how would you describe fred’s musical journey?

how would you describe fred’s musical journey?

how would you describe fred’s evolving musical journey, especially how the old trilogy stacks up with this recent year of USB and 9 months & 50 hours?

the older stuff is very much an exploration on building stories, quotes and people creating a feeling and environment to me while the latest stuff feels to be more musical forward but still using/exploring the voice as more of another instrument.

the colors of the albums also fits very well. the black and white and abstract covers also fits his changes these past few years.

curious what everyone’s take is! my partner who loved fred passed away after the albums: actual life and I often imagine what i’d tell him about his new music 🥹

untapped wells of grief [hyopoarousal?]

i’m in my 30s. it’s been 14 years since my mom passed away slowly, 4 years since I lost everything in a house fire and then 2 years since my partner passed away suddenly.

it’s been tough but this past summer I started emdr after years of cbt didn’t do anything for me.

i’ve gone to 10 or so sessions mainly focused around my mom’s loss but had to take a break. does anyone else feel that emdr has done something to them? I feel these deep untapped wells of grief lately. I thought I processed most of my grief but lately it’s been tough. every night I find some reason to cry and most days i’m trying to feel purpose in life.

it’s like the parts of me that survived have done their jobs and now there’s a new part of me who i don’t know. truly.. it’s weird and sad. anyone else?

so I went inside an old Sears building that’s been sitting vacant.

it’s a massive 4-5 story building and I had a chance to walk around it by myself. the eeriest part was that all the lights had occupancy sensors so everything would be dark until I walked near. most of the time you’d have no clue where you are. it was like a labyrinth at times and then suddenly a giant open floor.

I got lost several times where it took a good 10 mins to find the stairs and then i’d be lost again! so many animals in the ceiling and weird sounds.

restored my dad’s 25 year old grill!

we didn’t have much money growing up but one summer, there was a going out of business sale and he got this grill for half off. after many years of use and a few moves, it was in disrepair. I kept it and then gave it to a friend who moved and then I had it again. this grill sat out back by my shed rusting and collecting leaves.

well after 25 years, I fixed it up and we are grilling again on it! and my dad will be coming to the inaugural grilling!

before. during and after!

UPDATE:
some more pics: https://imgur.com/a/bnAF3HN

and the process:

I completely disassembled it down to a bare frame. took many photos and videos along the way to not forget.

I had to order a new set of grates, bars, igniters, burner tubes, propane adapter and some misc bolts.

power washed as best as I could. sanded the crap out of everything with a heavy duty wire brush on a power drill plus a palm sander. took off all the old enamel.

then I started painting it with a spray paint appliance enamel for body and a high temp paint for outside of the fire box. that took the longest part. had to paint and sometimes start over and start sanding again.

then just assembly! it was great fun tbh.

the avoidant ones

ugh. how do I get over the thought that “well all would’ve been fine if they weren’t avoidant and we could’ve talked through their feelings”. so much of how it ended was because they both wanted so much and at the same time didn’t want enough.

for example they needed me around to regulate them but then would feel suffocated. no win win but if we just talked about it openly…

how the hell am I supposed to dimension this egg shaped opening?

so the circle portion is easy but the egg portion is tough. I was going to make a grid and put some dimension and radii to it. thoughts?

thanks !

someone convince/dissuade me from an auto pour over

soo I got my dream espresso machine 2 years ago. I over drank espressos I got sick of it! I still like espresso based drinks but not nearly as much.

I switched to a classic v60 for my daily and love the coffee and I am not sick of it. however lately, i’ve been feeling a bit lazy. i’ve been looking at the xbloom studio and the hario coffee king 2. I hate the xbloom’s grinder and the hario seems like a glorified autodrip.

I guess my question is:

any recommendations for auto pour overs or any recommendations to step up my game from the v60?

thanks!

resented because I gave too much

I was broken up with because I gave too much to the relationship and was always there for her. she felt she couldn’t meet me and began resenting me for always being there for her. felt her shortcomings were exacerbated with how I loved her.

(she had a bad fear of abandonment and tested me many times)

went fossil hunting for the first time and found these! not sure what the first 2 are. they looks almost like spores. I know it’s from a devonian period

EDIT: I have changed the banner color from red and removed AI model mockups from the products! So thanks everyone for that feedback.
