Used items easier to return than new?

First time I came across this issue. I’m trying to return a large batting cage/net that is still
In the original box and unopened. The only option I’m being given is UPS return. It’s rather large so I would appreciate the UPS pickup but they’re charging 12.99 for that service. When I go back and click through that the item is used and damaged the pickup is free. Ummm. Are they really tempting me to open and damage a perfectly good item to get a free pickup? Why would they make me pay to send back a brand new item that they can resell.

Who doesn't love playing the 7 month change game

The gamification of DVC is so much fun. Who else is always swapping resorts at 7 months and what points are you willing to swap for which resorts?

First Row of Comfort Plus

Is the poor man’s first class. Also best value as a paid upgrade. Specifically referring to the A320 and A321s. The tray tables and in flight entertainment not being in traditional spots suck yes I’ll give you that. Also if you’re a drinker the upgrade also pays for itself. Leg room is ridiculously good. I’d take this over first class bulk head. I think it’s the best value prop on any domestic flight where you can get the upgrade cheap enough.

How to get this out without ruining housing

Tightened too much even with lubricant on it…wouldn’t twist off. Tried leverage and whole thing broke. I’ll start over again but I need to salvage the multiport valve. How can I get that out?

Can someone tell me how this is going to work?

I'm making the numbers easy for my example on my Vanilla Plat:

-I owe say 1000 on my statement balance due tomorrow

-My total balance is 1500

-I created a Plan It yesterday to split 3 purchases for 800

-2 of the purchases are from the current statement 1 from the next one that is generating next week

- My statement balance has not updated. I spoke to CS who said just pay the statement balance and the Plan it will be reflected when the new statement generates.

- I asked how that would work because by paying the current statement I'm paying off some of the Plan It purchases. They assured me that everything would work.

I don't see how. And I'm fine paying the full statement balance as it is but there's no way they're going to charge me the monthly fee that I agreed to because that monthly fee included purchases which I will have paid off by paying this statement in full...no? Am I losing it? What am I not seeing here.

Based on Knicks-Spurs in finals as a historical indicator of the tech bubble bursting we have until March of next year to ride this wave

As a Knicks fan this comparison hurts me but if we look at the last time the Knicks and Spurs were in the finals we were in a very similar tech fueled euphoria in the market…aka the dot com bubble.

On June 25th 1999 the Spurs…gah…beat the Knicks to win the NBA title. About 9 months later the market saw the peak of the dot com valuations. March 10th 2000 was the top and the sell off snowballed after that.

Tim Duncan who was the key piece that helped the Spurs win was 22 the year they made the championship…who else is 22? That’s right…Victor Wembanyama. Cue eerie music.

This post is partly for fun but also to serve as a reminder that bubbles are real…bubbles repeat…but they last a lot longer than people who call for bubbles to burst…well…to burst.

And if the Knicks win? Go long infrastructure stocks cause they’re gonna tear NYC down in celebration!

Was asked for texted code instead of calling in

I've complained many times about having to call in and waste time to place buy AND SELL orders for "low priced" or "risky" securities. Fine, at this point I understand...I hate it with a passion but I know the deal. Today I was all ready to do that with another "non-mainstream" stock and lo and behold it asked me for a code that they texted to me to allow the purchase. Um..I can live with doing that with all the black listed stocks Merrill makes me call in for. Why can't they just use that system for all those equities? It reminded me of back in the day I used to have a little electronic credit card looking thing that would generate a code for penny stock purchases. Merrill if you're listening...I can deal with that! Make them all coded and not call ins.

Supracondylar fracture looking like type 1 cast or type 2 pinning?

8 year old with slight stress fracture and minimal displacement. First ortho pushed for pinning. Second, a paed with more experience said no way just a cast will do. Humeral line definitely intersects with cap but is it too far for conservative cast option? Thoughts?

Nolan McLean bobblehead special ticket only is weak

Playing hooky with kids to come to game today specifically for Nolan McLean Star Wars bobblehead and it’s a special ticketed bobblehead? Ok my bad I should’ve done more research into it but I’ve never in 35 years as a Mets fan seen a regular ticket not get a promotion item. It’s weak Cohen. Weak. Whatever. LGM.

I mean…we’ve all seen some crazy stuff at WDW…people acting like it’s their first day outside in public…but this takes the cake. Jumping off the safari vehicle to pee in front of guests and children. Oof the lifetime ban is probably pretty swift on this one.

We’re very lucky we get to contribute to a retirement system with an option for guaranteed returns. I know that. But would it kill them to update more than once every month and a half? My SO is in another school district and their 403b is through Fidelity and they update DAILY. Yes yes we can’t touch the money until retirement so who cares…well some of us do like to see what our retirement money is doing. Just wish they would get with the system…or more like get a new system!
