Smoking chicken for a diet

so boys I got a challenge for ya here. Throw some creative ways to get some smoke bomb chicken. thighs, legs, breasts, whole doesn’t matter. Old lady was upset because her diet won’t let her have short ribs, or ribs of any kind really. I don’t normally eat chicken, but guess I do now.

we like all the smoke. primarily used white oak and hickory. Do I use a rub like I do for ribs? I’m not one for marinating more than a few hours if I’m honest.

Nicotine sick

so curious as to whether someone else also has this issue. I have always used nicotine pouches when working. I will go through one 7 or 8mg pouch ever hour to hour and a half. perfectly fine keeps me awake and alert plus it makes the day go by smoother. However I have an issue, as soon as my day is over I cannot throw another pouch in. if I do I will immediately get nicotine sick, even on the weekends where I’m not working at all a single dip will make me dizzy and want to throw up.

It only bothers me because nicotine works better than caffeine to get me moving and motivated. so unless I want to jump into hard labor on my days off, no nicotine for me at all.

Thoughts on the stihl 291?

so this is my first non pro stihl saw. used to cut timber in the Midwest. Previous saws stihl 261,400,461 and a 372 husky.

Not interested in the logging woods anymore just needed something to clear up brush and for 200$ I couldn’t pass it up. Think it’s worth keeping long term I’m not gonna be buying a thousand dollar saw to sit around in the shed 90% of the time.

Living outside of your local

so I’m 30 and looking to take the neiep entrance exam sometime in October. The union hall is three hours away, too far to travel everyday and relocating is out of the question. it just isn’t possible right now. So I guess my question is do apprentices travel (and get a company motel room lol) or am I going to be living out of my truck camper till I’m finished with the apprenticeship?

I would be driving home on my days off if possible. I know where I can park my truck at and truck stops offer showers. so I’ve got a game plan if it comes to the worst.

just a guy trying to change his stars and do better for his kids, any help of advice is appreciate.

2019 ram classic 1500 5.7 hemi 8speed mysterious knock 94k miles

So five thousand dollars and one month later I have the truck back. Shop dropped oil pan and inspected lower end bearings they were good, found excessive slack in lifters, pulled heads inspected cam. replaced lifters cam was spotless. No scoring of cylinder walls was found. Top end noise is gone but ITS STILL KNOCKING.

I have noticed the harmonic balancer is wobbling and will be replacing it soon. Could this noise be from the harmonic balancer it doesn’t sound like it but it is throwing engine balance off (truck shakes like it has a miss but only at idle speed and no miss detected on their scan tool) I also plan to do a power balance test to maybe get more insight.

any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Learning cybersecurity with zero IT experience

Is there anyway to learn in depth CS without going to a college or paying for a boot camp style course? I’m looking at CompTIA security+. (would this make someone hireable for an entry level position) I’m not REALLY looking to get into the career, but I’ve always been interested in the field. are there any free online courses or sources of information and a way to test my home grown skills?

Switching Careers

so I’m desperate for a life change. Im 30 years old home is in the middle of no where (cabool) Missouri. I’ve currently got a decent job (Trucking I’m home weekends and make 90-110k/year) but it’s getting old.

I dont have much formal training or education (I’ve got a few semesters of college in) I worked in the forestry industry from 15-20 I did construction (carpentry) for like a year and a half.

how does a guy supporting a family change his stars? Im fine with traveling as long as I can see my family some I’d like to get home more. The killer for me is the economy at 75K/year I’d barely be scraping by. Starting to feel like I’ll work this job till I die or AI replaces me.

2019 ram classic 1509 90k miles 8speed tic

So I bought the truck at 60k I’ve put 30 on it and it’s developed a loud tick from rear of engine. Had the shop pull oil pan couldn’t see anything wrong there. Had them pull valve covers check lifters. We thought we had a bingo. Lifters were going out, cam was 100% fine. 5,000$ later I’ve got new lifters and no more exhaust leak.

ITS STILL TICKING AND WE CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS. Anyone got any idea? maybe toraue converter bolts? its loudest under neath and behind the truck from the very back of motor.

Homeless in Missouri

how is someone supposed to get back on their feet. I have a relative who I just can’t bring into my home. (I have twice before and both times ended really bad)

they’re off the drugs but still can’t find any where to live or any long term homeless shelters. anyone have any advice? Im currently looking at trying to find a cheap camper and renting a spot for 150$/month but because of life situations I can’t finance anything right now. (I’ve got enough debt and a wife and kids I’m taking care of)

this is south eastern Missouri.

Is this a bed bug? Found in loaner 18 wheeler

please tell me this is a bat bug and not a bed bug. I only seen ONE and I looked literally everywhere for more. I sat on the mattress to dig out my bedding so I could make the bed. I noticed something crawling towards me and it was this thing.

24v Kobalt vs m12/m18

so anyone here made a switch from one to the othe? I’ve got m12 saws/drills/impact driver. Issue is most of my batteries have died, my last charger has died, the saw is worn out.
so I’m looking at either buy back into Milwaukee replace all the high dollar batteries AND pay more for the tools I need. (Angle grinder, impact wrench 3/8th compact 1/2inch high torque, and cordless ratchet)

or head out to the Lowe’s an hour away and just fully buy into the Kobalt line for less money and a better warranty.

Anyone wanna talk about their experience with the Kobalt line?

Blue tortie or dilute tortie?

This is our family cat. She randomly showed up one day when she was maybe a few weeks old. (teeth were clear and small not white)

Having a debate on whether she is considered a blue or dilute tortoise shell.
