TMJ pain 2 months after bad dentist filling

I had a routine filling a couple of months ago. The assistant told me the dentist takes a long time to do fillings and I didn’t think anything of it.

It seemed exceptionally painful when injected with numbing agent in the back of my jaw area near my ear. Then it took her about an hour to do the filling. When it was done I could tell it was way too high as it was the first point of contact when closing my mouth. This is in my left lower molar. They said sleep on it and come back if you don’t like the results.

It was clearly way too high and it felt very awkward so I went back the next day. The assistant ground down the filling until it felt like a good fit.

I had cold sensitivity in the area for a couple of days and general soreness near my ear but didn’t think anything of it. They said it’s normal. After a month or so I went back because the pain near my ear never went away and got worse. They said the bite looks normal and suggested I see a TMJ specialist.

Now I’m in debilitating pain. Can’t open my mouth wide, can’t chew on left side which is my chewing side. Extremely frustrated and unhappy that this seems like it might be a lifelong condition now. I’m considering legal action. I think this dentist was low quality and I didn’t know the risks associated with having my mouth hyper extended open for such a long time, or the bite alignment issues, or injection issues. This is all new to me. I’ve never had jaw pain before.

The waiting list to see a TMJ specialist is several months. So I’m just calling a couple of times a week to see if there are cancellations I can take.

I’ve just been following the advice of google and being gentle with my jaw and trying to just let it rest and chew soft foods on the other side of my mouth. I’ve been taking a good bit of ibuprofen too. So far it’s only gotten worse.

My bite and everything just feels weird now too. It’s hard to describe but my bite doesn’t feel natural at all anymore even though that dentist said everything looks fine with their paper biting stain test.

Other than following google instructions and waiting to see a specialist I’m not sure what to do. I think I’m mostly venting. This sucks a lot and has lowered my quality of life by a lot.

Buying first Bidet, questions

So I'm looking to buy a good quality bidet for normal use. I am wanting to by quality over gimmicks. I've never used a bidet in my life but I've heard good things and I like the idea of being extra clean and preventing some swamp ass exercising outside in the hot humid summers.

I'm leaning towards the Tushy Classic 3.0 but saw there was a warm water version as well.

I have a hot water tank system in my house and it takes about 30 seconds+ to get hot water from the sink when turned on full. So how does the bidet have hot water immediately? Or are people sitting there and spraying for 30 seconds waiting for warm water? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of not being shocked by the cold water immediately?

I don't have electricity in the toilet room so powered unit is out.

Am I making a good choice with the classic?

My wishlist for next gen Panamera EV

I’m currently waiting for a special EV to come along to replace my ancient Model S. Panamera EV I’d at the top of my list. It has been delayed but will likely come in a few years.

Here’s my wishlist for when it arrives:

Panamera becomes a premium brand name among Porsche as an alternative to their sporty 911/Cayman side. This means equivalent money and prestige for Panamera. But instead of race suspension and huge wings it gets active ride control standard and premium construction materials standard.

Lightweight efforts in chassis and perhaps maybe carbon fiber body panels and structural components the norm for Panamera. Forged wheels or special construction material wheel options only. Panamera wheels should all be special.

High quality buttons and touch points. Traditional stalls and premium quality computers and screens. Like the Ferrari Luce but slightly more Germanic and functional.

Overall ethos of big comfortable car, big seats, big comfortable airy interior. Excellent ingress and egress. But still a stylish low wide fastback/wagon.

Here’s my extra special want. A variant with only the rear motor from the Turbo/S Cayenne with over 500 horsepower and a slightly smaller battery as well. It would be a “Touring” spec with the lightweight bits from the Turbo but without the glass roof, extra luxury items in a lightweight RWD package. Figure about 100kwh battery and 300 miles of range on a charge would be excellent and under 5000lbs curb weight. But still have active ride control, rear wheel steering, rear differential control.

No fake shifts or autonomous stuff. Just let the machine speak for itself. Electric motors make noises.

I could go on but I’m just looking forward to seeing some awesome next Gen Panamera EV to buy.

Ideas for dead patch in centipede?

Hi, I put down fresh sod in southeast USA about 5 years ago. This year I noticed this dead spot with some yellow surrounds. From my limited research I think it might be fungus or pests but I'm not sure. I'd like to do a DIY fix if possible.

I've thought about using a shovel to dig out the dead spot and put down a piece of fresh sod but what do you think?

Thanks

Over 10 years of PF and recently got serious about conservative treatment and surgery options

I've had PF pain for over 10 years, maybe closer to 20. It gets worse from standing/walking/activities. The pains are only in my left foot. Right foot feels fine.

I've tried dozens of orthotics/inserts/shoes. I've noticed the pain is worse with activity. The pain is also worse if I stand/walk with shoes rather than squishy soft sandals. The more arch support and heel support the shoe has the worse it feels.

I've read that lots of support is good for PF but it seems to be making mine worse and I don't know why.

My ortho said I have 3 large heel spurs, bottom, back, and top of heel. He said surgery is an option. He'd grind down the heel spurs and I guess reattach the ligaments and bits then 6+ months of recovery. But, the prognosis doesn't seem great. Seems like a fairly high risk thing and chance of full recovery not great. So I'm strongly against the surgery. I'm only considering it as an absolute last resort.

Can't afford expensive treatments like shockwave and plasma injections not covered by insurance.

For the past 2 months I've been dedicating a lot of my day to conservative treatments. Constant stretching, massaging foot, never walking barefoot ever, wearing my supportive and comfortable sandals mostly instead of shoes when I can, rolling foot on ice bottle and wearing a frozen ankle thing. First thing I do when I wake up before I even open my eyes is start stretching and massaging and loosening up my foot and ankle. Stopped all activities like long walks, pickleball etc.

I've even been injecting BPC 157 and TB 500 for nearly 2 months.

I'd say pain is about 20% less than a couple of months ago but it's stayed the same for over a month. The first month I mostly rested it and that seemed to help the most. 2nd month forward I started doing more regular foot exercises with calf raises and toe curls with a towel. They do seem to irritate it some. The toe curls give me foot cramps on the bottom of my foot. The calf raises can hurt my Achilles quite badly and give it a burning sensation.

I'm at the point where I'm not sure what to do. Doctor is fine with surgery but I'd say I'm functional just in 5/10 pain most of the time. It's a shitty life but I'd rather have 5/10 pain than risk a serious complication, or going through the surgery only to end up with 5/10 pain in the end or worse.

I could be doing more foot exercises but wasn't sure how hard to push it and if that was really the answer. I can't tell if I should be exercising more and just embrace the soreness for a longer term benefit or if it's just making the injury worse.

Would anything be learned from an MRI?

I'm concerned I have multiple issues going on that's mimicking or just compounding the PF and I wouldn't be solving the issues with surgery.

I feel several types of foot pain as well. I can feel a tearing sensation near the ball of my foot when I do hamstring/calf stretches, a similar feeling near the arch part of the heel, a strong ache on the back of my heel, aches on the sides of my heel with pressure, and the typical pain on the bottom of my heel when pressing on it. But I'd say I feel at least 5 distinct types of pain in different areas. Hard to believe everything is from PF.

Doctor gave me a heel wedge to try out which made pain much worse. Any pressure or support on the heel seems to make it much worse. First steps of the day aren't nearly as bad as it feels after walking/standing for 15-30 minutes then much more sore afterwards. Lots of things seem counter to what I've read about what to expect from PF.

Just venting I guess and open to ideas and suggestions.

My current path is more time of conservative treatments like I've been doing until I get so frustrated that I just go under the knife out of frustration but I want to exhaust all other reasonable ideas and get an MRI first if possible for a definitive diagnosis.

This injury is so frustrating and disabling as an active person.

How come Sherlock couldn’t see through a disguise - ASIS

I’m reading a study in scarlet and just got past the point where he finds the old lady in his apartment regarding the ring was actually a young man. For how observant he is about details wouldn’t he easily be able to pick a part a disguise like this?

Can upcoming Cayenne EV be kept in lowest ride height permanently with Active Ride option?

I'm interested in the car but prefer a lower ride height more akin to a station wagon than a lifted SUV. With the Porsche Active Ride option can the car be kept in it's lowest setting permanently? Or do you have to press a button every time you drive?

I know they will likely have that feature where it'll change height when you walk up and unlock the car but curious if I can customize all of this or if it's something you have to change every time you drive.

Unlike the Panamera where it raises when you approach I'd like the Cayenne to be low.

Mower stalling when meeting any resistance - How do I get a replacement under warranty?

I bought a MO80L06 mower in April of 2025 from Costco. It's self propelled dual battery max pro.

I mow easy grass once every couple of weeks in the summer; less than 1/4 acre. So very light duty. Stored in garage and taken care of.

Today when I was mowing grass as usual the motor stalled and beeped. I noticed there was plenty of battery life but charged them up anyways. I inspected the blade area and rotated the blade with my hand and all seemed fine.

Tried to mow again and same issue. The blade was able to spin when on level hard ground with no cutting but as soon as it hit any resistance with grass it would stall and beep. I tried regular and Turbo setting.

Did I just get extremely unlucky and my mower died after just a year of light use?

I think the warranty should be good for a while so I may need to use that I guess unless there's an easy fix I'm not noticing.

I have a lot of Greenworks tools and have been using them for over a decade and haven't had issues with them until now.

Should I try and get a replacement from Costco or Greenworks or how does it the process work?

Thanks

Looking for a list of SH stories not covered in the Granada series

I tried Google search and a little looking but was hoping someone had a cheat sheet of all the stories not filmed with Jeremy Brett. I’d like to read the remaining stories. My backup plan is to get the list of all 60 side by side and check them off.

Thank you

Can drivers permanently disable lane keep assist in USA models?

I’m considering buying an IX3 but my make it or break it is being able to permanently set my settings for things like lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring. I can’t buy it if I have to press a button or say a command every time I have to get in the car to remember my settings.

Jeremy Brett’s Sherlock is so good

I’ve been watching the series on BritBox and it’s so good. Quickly became one of my all time favorite shows. Brett’s Sherlock is perfect to the point where he is Sherlock for me. He kind of reminds me of Morrissey. I love when Sherlock gets bested or called on his BS but he’s always a good sport about it.

Casual + athletic shorts after trying a Reddit ideas

I tried Rhone Pursuit shorts but they were more like windbreaker/swim trunks. I tried Lululemon shorts and my stuff falls out of my pockets when I sit down. I'm looking for a high quality shorts that are casual/athletic but have more of a clothlike texture like the Amazon basics type of shorts. I know basically everything is artificial materials now and that's okay. Ideas?

Wolverine combo now what?

I started 330 dose of Wolverine blend daily injected In my ankle area a few days ago. I know this is to help accelerate healing. But I’m wondering if this means I need to be extra careful about maximum rest to let it heal or if I should be trying to do stretching and exercises.

I have pain all over my foot and slightly a typical PF pain. But PF is definitely a part of it.

I’ve already tried all the conservative at home treatments and rest without results and that’s why I started the peptides.

I just want to give myself the best chance of healing up. Mine doesn’t just hurt in the morning it always hurts when I walk to the point where I’ve just default started walking on the outside of my foot to avoid pain.

I’ve noticed when I try to stand on the ball of my foot it will collapse with pain whereas the other foot I can stand on it no problem. So there’s definitely some significant weakness going on but not sure what to do.

It’s only in one foot and I’ve had it for about 15 years and it’s just been getting worse in the last couple of years from lots of walking jogging and pickleball. Now I’m just limping and walking on the side of my foot all the time and decided enough was enough and trying to get it fixed.

Think I should just maximum rest or should I be doing stretches and or exercises while trying to heal?

I was told 2-3 months of treatments before I’d see results. The vendor seems reputable and was recommended. First time trying anything like this and I’m a skeptic so I just assume none of this stuff works and it’s all snake oil. I’m hoping to be proven wrong.

Feel free to chime in with other bpc and Wolverine blend experiences. Thanks

I’m also planning to see an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle for advice but it’s a couple of weeks away.
