I am an Indian (23F). When I was 15 or 16 years old, I rattled my younger sister out to my parents about her boyfriend. I thought the boy was a bad guy as we all were in the same school and he was friends with the bad boy gang. She is an extrovert and had male friends. My mother and grandmother often caught her flirting and checking out boys (this is what they told me but I don't know how of this is true). Recently, I apologised to my sister for ruining her teenage. She said what had been done can't be changed, so there is no point in apologising.
My biggest regret is ruining her reputation in front of my family. My mother often slut-shamed her for her boyfriend and "flirtation" and I never stopped her. My sister would use curse words for me and my mother, and I defended my mother as I used to think she was the victim in this. I blindly supported my mother and hated my sister. Now my sister never tells anything about her life because she thinks she would face character assassination.
My sister often lied and I told the truth to my parents as I used to think it is bad to lie to your parents but I realised there was no other option for her. This is why my mother never trust her.
We all still love each other and would always have each other's back but my mother and sister will never trust each other.
I often think that maybe my mother trusts me because I was her confidante and I was her only emotional support when she was worried for my sister's future. I took it upon myself to give my mother a better life but never saw her mistakes.
Can I correct my past mistakes or is it too late? I don't know how to feel about my mother?
I come from a strictly vegetarian Indian family. We don't even add onion and garlic in our food. Omly Jain diet and values are followed. In my early 20s, I realised how much this is entrenched in casteism. I decided to rebel against my values and eat chicken. But this would have been a rebellion if my family knew. So after some time, I told my family.
My maternal grandmother, who I love and care deeply about, got really emotional. She was talking to me in shivering voice and crying. I felt really guilty and promised I would not eat non veg food again. She does not love me as much as she loved me before. But it felt liberating when the truth came out and the reason as well. I could not convince them, though.
I also realised I started eating chicken because I wanted my actions to match my thoughts. Now, I feel a weird discomfort. Maybe because the wound is still fresh. I am also upset with myself for causing so much pain to my grandmother. Any thoughts?
I am a content writer. I have always had insecurity about my writing skills. Recently, I have started noticing my grammatical errors, and they are making me think that I am an incompetent writer. For example, I wrote her interest range from x, y to z instead of interests. Also, I wrote future occurrence instead of future occurrences. I also failed a copyediting test because I was not able to edit a 500-word article in 15 minutes. Now I am unable to decide if it was time constraint or my incompetence as a writer.
Whenever an opportunity comes that can alter my life completely but need me to perform the best, I get anxious and procrastinate. I need a calm mind to work on something. I cannot afford to make a mistake and an anxious heart is prone to making mistake. How do I calm myself down and not procrastinate?

I have recently accepted a job offer only out of fear of unemployment. A few days after accpetance, I saw an opportunity that aligns with my career goals. I want to apply for this job. Should I mention in my application where I am working currently? If I do so, I think, this would automatically lead to rejection as it will show them that I have joined an organisation only a few days ago, and I am unreliable.
I was assumed to be an intelligent student in class because I used to respond to almost every question. Then people assumed I'd be the topper as well. But turned out, I stood third in the class in sem 1 result. In the final examination, I am not even among the top 5. People used to think I was a studious child and considered me smart but now I feel embarrassed and ashamed. I did not even manage to win a competition I was so sure I'd win because I was scared about failing and thus, procrastinated. Winning it seemed impossible until a batchmate of mine won it without having the skills the job required.
I failed a very simple job test. I knew it when the test ended but I was praying for some miracle. But miracles don't happen to me. It was a simple test, an easy gateway to a job that aligns closely to my interests. I had only 1 hour to solve 4-5 questions. I spent more than 30 minutes on one and panicked. This didn't give me time to perform my best in otjer questions. I feel terrible. What worse is that I have all the degrees and certificates to prove I am a perfect fit and yet I failed. I feel incompetent.
Yesterday, I had an important test for a job in a company that had rejected me twice in the past. I almost did not give the test as I knew failing would mean third rejection. But I prepared and appwared for it. Questions were easy but I panicked as it took more than required time to answer one question. I haphazardly answered the rest of the questions and made several mistakes. It was really easy to get the job and yet I failed. Though I know I was competent for the job but there is very thin possibility of getting thw job now.
I have recently had a setback in life. I failed at a job test where everyone, including me, expected me to succeed. I had been preparing for it during my entire post graduate and was better at it than others in my entire class. But then the chance came, not once but twice, to prove myself. Everyone knew I would succeed but I failed and others won. The second hand embarassment that came along shattered my confidence.
Those of you reading my post, have you ever been in a situation where everyone expected you to win but your friend won despite not even trying or hoping to win? How did you deal with it?
I have faced so many failures in just 23 modest years of my life that I feel like no matter how much hard I work I will fail. It is so embarrassing for me. I am never the winner when the competition is tough. I always have to settle for less and share my victory with someone. Why can't I just be the one.
I am drowing into the sea of self-hate currently. Last year I was going through a breakup and was not able to focus on anything. I would just scroll and sleep. I came across a life-altering opportunity and my friends pushed me to apply for it. I kept on procrastinating because my self-esteem had taken a real bad hit. I used to deal with lack of self-confidence even before the relationship but whatever there was left, had gone after the breakup. I applied for the opportunity but my efforts were not sufficient. I know I was a deserving candidate. I still am. But I just didn't put in enough efforts. Someone else has won it and now I can't help but hate myself.
I have heard so many people saying that they drowned themselves in work after breakup and emerged as winners in their professional life. It didn't happen with me. I would just sleep for 15 hours to stop overthinking. I didn't do so much as I could have.
A guy friend who has a gf told me that one of his female friends said "I love you to him" during his undergrad days and a few days later, he reciprocated her feelings and said the same thing. Nothing happened between them as he already had a gf at that time but he still misses her friendship. How should I respond to that?
Has anyone ever scene or met a couple where neither of them ever cheated on the other? Cheating is being normalised in the society and it has become quite widespread. The upcoming bollywood film Pati Patni aur woh do is quintessential example of the current situation. Men get a free pass after cheating and victimise themselves after getting caught. I feel so hopeless about finding love ever and scared, too.

Why is the process of loving someone so unfair? You give so much to someone and then you get cheated on or they get bored of you or worse, you find out that you were just a rebound. I feel hopeless and this has pushed me into a perpetual state of anxiety.
