"" Don't you have any self respect? ""
Me = "" stop making up words ""
😂😂😂😂.
Like I remember how annoyed a lot of Adam fans got when the season two flashback aired and it showed him and Lute mistreating that other exorcist so it'd be funny imo if season three took it even further,
Like instead of making him seem more complex or less bad we get more flashbacks next season that just make him seem even worse like maybe we find out he straight up abused Abel in the afterlife or that like the fandom theorised at one point he did actually sexually abuse the exorcists including Vaggi
( Lute being an exception or heck maybe she even took part in it sometimes ),
Idk it'd just be amusing to me to see his fans get in a windup lol I mean I have no genuine ill will towards his fans but I just find it funny to think about in regards to the ones who really don't wanna accept him as a pure evil character 😂😂
even tho I'm fine with it since not every antagonist needs to have Depth and well despite how a lot of people act no particular villain/antagonist is more entitled to deeper writing than others,
So I enjoy Adam as he is and I say they may as well make him as evil as possible lol I'd love him even more for it make him as shitty as possible.
Ever since season two it gets talked about on a somewhat regular basis the idea of people like sir pentious ending up in hell despite having such a tame sin and someone like Adam being in Heaven despite being a terrible person
means that maybe your own feelings in regards to where you think you deserve to go contribute to Wether you go to heaven or hell and this theory seems to be fairly popular,
But tbh I really don't understand why? it seems like it very obviously does not compute with what we've seen of heaven and hell so far and sir pentious is literally the outlier so far rather than the norm
( and the Adam thing can literally be explained by him becoming worse during his time in Heaven )
since this would mean that countless terrible people would be in heaven due to not viewing themselves as deserving of hell and countless decent people would be in hell due to viewing themselves in a negative light for minor mistakes and actions,
Like how does this match up with what the show has shown us in regards to Heaven and Hell's average citizens so far? as so far what we've seen of Heaven makes everyone there seem over the top happy and nice
and what we've seen of Hell makes the majority of people seem over the top crappy so how does this match up with the idea that your own feelings about yourself determine where you go?
if anything by this logic Hell would probably be like fifty percent filled with mostly decent people who judge themselves as being worse than they actually are and Heaven would be like Idk seventy or eighty percent filled with terrible people who don't view themselves as deserving Hell at all like abusive religious people or literal genocidal dictators.
So a future Prediction for each show you've seen tossed around in the fandom a fair amount that you feel is fairly likely to happen in the future but regardless your still Hoping that they don't?
I think the two big ones for me would be fallen Lute and Crimson Dying What about you?
As I feel like this not actually being a choice that is down to Heaven's people sorta removes some interesting factors from the story and also adds problems to season two's plot that people have endlessly questioned and made fun of,
For starters I just think it would more neat for the narrative if there wasn't the convenient thing of God literally telling you who has changed for sure and who hasn't and instead it was just down to Heaven to have to take a risk and trust certain sinners are rehabilitated enough to be allowed into their realm
I feel like this aspect actually makes the initial conflict less complex and interesting because it isn't a case of Wether or not they should take a risk by giving second chances to sinners but instead its just a conversation about Wether or not its actually possible
which means the conflict isn't about human opinions and understandable character flaws but instead its just about not believing something can exist because they've literally never seen it exist,
Like I feel it would actually make Sera a better character if the same as Adam and Lute she did have the flaws of not believing in human's ability to change and having the fear of how all of this could lead to harm to Heaven if sinners were let in
instead of it just being a case that she does not believe something because she has never seen external proof that it can exist and then when she does she switches sides which is kinda like a parody of a character arc now that I'm typing it out loud since your so close to having a character have a very believable and human character flaw be a driving point for their actions but then you just go and remove the part of it that makes it a flaw on their part,
Like wouldn't it be a lot more interesting if Pentious was accepted into Heaven after his big act of Bravery proving a significant change in his character but Heaven isn't actually given some guarantee from God that he's really changed
and instead its quite a big leap of faith for them to actually let him in and it makes the debates over this stuff have actual weight since it isn't people debating over something which they can literally see with their own two eyes but over something which you can never really know for certain
and that is Wether an offender who was rehabilitated in prison has actually changed and will continue to be the same better person once they are let out,
Plus this whole thing of people literally not being able to get to Hell if your a winner or Heaven if your a sinner creates a lot of problems that the fandom has already discussed at length
but simply put if these were not factors then Vox's plan would make a lot more sense and Sera's fears and motivation would also make more sense since sinners can access Heaven its just very difficult due to Heaven being the bigger super power but Hell if it gets its act together like in season two can potentially be a threat,
Idk I guess it feels like this whole Divine judgment thing just removes a certain layer of the interesting aspect of the story about rehabilitation and people being allowed second chances in society among regular folk.
Recently in the fandom we had that whole trend of people making those charts of what boxes they thought certain characters fit into for them and in the underrated and overrated sections in a lot of cases we had people putting very overall popular characters in the underrated sections
and in some cases putting characters who are not generally regarded very Highly in the overrated sections and this got me thinking that despite during my time in the fandom seeing a lotta claims for under or overrated characters
I never actually see people give reasons for why they feel this way about certain characters even tho personally I never make such claims without stating why I think this so if there are any characters you think this way about
then please comment who but also try to actually think about and state your reasons for why you think they are under or overrated by the fandom?
Here's my one Emily,
Now the reason I feel this way isn't that I think its wrong for Em to be so popular or anything like that but I think a lot of people tend to sorta give her writing and overall character more credit than it really deserves when it comes to how deep of a character she actually is especially when it comes to the certain crowds of people
that ever since season two have been bashing Charlie and claiming that Em would have been a better main character instead and I'm just like really? so your saying if our lead character was a overly positive kind person whose beliefs never falter
and who has no real significant character flaws or growth and who has pretty surface level dynamics with everyone in her vicinity since she seems to just be simple friendly co workers with everyone in Heaven minus Lute who she seems to feel nothing but mild annoyance for
and when it comes to Sera their dynamic is just simple uncomplicated love that isn't even made more complicated by finding out her sister is a mass murderer since Em gets over it with no real development in season two and no real complicated feelings are implied to linger making it a pretty uncomplicated relationship,
So if she was the main character but she was literally written exactly the same as she is at present then I feel as tho the majority of people would actually complain about her lack of depth and growth and frankly I'd feel they'd be right to,
So in short emily is a very simple character she's just a conventionally easily likable cute cinnamon roll with a heart of Gold which is perfectly fine for a side character especially one that's literally an angel in Heaven 😂😂 so her being this way makes perfect sense
but I feel like people tend to overrate characters likability and confuse that for Depth and complexity in writing when if we've being Harshly Honest Em is technically a less complicated character than say Chaz in helluva lol,
Hear me out briefly Chaz has way less screen time than her but in his one canon episode he's portrayed as a self centered jerk who only cares about himself and is willing to do things like leave his boyfriend behind on a job to get arrested
yet is also shown as openly conflicted before doing so anyway implying that deep down there is a touch of either actual care for Moxxie or just basic empathy in there it just isn't enough to stop him from choosing himself over others and making the bad choice,
And he has the character flaw of being obnoxious and often making sexualised inappropriate comments yet after knocking Blitzo out when he's entirely alone Chaz shows a tiny bit of self awareness in calling out his own crappy joke showing he isn't 100 percent oblivious to how he is as a person,
The point isn't that Chaz is some super deep character lol the point is he literally has the bare bones of character Depth yet is Generally given less credit for writing than Emily and the reason is solely down to one being made to be conventionally likable and the other being made to be conventionally unlikable
but in actuality Emily's character is no more complex in writing and if anything actually has less Depth so far so this isn't to shit on Emily as a character or her fans I actually don't Hate her or anything I just feel a lot of people confuse her likability with her being a complex character when she's actually in a writing sense pretty One D
( again that's not an insult I love plenty of characters who are technically not very complex ),
But anyway so like I said whenever I state why I feel a character is over or underrated I do normally try to give an actual explanation so people can Hopefully understand why I feel this way so if you are going to comment please try to do the same and I'd be interested to read it.
So whoever you feel is a comfort character who will probably seem a bit unusual at least to some people? 😂😂.
Bit of a none serous nit picky question 😂😂😂😂,
Anyway personally I've never really liked Alastor's outfit its just kinda bland and blends in with the environment and isn't particularly nice to look at tbh I actually quite liked his alternative outfit during the "" Hells greatest dad "" song
As it was quite colourful and unique and stood out more from the environment and other outfits of characters so I wouldn't have mined this being his signature look tbh even if he didn't wanna keep the green skin lol,
Another one is Vaggie as again I just don't find her main outfit particularly nice to look at and it doesn't stand out much so I wouldn't mind her being giving a new signature look in future as well
( Me whispers = personally I wouldn't have minded her Easy look becoming her signature look given its more ya know free lol also she probably could have killed all the exorcists during the season one finale with looks alone if that had been her outfit 😏😏😏😏 ),
And I can't think of any others off the top of my head except of course for Husk whose current outfit is a lose and his pilot outfit was way better 😭😭,
What about you?
I feel like an issue is a lot of fans don't really think about what it would mean for other characters just that it'd be a cool visual and funny satisfying bit of irony but in terms of Sera's character it would honestly be a total regression
and would make Heaven look even worse if they literally created this problem and then enabled her to become worse over the years and then dumped her on Hell aka the one place where she's actually a threat to anyone in the population simply so once again the person in charge doesn't have to actually deal with the nitty gritty of her problems,
Since that's literally what Sera did with the exterminations where she created them and then passed off responsibility onto Adam which deffo gave him leeway to make them as bad as possible
so how can she claim to be changed and wanting to do better by hell if she's going to literally create a bloodthirsty soldier and then dump her on Hell when she becomes too much of a problem once again turning a blind eye to a problem she created rather than actually dealing with it herself and instead she'd be passing it off to the people she literally wronged,
So it'd not only be terrible for Sera and for Heaven's image but also it'd just be nonsensical since logically Hell citizens are the only people who Lute is a threat to since she Hates sinners and could devote herself to trying to get angelic steel and also we know she looks down on Hellborns as well who are a lot easier to kill,
So Divine judgment putting Lute in Hell and Sera allowing it to happen would not only be bad for the character growth she's meant to have gone on but also its just nonsensical since Lute is logically only a threat to the people of Hell so putting her in Hell literally helps no one except saving some people in Heaven from a bit of mild annoyance lol,
Like I said its a fun fanfic idea but I think the fandom tends to only think about this in the simplest aspects of it being a satisfying punishment but not really ever giving it any deeper thought as to how bad it would actually make others look and how illogical it would actually be.
Its been over Two and a Half years since "" Oops "" like come on Viv feed me at least some scraps to keep me alive until season three 😭😭😭😭,
( on a serous note tho it could maybe give a little extra set up for next season either by showing Crim in present or heck it could even be a flashback short to Moxxie's upbringing and showing a little more of the dynamic with his dad now that could be kinda neat ).
I used to love the theory of Lute falling but tbh over time the more and more I've thought about it the more I have started to Hope that it ultimately won't end up happening I mean don't get me wrong
I still see some cool potential in it but at the same time I feel like it would kinda be too impractical and shitty of Heaven for it to actually happen in canon so maybe it would be better off left in fanfic territory,
As the issue is that regardless of Wether its Sera herself or Divine judgment it would be really crappy of Heaven to do this since Lute is very much a problem they created and one whose only really a threat to people in Hell
yet they would be dumping her on Hell's doorstep making her their problem since Lute would now have access to as many sinners as she wants
( also Hellborns who need I remind you do not require angelic steel for her to kill and Lute is perfectly willing to kill them )
and even if she is robbed of all her weapons and starts as an average sinner she has the skills and the determination to do what it takes to get her hands on Angelic weapons and once again become a threat to pretty much any random Hell folk she comes across,
So Heaven deciding to do this wouldn't actually solve the problem of Lute for anyone but themselves which would seem really shitty of them tbh especially since they literally created her and enabled her to get worse over the years,
While I am honestly hoping that Lute can turn things around and start to redeem herself by the end of her villain run but if she doesn't then at the very least I feel like a better ending would be Sera accepting her as her burden and striping her of her access to Hell
and her exorcist rank and ensure personally she is never a threat to sinners or Charlie again by keeping her in Heaven where they can keep her eye on her themselves and maybe try to rehabilitee her in other ways over the years
rather than just dumping her at Hell's doorstep and being like
"" yeah sorry we kinda created and enabled this trained killer who hates all of you and wants to slaughter you but she's your problem now byeeeee ""
like I said I get the people who want fallen Lute to happen given the satisfying irony and possible development it could lead to but I feel we kinda can't look past how actually shitty of Heaven it would be,
And honestly it would just set Sera back as a character as well to have this happen since she'd literally be doing the same thing she did with the exterminations by avoiding responsibility for her actions
and dumping it on Adam and Lute which allowed him to run wild with them for years so she could turn a blind eye and have an easy life so Dumping a problem Heaven created and enabled in Hell would be her literally just repeating her major sin and it doesn't help anyone except themselves lol,
So yeah while it may be fun to think about for a cheap bit of satisfaction and is an interesting fanfic idea but fallen Lute I feel would actually just be downright bad to happen in canon given how it would make Heaven look.
I really feel like we all need some positivity so lets all think about what our absolute favourite dynamics are in the show?
( yes obviously I had to include Crimson and Alessio despite their criminal lack of screen time 😭😭).
So the most angsty theory/idea that you've had when thinking about what could possibly happen in the future that is definitely very unlikely to actually happen? lol run wild,
One angsty idea I had is that after next season spends a significant amount of time showing Millie and Moxxie separately dealing with their own fears and insecurities over possible parenthood but stubbornly refusing to Burden each other with their fears
but by the end of the season they have both decided that they do maybe want to be parents and are finally ready to talk to each other after getting Help from their other loved ones only for Mox to be taken by his Dad when on his way to see Millie,
So its this somber cliff-hanger to end the season where Millie is left standing alone waiting for Mox and then in season four there's been a time jump where Millie has already had the baby and Mox has been held captive by his dad for a long time
essentially just keeping him as a slave as he's gonna serve the family and remain loyal one way or another in Crimson's mind and by the time Blitz and Millie finally figure out what happened to him and save him he's been mentally messed up to the point that he is not the same Moxxie that he was before and isn't really mentally capable of being an assassin anymore or even a parent
( at least not the kind who can equally share the load with Millie ya know ),
Ooooh just thinking about the angst gives me power 😂😂😂😂.
( This image of baby Moxxie is melting my heart 😭😭)
As we the audience see the shoe wash up but its unclear Wether Moxxie actually did see it or not since it was a bit of distance away so I am curious as to how much he actually knows about his mother's disappearance and Wether Crim would have been Honest about it over the years
maybe framing it as something he did for the good of the family so she didn't drag them down by making them weaker and has used it to install even more fear in Mox in the past that he'd do the same to him if he ever became too "" weak "",
Or do you think he would have lied about it? maybe claiming she was either killed by Rivals or he could have possibly claimed that she just abandoned them which would be kinda fucked up
( imagine if he told tiny Moxxie that she left because of him ) or maybe it could just be a case where she vanished one day and Crimson literally never let them talk about it and Moxxie just had to bite his tongue over it
but over the years either figured it out or at least had vague suspicions that he never voiced out loud,
Idk what do you think? I Hope this comes up in future where its either mentioned by Mox or maybe revealed by Crimson to Mox.
So pick a character or characters from either show who currently you either are just meh about or downright dislike and try and think of ways you think the show could change your opinion on them in future?
( Btw I'm meaning characters who you don't like in terms of writing so please no cases like saying you dislike people like Val or Vox but purely for their actions but have no issue with their writing as that's kinda a different thing to what I'm talking about,
However if you do genuinely dislike or find any villain characters meh purely for the way that they are written then that's perfectly fine and by all means pick them but I'm just saying if you dislike a villain as a person but have no issue with their writing then that isn't really truly disliking the character imo ),
So who would you pick and what would you do with them?
