The salary hasn’t actually moved the needle all that much, class sizes are basically identical to what they were before, the “1000 additional teachers” thing is turning out to be smoke and mirrors, the sub list in urban boards is a shambles because it’s been ransacked to frantically backfill contract positions, and now we have even more batshit crazy laws to contend with if the UCP ever manage to figure out how to actually enforce them rather than kicking the can down the road another six months.

This is fine.

Saw this on the baseball sub and thought it’d be fun. What player haunts your nightmares knowing that they were picked by another team using your own team’s pick and turned into a superstar?

For a variety of reasons, someone who smokes is a hard dealbreaker for me, but it seems like over half the people on my feed use cigarettes or weed. It’s so disheartening to see a profile that looks like a really good fit, and then I see that they’re a smoker and it just ruins it.

Am I being too unreasonable here or is anyone else feeling like this?

I have to imagine they’ll play in the WSL eventually, and it’ll be funny to see Ted’s confusion at not knowing who London City are and Alice/Beard trying to explain it to him because they’re the only WSL team that is not associated with a men’s side.

I’m not super optimistic that anything measurable will have changed for the better, given that there has still been no action on class sizes, the new schools aren’t built (and wouldn’t be sufficiently staffed even if they were), and there’s a whole bunch more changes coming down the pipe if the UCP ever figure out how to implement them. How are others doing?

It’ll also be curious to see what happens with extracurriculars this year, since no one can legally be forced to do them anymore like what happened last year.

For my entire time in education, I’ve worn a small rainbow when I’m teaching - I don’t say anything but it sends a little signal of inclusion which I think is nice. Part of me wants to just keep doing it anyway, but I’m nervous about getting flak for it if I do and I’m not super far in my career yet.

Anyone have more insight or just similarly feeling frustrated about this?

AMM appears in Heartstopper Forever, replacing Olivia Colman who had to be recast for scheduling reasons. In that movie she plays Nick’s friendly and supportive mother, which just punctuates how good an actor she is to be able to play someone as evil as Colonel Raskova so convincingly.

Playing both the very friendly and supportive Sarah Nelson and the very evil Colonel Raskova? That woman has got range.

It makes the immersion feel so much more real that my French and Italian players can pick up fluent Spanish the quickest due to having the language family basis.

Started a save in Wrexham but got sacked halfway through my second season after the team hit the skids (it’s my first time playing the game) and was just outside the relegation zone to League One. Applied around and got hired to run Gresford, a team in the Cymru Premiership that was in shambles, having won just one of their last 18 league matches and in last place. The only objective was to avoid relegation.

Five matches left in the season, and I start with a loss but managed to pick up a draw and consecutive wins, controlling possession and outshooting the opposition in every match with a solid Gegenpress strategy. The team hadn’t gotten consecutive wins or three consecutive games with points in any stretch of league fixtures all year.

Suddenly the team has just one match left and has the opportunity to climb into a relegation playoff spot with a win or survive outright with a win and help. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be with a final match played in a torrential downpour and my side lost 2-0, but there was at least some hope to build something for the next season with the tactics bearing fruit and a ton of promising youth to earn a ticket back up to the Cymru Premier for the season after next.

Boom. Instantly fired after losing the match. At least the fan reaction was “what in the actual fuck?” and considered it a knee-jerk move.
