Time for a themed party, Team

The new season is nearly upon us. We are hungry, and we need to eat.

What should we make for our Wilderness themed feast?

What should we hunt and how should we prepare for this feast on the evening of the premier?

I’m having visions of lots of drinks that are suspiciously red, but my imagination with planning a hunt is limited and I need your help.

What would you feed your savage woodland clan for your Yellowjackets watch party?

P.s. This unhinged post was written by a vegetarian so please keep that in mind with your feast themed recommendations

The shameful ‘C’ Gate Conspiracy makes it hard to deny that the LEVEL of criticism the final season received was fueled by the bandwagon and mob-mentality

If you just ‘didn’t like’ Stranger Things 5 then this post doesn’t apply to you.

The point is that the absurd level of hate received after watching four full seasons of the show AND completely finishing the season, indicates that the INTENSITY of the criticism was learned from the internet.

If it was as bad as people are saying it was, they would have stopped watching.

I can’t give you an exact reason as to why the bandwagon blew up as it did. I’m not a psychologist. But, I believe it should not be overlooked how so many people seemed to be predisposed to disliking final seasons, and others do not.

This is not meant to cause an argument or upset anyone. It is meant to deeply consider the psychological effects of Final Seasons and how people’s opinions of them are influenced.

If you want to make the claim that people are not influenced by the internet, this post likely isn’t for you either.

The point being, truth is NOT defined by the bandwagon mentality and ‘majority opinion’.

If that was the case, the world and the US would look a lot different today.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Listening at night is way better than listening during the day

Does anyone else wait all day during the summer for the sun to set before listening to your audiobook?

I just find it so much more immersive to be able to listen to audiobooks at night. Especially scenes that are fast paced, creepy, and/or climactic.

That doesn’t mean I won’t listen to them during the day. I just prefer to save the best parts for listening at night. I feel like I can see every scene play out like a movie, and that happens best when it’s completely dark out.

Can anyone else relate? 🤔

This will probably be the shortest promotion cycle in AHS history 😩

Season 13 should be premiering in around 3 months or less 😱

We still don’t know the exact title and we haven’t even had a single real trailer with any footage.

This could end up being a really good thing though. I mean we obviously know the setting or at least part of it, and we know a lot of the characters who will be in it. I just really can’t wait to get SOME kind of footage or even title.

I really miss the days when they would launch super creepy and mysterious clips and we would all theorize about what the next season would include and how it might connect to the previous ones.

I’ve had a theory since the beginning that they are all eternally trapped in some Dante’s Inferno type of prison with different levels, where their souls are recycled and forced to endure painful moments over and over without end — like how some of the witches got stuck in papa legba land (Misty, Queenie, Madison)

So, what do you all think? Will this end up working out since we know so much already, or are you really missing the old promotion style too?

Ps. Give me all the Constance Langdon haha… make the entire season about her and I will die happy lol

Is reading IT worth it after watching the movies and knowing the twists?

I’ve seen the IT movies quite a few times and am very familiar with the lore. Would it still be worth it to go back and read the book knowing everything that’s going to happen?

I feel like it won’t be nearly as terrifying :(

LF An Author to Brainstorm

Hello!

I’m looking for someone who is also writing a HP fanfic featuring OC characters and would be interested in exchanging ideas and critiquing each others work.

My story takes place in modern wizarding America and follows a collector of powerful magical artifacts in an advanced degree program at Ilvermorny.

It is intended to be a fast paced epic fantasy saga and I’d like to team up with someone who is interested in writing a similar style long fic.

Please reach out if you’d be interested in brainstorming and bouncing ideas around!

Does the HBP feel really short after OOTP?

Is it just me or does the HBP feel SO short right after finishing OOTP?!

GoF is my favorite book. It felt like OOTP was just way too long and it kind of felt like it was packed with filler episodes.

Then HBP comes along. I feel like I JUST started it and now I’m half way through. It’s like OOTP was WAY too long and then HBP was a little too short.

I know I’m knit picking but I really just wish HP could go on forever. I also know it would probably be trash if it did 😭

Character Inspiration

Does anyone else get a lot of their OC inspiration from actors and actresses?

As soon as I can think of an actor or actress that fits the image of a character I’ve had brewing in mind, my thoughts go into overdrive and I’m able to build this whole new personality for them.

I find the characters feel a lot more believable and interesting to me that way.

Does anyone relate to this or find this counterproductive?

Edit: please drop an example of someone you’ve based a character on if you can! My personal favorite is Jessica Lange

Audiobooks like Full-Cast HP

Hello!

I’m looking for audiobooks like the Full-Cast HP Audiobooks with music, sound effects, and an actor for each voice. I’d prefer the fantasy genre.

I’ve heard of a LotR production and would like to start with that.

Are there any others you’d recommend?

A ‘New’ Dark Lord from Ancient Times

I’m writing a fic about a ‘new’ dark lord who is actually an ancient evil force lost to time. It is a powerful demon-like sentient entity that is the origin of some of the darkest magic in the Wizarding World.

I wanted to separate this being from Voldemort by creating an aesthetic based solely on ‘death magic’ but without snakes and serpents.

However, because I want this entity to be connected to many other dark wizards from the past (characters that are canon and created by Rowling but don’t appear in the main series), it feels like using the serpent aesthetic could be the unifying idea behind all these dark wizards.

So, what do we think? Should this dark lord be the original serpent with which these dark wizards from the past drew their inspiration? Or should this dark lord have an entirely unique aesthetic and imagery free of snakes? 🐍

New HP OC Fanfics

Are people still reading OC fanfics in the wizarding world?

I’ve wanted a new wizarding world story so bad I decided I have to write it myself (the story I’m writing is about a collector of powerful magical artifacts).

Are people still reading OC HP stories or is nobody going to seven see that it exists?

What TIME does the Boroughs release at?

Is this countdown correct?

This would match up with a midnight central time release. Most Netflix originals release at midnight pacific. Does anyone know exactly what time the show drops?

It’s between Crimson Desert, Elden Ring, and Dragonage Veilguard

Please rate these games from best to worst.

Games I’ve played and loved in the past: Hogwarts Legacy, World of Warcraft, New World, Marvels Spider-Man, Jedi Survivor, and all Half-Life games (my personal favorite)

Thanks for your help!

Help With Fanfic Name

Hello!

I'm in the process of writing a new HP fanfic. I've needed a new story in the Wizarding World so bad, that I decided to write one myself.

However, something feels wrong and off with every name I can think of for the series.

The books will cover a 'collector' of magical objects. Each book in the series will feature a new and powerful artifact. The main character is in his last year of an advanced degree program at Ilvermorny where he studies and stores these powerful magical artifacts.

In the first book, something very powerful and secret is stolen from the American Ministry of Magic that a group of dark wizards intend to use to change the Muggle and Wizarding World forever.

Below are some of the names for the series I've been considering:

The Antiquarium and the...

The Artifact Codex and the...

The Artifact Archive and the...

The Last Collector and the...

I have no attachment to any these and am totally open to something entirely different. In each case 'and the' will be followed by the name of the magical object that the book is focused on.

Thinking of names and titles is hands down the hardest part for me in writing, so thank you for your help!

Please also feel free to rate from one to ten the names I've already listed! My goal is to make this feel as close as possible to a real Harry Potter story in every way.
