I get the chrono- and plasmancers but this guy literally has 2 tentacles, does it just use them like legs or does it drag them around like a snake or something?

I didn't even realise that this was the last mission, I was confused why the difficulty was so high and no reward, it didn't come to my mind because (I have no idea from where I got the idea from but)I tought there were more planets you would go to. I know theres a shit ton of other troops and also tech priests I couldve unlocked but I managed to beat the final bosses with just 4 techpriests, 1 servitor and servoskull cracked out ranger alpha. Has this happened to someone else?
