Drain is one of the most disruptive cards in the game when correctly built around.
It gets supported by DDV (oh how I wish for CCV to be legal as well), which further disrupts your opponents monsters by eliminating all monsters with <1500 ATK for 3 turns while giving you massive intel. These cards, together with the aforementioned Raigeki Break, allow for a very strong field pressence, something Fiends always struggled with.

Of course this deck isn't meta, but it performs well enough to get some wins and is incredibly fun. The theme is cool, Summoned Skull brings some flavor (also his new full art is sick) and most opponents don't expect Skill Drain/DDV coupled with big beaters.

Right now I'm experimenting with different monster ratios, like including more Tomatoes and Newdorias, including a Warrior package with Zombyra (replacing Orcs)/Exiled/Rota (though I can't find enough space for it) or some different removal cards like Lightning Vortex/Smashing Ground/Sakuretsu.

Tell me what you think!

Posted a Summoned Skull decklist yesterday, decided to lean more into the fiend theme with this one. "D.D. Necrofear Turbo"

Summoned Skull is one of the coolest monsters ever, but even when GOAT format was new he was already lacking in power. But I liked the fiend theme I built around him, so I tweaked the decklist more.

I decided to turn the deck into a hybrid deck that leans into turboing out Necrofear and using her cost of banishing 3 fiends to summon her to swarm the field with Dimension Fusion/Return from Different Dimension.

Necrofear is run 3x in this deck. It's the boss monster, has a passable statline, a easy summoning condition and a great battle "protection" effect. The fact she banishes 3 fiends at once is a benefit for this deck for multiple reasons:

  1. You dont care about whether your monsters run into removal cards, they serve a purpose in the graveyard
  2. This in turn allows you to run board/hand clearers like Card Destruction and Cyber Jar. It massively disrupts the opponent while fueling your summoning ressources for Necrofear
  3. You get an alternate win con by swarming the field at once with all banished monsters by resummoning them with Dimension Fusion/Return from Different Dimension

I couldn't decide whether to run 1x Dimension Fusion/1x Return from Different Dimension or 2x copies of either card. Dimension Fusion is faster, as it's a spell and allows you instant action when your oppoents board is stripped of ressources/battle traps, while Return allows you to surprise your opponent during your Battle Phase if they cannot react to your attack properly. Both have their merits.

The rest of the monster list is fairly simple. 3x Slate Warriors/3x Giant Orcs are your beatsticks, Slate Warrior is a flip, so he profits from Night Assailant as well, which is run 2x in this deck. As we run 2x Night Assailant we want to capitalize on him by maximizing Flip users in this deck. Cyber Jar is massively disrupting and benefits you way more than your opponent, while MoF is just nice to have, as it is imo the best flip monster in the format.

Giant Germs swarm the field, Sangan is a staple and D.D. Warrior Lady fits perfectly with the theme of banishing monsters.

Spells are mostly standard, the only non conventional cards this deck uses are Card Destruction and Lightning Vortex. Both get fiends from our hand into the GY while granting us benefits in stripping your opponent of ressourcesm, they also synergize especially well with Night Assailant.

Traps are standard as well withg the exception of DDV. We run 6 monsters that can be used for its effect, so it would be stupid to not run it. Also I love the Virus cards in general (why isn't CCV legal in GOAT :( )

Idk what to title this deck. "Archfiend Skill Drain" or sth like that

I recently saw the new full art of Summoend Skull and that got me thinking if I could make a deck around him as the boss monster.

His pros:

  • strongest single tribute in the format, that beats over monarchs/Jinzo
  • "Archfiend" card so he can use their dedicated support cards
  • Fiend-monster for Dark Necrofear

His cons:

  • tribute monster, so he inherently is a -1 on summon
  • no effect, so nothing to substitute his -1 like Monarchs can do

I looked at his cons and decided to build around eliminating them. First was, that he is a tribute summon, so we need ways to create tributes for him. As he is a fiend type monster and fiends love to use Necrofear I looked for fiends, that can swarm the field and fuel Skull as well as Necrofear. Presenting: Giant Germ. He fits the criteria perfectly. Summons 2 copies on destruction and is a fiend type monster.

Next card that creates tributes is Falling Down, an Archfiend-specific Snatch Steal. Summoned Skull is considered an Archfiend and the best other Archfiend card is Archfiend soldier, a 1900 vanilla beatstick Fiend. So another Fiend card that can fuel Necrofear and another monster without effect.

That brought Skill Drain into the deck. All monster up until now are not afffected by Skill Drain, as they either have no effects or activate them when sent to the Graveyard. This prompted me to look up other cards to benefit from it. First up I included a small recruiter engine consisting of 2x Tomatoes, 1x Sangan and a Newdoria. All of them search for one another or for Giant Germ and Newdoria is a great "fuck off" card to summon during your opponents battle phase.

The last monsters I included were a toss up between 3x Giant Orcs or 3x Zombyra and 1x Exiled Force. Both have their pros and cons:

Warrior engine pros:

  • searchable by ROTA
  • Exiled is extremely strong under Skill Drain, as he can still be used
  • Zombyra works well even without Skill Drain

Cons:

  • no fiends
  • Zombyra is weaker than Giant Orc
  • Zombyra cannot be used for DDV after a single fight without Drain, while Orc can

The Giant orcs have the opposite pros and cons. But in the end the pros of the Warrior engine overruled the pros of the Giant Orcs, so I included them and put 2 Orcs in the side deck for an even more aggressive approach.

The spells include many cards that fuck with your opponents monsters, mainly stealing them. Snatch Steal, Brain Control and Falling down all generate tribute fodder while Creature swap gives recruiters to my opponent to be destroyed and generate more card advantage for me. I opted to use 1x brain Control and 1x Falling Down. Falling Down is better if you have an Archfiend, but we only run 5 Archfiends in the deck, so its uses are limited, while Brain control has no such limitation, but can only be used for a single turn.

The traps were the spicy part of the deck. Skill Drain synergizes so well with this deck that I run 3 copies of it as well as 1x DDV. I love the virus cards (sadly CCV isn't legal in GOAT or this deck wouldve been even stronger) and this deck makes great use of it due to having 6 Dark monsters above 2000ATK. Orc is generally better for DDV, as he still has above 2000ATK after battle when not under Skill Drain, while Zombyra hasn't, but DDV is limited and so it is used rather sparingly.

The side deck fills up niches, including backrow removal in Mobius/Dust Tornado, a monster/trap package if you decide to exclude skill drain and Wok against Burn.

Advice for a potential buyer: Which version is the best?

Stupid generalist question, but I don’t know how to phrase it better.

Ever since I made a car trip with my uncle from northern to southern Germany in his E39 I was obsessed with this car.

Right now I’m in the middle of buying a new car, as I wanted to get rid of my i30n and got a great offer for it.

I play with the thought of giving in and buying an E39 as my „last car“ as in - drive it until one of us gives up.

But what version is the best of it? I heard many great things about the M54B30, but also about the 540i, which uses a M62 and was told that this engine has massive problems with timing chain failures. And of course I also heard many enthusiasts say that the M5 is the greatest M-Car BMW has ever built (next to the E46 M3).

Which one would you „recommend“ looking into further? As I mostly commute with it and only drive on the highway 3-4 a month I don’t need a car with excessive power, but it needs to have at least enough power to make it fun to drive.

What do I do with this?

M31. Gave up on growing a full beard, as I have no hair whatsoever at the corners of my mouth.
Grew out my stache 4 weeks ago which grew surprisingly fast and symmetrical. But I don’t know what to do with the rest of my beard.

Right now I just trimmed the cheeks a bit after not shaving for 5 days. I sadly have a small chin but long face. I am also still overweight, even though I lost 23kg already. Hopefully my face will look better when I am at my goal weight.

What do I do with my beard until then?

M31 need some advice on my beard

Gave up on growing a full beard, as the corners of my mouth have no hair whatsoever. So I decided to grow out my mustache, which surprisingly grew pretty dense and symmetrical.

Thing is I don’t know what to do with the rest of my beard. Right now I just trimmed and contoured the cheeks, but nothing more. I have a rather long face but small chin, so naked doesn’t look good, but letting it grow looks scruffy really fast. I am also still rather fat, so my cheeks are still chubby, but already lost 23kg with more to come.

Any advice would be great, thanks

Is there a mod that adds a two handed Kanabo or spiked club to the game? Haven’t found one yet which I find odd considering that our lovely porters already ported so many weapons to PS
