Anyone else get gastritis from GLP-1s? How long to heal?

My gastritis started after taking Retatrutide, and it's been a brutal two months. PPIs did nothing for me. I'm currently on sucralfate and H2 blockers; they help a little, but I’m still dealing with heavy bloating after meals, trapped gas, and a burning/tingling feeling between my ribs.

If you got gastritis specifically from a GLP-1 agonist, what helped you recover and how long did it take?

9 weeks off Reta and still dealing with trapped gas/bloating/burping

Hey everyone.
I am currently 66 days (about 9 weeks) off Retatrutide and just wanted to share where I'm at. I am still suffering from intense trapped gas, heavy bloating, and a constant, stubborn need to burp just to get some pressure relief under my ribs.
The hardest part is that it comes and goes in waves—some days I can eat almost completely normally, but if I get anxious, stressed, or even excited, my appetite instantly vanishes and my stomach completely locks up. The gas just shifts around inside and won't come out.
My blood panels are completely perfect and healthy, but dealing with this everyday is exhausting. Anyone else deal with this specific trapped gas and bloating combo this far out? How long did it take to clear up?

Issues only after dose increase — worried about gastroparesis

Hey guys, 21M. I was doing fine on reta eating whatever until I increased my dose. After that I started getting reflux, nonstop burping episodes after drinking cola, nausea, pressure, and my digestion felt slowed down.
I stopped immediately and now im around 7 weeks off. I’m better now — hunger is back, I can eat normal portions , keep food down, and my bowel movements/gas are working.
But my stomach still feels sensitive:
pressure/fullness after eating
burping relieves it
sitting bent forward causes pressure
sometimes throat pressure/gag feeling
random upper stomach stings
I’m scared the dose increase caused gastroparesis. Has anyone had this after increasing dose and recovered after stopping?

GLP-1 issues only after dose increase — worried about gastroparesis

Hey guys, 21M. I was doing fine on GLP-1 for 3 months until I increased my dose from 0.5 mg to 1.5 mg. After that I started getting reflux episodes here and then, nonstop burping episodes, some nausea, pressure, and my digestion felt slowed down.

stomach sensitivity — anyone recovered?

Hey everyone, 21M. I was completely normal before this, never thought about my stomach.

After being on a GLP-1, I started getting reflux episodes around February/March. First it was occasional burning, then cola suddenly caused nonstop burping for 1–2 hours.

In April things got worse: constant burping, reflux, throat pressure, nausea/gag feelings and panic because I didn’t understand what was happening. I stopped GLP-1 around April 18.

I improved in May (appetite came back, eating more normally), but after pushing food too much around May 22 I flared again.

Now I can eat, get hungry, keep food down, and my bowels work — but my stomach feels hypersensitive. I notice stretching/fullness, sitting folded causes pressure, and sometimes it goes up my throat.

Feels like my gut nerves are “sunburned” and normal digestion feels too loud.

Has anyone recovered from this kind of GLP/reflux/dyspepsia sensitivity? How long until eating felt normal again?

AFTER GLP DOSE INCREASE!!!

Has anyone dealt with something similar after stopping a GLP-1?

I never had stomach issues before, but after increasing my dose my digestion slowed down a lot. I had nonstop burping, trapped gas, reflux/burning, globus feeling, bloating, and felt like food stayed in my stomach forever.

I stopped the GLP-1 on April 18. By early May I was improving a lot and could eat normally again, even pizza. But my health anxiety made me keep “testing” myself by overeating and stretching my stomach with big meals, chocolate, chips, etc. and I triggered another flare.

My GP prescribed omeprazole 20mg. I took it for 6 days and it helped the burning and excessive burping a lot, but I felt more bloated, had almost no appetite, felt weak, and my anxiety got worse.

Now I’m 3 days off omeprazole. The reflux and crazy burping are mostly gone, but I still have bloating, low appetite, fatigue, and anxiety around eating.

I’m still passing stool/gas. I just worry if my stomach and appetite will fully go back to normal again.

Anyone recover from something like this? How long did it take?

Side effects after dose increase

I wanted to see if anyone experienced something similar.
I used a GLP-1 medication and after a dose increase my digestion slowed down a lot. Before this I never had stomach issues in my life.
At my worst I had nonstop burping, trapped gas/chest pressure, globus (lump in throat), reflux/burning, bloating, and felt like food was sitting in my stomach forever.
I stopped the GLP-1 on April 18. From around May 2–12 I improved a lot and could eat normally again, even pizza. Then because of health anxiety I kept trying to prove I was “normal” by eating large meals and stretching my stomach (chocolate, chips, big meals, etc.). That seemed to trigger the flare again.
The symptoms came back: nonstop burping, upper chest burning, bloating, and stomach sensitivity.
I went to my GP and was prescribed omeprazole 20 mg for suspected reflux/stomach irritation. I took it for 6 days and the burning + excessive burping improved a lot, but I felt like it killed my appetite, increased bloating, made me feel weak/off, and worsened my anxiety.
Now I’m around day 3 off omeprazole. My remaining symptoms are mostly:
bloating
tight abdominal muscles
lower appetite
fatigue
health anxiety around eating
I’m still passing gas/stool and the reflux/globus is mostly gone.
My biggest fear is: will my stomach and appetite ever go back to normal? Did anyone recover after GLP-1-related slow digestion/reflux and stomach sensitivity? How long did it take?
