Baylan Skoll - Light sabre color question

I'm doing a Baylan Skoll cosplay. Studying way too much fine detail stuff - anyway...

All of the really nice light sabers I see sold for it have a brass colored pommel. Yet, when I watch the show and take still frames every single frame I can capture, it looks black to me.

Am I nuts? Color blind? Or is there some known factor about this that I'm unaware of like it changed midway through filming, or lighting made it look black but was really brass? etc.

Main site scheduled down time

I have nothing to do with this - just sharing what I see since I didn't see any official mention of it anyplace but on the site itself.

Common right-click menu for common actions

I can't be the first person to ask this... Basically its a "what am I missing here?" but also... Am I that confused? Why does this program not have some REALLY STANDARD things like a right-click action menu on photos.

Select a photo - right click -

  • export
  • Go To file

Or at the absolute minimum, somewhere show me the full file path to the photo. I feel like I'm on a treasure hunt to locate the image if its been a couple months since importing it.

Does the file name give indication to reason for color swap?

UPDATE:

OK - Thanks everyone for the info and pointing in the right direction. Yeah suprisingly a PITA to convert. Easier to find different downloads now that I know what to avoid. Thanks!

I have several of this season, same 2160p, seem to be same naming convention and DSNP source etc. Yet - 4 of them have what looks like a color channel swap. The others are fine.

Once I have them I can look at the codec information see there is a difference, but when downloading 4g-5g file sizes I'd really rather not waste my time.

OR - Anyone know the exact nature of that color swap and how to reverse it? I'm happy to run it through handbrake if I know what I need to do with it.

Material and/or tips for application to 'performance wear' shirt (IE: UnderArmor)

I have searched quite a bit, but any article that applies to this kind of material is so old I assume its out of date and doesn't account for new materials/products that have come out in the last several years.

I'm looking for tips and product recommendations for putting a name on this stretchy, form fitting, slick, thin type of UnderArmor shirts.

https://www.amazon.com.au/Under-Armour-HeatGear-Compression-1361524-001/dp/B0874V8THD

The applique will only be a name on the side of the chest/breast area kinda like a badge, about 8cm wide by 3cm tall, but I'd like it to not do all sorts of weird puckering effects - nor loose its adhesion from stretchy by the 5th wear.

  • Is there a particular type of vinyl that is better for this type of stretch material?
  • Any tips for application that don't destroy the shirt itself?

Just try them both side-by-side

There's so much talk about Plex client going to sh!t and people wondering if its worth flipping over to Jellyfin. So...

You don't have to 'flip over' from one to the other. Jellyfin will install side-by-side with Plex. No need to wonder. Just install it and point it at your same libraries.

They will share the media just fine. You can test out Jellyfin or another server program now while you still run Plex. If you like it you can slow migrate. Move one TV over at a time. Or one tablet. Or one family shared house.

I'm still on Plex because my lifetime PlexPass was like $50 so I'm good. But even I recognize that the client programs are becoming increasingly enshitified so it's probably going to be forced on me at some point.

I run both because I know one day I'll be flipping over which client I'm using. So its easier to spend 5 minutes a week to keep both server software's on parity than to deal with a massive change over all at once.

Here there are side-by-side… well… one above the other. Its "same only different"… like there's any difference between a Toyota and Mazda anymore - Speedometer on the left or right. Same here. Do you want "Continue Watching" or "Up next" ??

At most - There's minor differences in naming conventions of files if you track different `editions` like 'Theatrical` and `Directors Cut` etc.

[Unknown > English] Text in the image

I tried to feed this to an online translator but the circular text seems to be too much for it.
Basically wasn't thrilled this kind of thing is on the back of a car in a Western society like Australia. But trying to give it the benefit of the doubt until I find out what it actually says.

If anyone can identify the language and translate it I'd appreciate it.

343 Concept art - Where?

I see plenty of posts throughout the 'net… various platforms where people have used 343 concept art of one type or another... gun art... costume art... vehicles... whatever.

*Where* are folks getting these? I guess I must be the only person out in the wild that doesn't know where these get stored/released/shared.

[UPDATE]
So what I'm getting from the responses is "you have to scour the internet". Some here, some there, some ArtStation, some get posted from the artists via instagram. Well at least I'm not blind, crazy or just inept at searching; because I really thought that after seeing so many all in the same theme/style that they are all from the same 343 source location. I was thinking:

>"These look like they just *have* to be coming from the same secret directory on their website or something". Or maybe you have access if you're a subscriber to some tier or something.

But I guess not. Thanks everyone.

I've gotten back in to shooting again after years now that I'm near someplace were I have cool subject matter again.

So now that I have 'the bug' again, I'm consider upgrading. I've been out of the scene a while.

I have a 7d (original not MK-II), with a sigma 50-500mm lens. (and other stuff, a ton of other stuff, lenses, filters, P-Frame filters, and and and)

Am I reading right that the 7d being an EF/EF-S lens system, and the R series being an RF lens system that I'd need all new lenses as well? Basically have to sell off the entire 7D system complete and just start over in the Rxx family with all new body, lenses, filters, ... the works?

I'd probably just go for a second hand R8 and comparable 500mm lens and call it good: I don't need to replace the wide variety of gear I once had for numerous situations.

But with the age of the 7D... Its still probably going to be a rather expensive update - isn't it?

I'm not talking about changing content - Firefly is already perfect.

But even the bluray release looks like a 24 year old show. It looks... 'broadcast quality' with noise, all the shadows blend to mud. Its really obvious in the space scenes, darker ship corridor scenes etc.

I would love to see Firefly get a professional remaster like Star Trek TOS got, but that's big bucks.

But with Firefly getting this new found attention surrounding the continuation through animated stories - seems like the right time for this.

If I can clean up a frame grab this much in a free photo editor in about 3 minutes with my limited skills, then it seems an experienced person could do wonders. Right?
