Meet Athena :)

Found her wondering on the street late one night and she followed me all the way home. Slept on my front porch for 2 days before I finally did something, after getting her checked she officially became a member of the family. It’s been about 2 months now and come to find out this baby was pregnant so now we’re gonna have puppies any day now

Abandoned store, bar and home in Texas

My daughter has long been fascinated with abandoned buildings and even looks up the history of them. I had planned to do some "urban exploring" on this road trip to sate her curiosity.(and hers has rubbed off on me, now I am curious too!) We saw it as we zipped by and turned around. Then found the doors wide open tho heavily over grown. It was heavily deteriorated and the roof falling down. We saw an abandoned house next door, probably the owners home. We researched that it had closed down in 2013. Seems like alot of decay in just 13 years. It was pretty creepy and cool! I included pics a few more abandoned places we saw and stopped to take pics but none were open to explore like this one.

Greenspoint Mall, Houston Texas

Abandoned mall in Greenspoint, Houston Texas. Opened in 1976 as an upscale premium shopping center, it declined through the late 1990s before closing in July 2024.

These photos were taken just over a month before its two-year anniversary of abandonment.

Abandoned Goat House 🐐 🏡

Apparently the owner passed away and this property was left vacant and forgotten until new owners recently bought it and started fixing the place up. Used to be goats on the property but couldn’t get close enough to them for a good picture, the goats have been relocated and are no longer on the property.

Abandoned High School in a small town. Built in the early 1930’s, forced to close due to newer and bigger schools being built around it. Class of 2012 was the final class to graduate from here.

This is a Futuro house, designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen and was originally designed as a “portable” ski chalet. Only about 100 were built during the 1960s and 1970s due to production being stopped in 1973 because the oil crisis caused plastic prices to triple.

It is estimated that about 50 to 60 of the original Futuro houses are still around today. These iconic fiberglass “UFO” structures are scattered globally with roughly 19 believed to remain in the United States.
