What do you use for your infusions?

I shattered my strainer (photo to show which i had) and im looking for something new. I need something with a lid, capacity for about 3 tablespoons worth of product, and holds enough water for 2 large mugs. The one I had before had plenty of space for loose leaf but I had to do 2-3 fills with hot water for my husband and i.

I do not support amazon so if you have recommendations that aren't from that site id prefer it. I could buy a French press, and thats probably my best bet, just curious what else is out there that people like

Should I be rotating?

I noticed the bigger leaves were really bent at the top, this plant sits in front of a huge east facing window and get lots of light. I knkw with fuller plants like pothos and bushy plants you rotate them, but monsteras generally have a heavier side so I didnt think they needed rotation. What can I do to prevent the bend?

Motivation/accountability buddy

I'd really love to have someone that is also trying to be more fit and want to have a friend on the journey. Im not specifically looking for a "lose weight count calories hyperfixate on your flaws" type of person. I love my curves and I love my body, but im so lazy and I really struggle with being active. I go on a walk or two a day and was starting to go on hikes but my car died so im stuck at home all day every day. I want to be more regular with working out at home but I get caught up with sewing or reading and then the day is over and ive done nothing.

What im looking for and what i offer;

A text a day, just a simple "have you moved yet" "how do you plan to move" type of conversation. We dont have to text all day but just a check in after noon to see if we're both doing what we know we want to do (weight lifting, running, yoga, what ever it is)

No political or religious conversations, purely motivation and accountability.

A little sbout me;

29, married, step mom, cat mom, plant and gardening fanatic. Im studying herbalism, and I love arts and crafts!

If this is something youre interested in leave a comment and ill DM you. Let's be healthy together <3

Castor oil

I want to make my first tincture and im wondering if castor oil is okay? My goal is to make a calendula and st John's worth tinctures to see how my skin responds and then mix those to make a salve for a future pregnancy. I know olive oil is generally recommended but im on a budget and have organic cold pressed castor oil already.

Looking for animated shows

I love the animes frieren and delicious in dungeons, and pretty much every ghibli film. Stuff that slow, slice of life, very little action. Just peaceful. Does any one have any shows they can recommend?

Making salves

This is probably a stupid question so please be nice in tbe comments. Im going to start making salves soon, I should buy a seperate pot from the one I cook with for melting down bees wax right? Or does it not really matter as long as its washed well?

Cycle tracking when irregular

Ive read period power by Maisie hill as well as a couple other similar books and im so excited about period tracking and better understanding my cycle, but my cycles range from 38-53 days, the last 3 months they've been more in the 50 day range. I recently found out im not ovulating either, and im just so confused. I want to be able to utilize my phases to live more fully, but its really hard when my cycles are insanely long. I do have PCOS and im trying to concieve so ill be doing an ovulation treatment on my next cycle. But im posting because im curious if any one has had similar cycle ranges and if they've changed, or if they've been able to track. I just want to have more regularity and a better grip on reality so I dint feel so spread thin.

And I will not take birth control to "regulate my cycle" thats an insane recommendation so please dont make it.

Alternative schools

Im hoping to be moving to spring branch next summer with my 10 year old son. Im really interested in finding a small school that focuses more on nature and outdoors and focuses in alternate learning. I had found a website for one a few months ago and lost it. Does any one know if theres any schools like this in the area? I know they tend to be more popular in rural areas.

What are your favorite resources

How did statt lesrnjng herbalism? I really want to take a course, not to become a master or clinical herbalist, but just to learn a wide range of things. Ive been searching for in person courses but ive only been able to find two in my atea which is crazy cuz i live outside of San Diego, you'd think there'd be way more than that. Maybe im not using the right key words in my search or something but im at a loss. I want to build community and meet like minded people and im just at a loss. So i started looking at online courses but the options are overwhelming and I know a lot of them are scams or aren't reliable. So im reaching out asking what your favorites are, what your experiences have been, and any advice for someone wanting to learn more.

Plants and seeds

Where do you buy herbal plants and seeds to grow? I prefer plants because the sun is intense where I live snd seeds often dont survive this time of year. Im looking to expand my herb garden.

A PSA to vendors

I was at the farmers market yesterday and theres a booth that sells herbs for super cheap, ive gotten a few staples that are thriving. So yesterday I stopped by and she had rue. Ive never used it or researched it and she told me to chew a leaf and I loved the tingle so I bought it. Now im at home doing some research and im shocked. My husband and i are current trying to concieve, im not with child but had i been, and I ate 3 of those leaves, id have been an absolutely anxious mess. My husband wants to take kt back and exchange it but im still fascinated by it so I told him no. But anyways, if youre selling herbs to the public, and a plant has possible birthdefect properties, tell people before you recommend they statt eating leaves.

Also how do you use rue? Since I wont be drinking it or cooking with it anytime soon, im interested in its kther applications and uses.

Herbalism course

To any one who's taken an Herbalism course, do you regret spending the money on it? What have you done with your certification since completing? Im heavily considering dropping out of nutrition school (im only 15 weeks in) and instead pursuing my true passion into Herbalism. I love nutrition, and both go well together. But a 4 year BA is stressing me out and the Herbalism school i found also offers a 6 week holistic nutrition course.

Sprained hip and had to cancel membership. Feeling sad.

I love my studio, I love the sweet little old ladies thst make me feel so welcomed (im a heavily tattooed and pierced 30yo female so I get nervous in studios cuz i stand out) and it love the envirnment. Its been so healing and therapeutic.

2 weeks ago I did my first vinyasa class and sprained my hip so bad I shifted my femur and am now on 6 week disability with no work. My studi is 2 miles from my work, both are almost 45 minutes from my house. So I made the decision to cancel my membership and just do YouTube yoga at home, its better cuz i can find specific videos that don't involve legs or lower back stuff but im so devastated. Im going to go back when I get the okay to return to work, but im really going to miss my studio in the mean time.
