What's the best way to transfer your deposit to Europe?

I chose a doctor in Poland (Emil George, he's moving there soon).

The clinic said they have other US patients who do this without any issues, but they didn't know what specifically it is that they normally do.

I was thinking, is it best to use a service like Transferwise? Or just do it directly through my bank or something?

I have Schwab as my main bank, and Ally, and Capital One as spares.

What are the legendary boba places in LA or Irvine?

I heard those are the boba capitals of the US, so where should I go to find that out for a fact?

And what would you say I should order?

Is it fine to find parking at the Packers game tomorrow?

I live in Dormont but I've never been to a Steelers game. My cousin is visiting and is dragging me to it, and I'm wondering about the logistics.

Does the fact that it's a preseason game mean there won't be tons and tons of people like there normally are? Or it doesn't matter, and it's better for me to get off work early and walk to Potomac Station and hope my boss won't get mad?

Just found out the “celebrity surgeon” I chose has a bunch of malpractice lawsuits

This is for a TT combined with abdominal etching (aka high-definition liposuction), and we’re talking about Dr. Douglas Steinbrech in NYC. The fact that he’s a “celebrity surgeon” is annoying because to me that’s synonymous with overpriced. But apart from that he was perfect.

* He focuses exclusively on men

* He does abdominal etching on all his abdominoplasties

* He has many recommendations from redditors, which is extra nice because reddit just doesn’t recommend a whole lot of doctors for TTs on men

* He’s within driving distance (albeit it would be a rough 6-hour drive)

* He advertises some weird “male model makeover” on his website, so that makes me think the man has an eye for artistic and aesthetics, as opposed to other surgeons who are just problem solvers

* The fact that he’s a “celebrity surgeon” should mean he’s *good* and *reputable*, right? Otherwise where would he get that reputation in the first place

But of course, I do my due diligence anyway, research the man, and lo and behold… he has **ten** lawsuits across two different states.

How is that even possible? Do other patients just not research their doctors? Or do they just not care about a history of malpractice complaints?

What does celebrity surgeon even mean anyway? Does it mean celebrities go to see him? Or does it mean he has a following on social media and finds a lot of patients that way?

Now that I think about it, maybe this isn’t even such a big deal. He must have done what, 2000 or 3000 surgeries? So that’s less than a 0.5% ratio of malpractice, 99.5% chance of greatness.

Ahh who am I kidding, if it was two or three lawsuits I think I’d have a point, but ten is absolutely insane.

Is there any place that makes a cheesesteak similar to Mama's Pizzeria in King of Prussia?

RIP to my best cheesesteak in the world, feels like I lost a loved one.

When I say "similar", I mean a cheesesteak place that is not only good, but also does one of two things:

  1. Makes their own personal blend of different types of cheeses (it was so funny when I asked the guy at Mama's more about their cheese and he talked to me like I was trying to commit corporate espionage)

  2. In the absence of #1, a place that will actually load up on cheese when I ask for extra cheese

What your thoughts on Dr. Steinbrech in NYC?

I'm thinking of going out of town to a doctor with a better reputation who specializes in men. NYC is nice because it's drivable (I live in Pittsburgh).

Dr. Steinbrech is in my radar, but what are your thoughts about him? And does anyone have any idea on his pricing? I'm happy to pay more money for a better/safer outcome, but I'm worried about how much more money. The consultation alone is $400, while my local surgeons charged $100.

And I've read some comments calling him a celebrity doctor. Do you think that makes he's top-tier, or do you think it means he's better at marketing than he is at surgeries?

I also have Dr. Lakim in Michigan on my radar, and Dr. Emmanuel De La Cruz in Houston, although the latter is a bit scary because I'd be forced to fly home.

My two surgeons disagreed and now I'm not sure what to think

I'm looking to do an abdominoplasty because I was 230-235 lbs ten years ago, but now I'm 165 (6'1, male, 34yo).

The first surgeon started talking about a mini-TT, but then changed his mind and decided I'm a better candidate for a full TT. So I was like okay that sounds good.

Then I met with the second surgeon, and he decided I'm not a good candidate for a TT at all, and refunded me and referred me to this other surgeon in town who does abdominal etching (hi-def lipo).

Not sure what to think. For what it's worth, not sure if you think it makes a difference, but the first surgeon said he does 150 (!) abdominoplasties a year, while the second one said he does 25.

Does anyone have anything *negative* to say about the work of Dr. Ratchathorn or Dr. Emil George?

I've done a ton of research into a lot of doctors, and these two are the clear front-runners for me. Dr. Emil has been putting up multiple impressive results recently, while Dr. R needs no introduction.

I'm tired of reading high praise though. Does anyone have anything negative to say? I don't care about cleanliness or communication skills right now, only the doctors' work or their technicians' work.

I'm hoping for something like

> Check out this post I'm linking, this result was not good at all

Or

> Doctor got too popular and lets the technicians do all the work, it's practically a hairmill now

Or there's nothing negative and they're both impeccable and immaculate and I'd be lucky to have either as my surgeon?

Who do you consider the best surgeons in the world at the $7/graft or less price point, and without a waitlist longer than say 8 months?

reddit.com
u/valkaress — 2 months ago

What's going on with the waitlist for Dr. Laorwong vs Dr. Ratchathorn?

I contacted both and Dr. R's next available date is almost a year from now, which makes sense. But Dr. Laorwong's schedule is wide open. I could get on a plane next week and do the surgery if I wanted.

How is that possible? They're both part of the same clinic. And can we agree that they're both world-class surgeons? And both only do 1 long or 2 short surgeries per day. I don't get it.

The only difference I could find is that Dr. R is in reddit's list of recommended surgeons, while Dr. L isn't there anymore. But surely the percentage of actual real-world patients who care about that list has got to be tiny?

How I draw my desired hairline?

https://imgur.com/a/FZeS8Nt

Sounds like a stupid question, but I doubt it's something I want to mess up.

I've started contacting surgeons, and was asked to edit a photo showing my desired hairline. I want a good-looking, natural-looking hairline, but I'm confused as to what that translates when it comes to drawing a hairline.

I'm 34 now, almost 35. I was looking through some photos of my younger years, even when I was 22, and it seems like I've always had some version of a receding hairline.

Do you think I should try to draw it so that it matches what I had in my younger years?

Or do it like I see in google images, where it's just a straight line with no receding hairline at all? This is what I'd lean towards, but I'm not sure if it's like a bad thing for some weird reason.

Not sure, any advice?

Should I buy a 12V-2x6 cable to protect my 4090?

I had a Cablemod 90-degree adapter but it overheated and fused together, after 3.5 years of use. Had to pay $200 for someone to solder in a new connector, but it went mostly well.

Now I'm using the Cablemod 12VHPWR cable I bought alongside the adapter, but I'm wondering if I should just replace it with its 12V-2x6 successor? Sort of an insurance policy? You think it's worth it?

And if so, where should I buy it? Can I just buy it anywhere, or is there a benefit to buying directly on Corsair's website? I mention Corsair because they made my PSU, it's a Corsair HX-1200W Platinum.

Planning on a hair transplant. Any advice?

https://imgur.com/a/jryIo6K

In a couple months I'll turn 35. I've been on fin for almost 2 years. It seems to have stabilized my hair loss pretty well, but of course didn't grow my hairline back.

Thus, really my main goal with the transplant is to have a natural-looking hairline again. Do you agree with that, or do you think there's another goal I should also consider? I suppose saving a good amount of my donor area isn also not a bad idea.

With that in mind, are there any surgeons you recommend who would be a great choice for me, meaning that they specialize in hairline design? I've been doing a lot of research on the top surgeons, and Reddit has great resources, but it's more of a general list and doesn't say anything about who specializes in what, so that's where I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

Also, I'm estimating I'll need like 2,000 grafts. Do you agree with that, or you'd throw out a different number? Obviously different surgeons will come up with different numbers.
