Long term durability of matics?

I’ve been reading other subreddits and there are plenty of horror stories about Mova, Roborock, Dreame, etc.—vacuums that become unrepairable once the warranty ends, or units that get lost in the company’s warehouse with no liability on their end. Just curious if anyone has experience with Matics after the warranty expires?

It sounds like since Matic is a much smaller company customer service is better.

What happened to Aussie Drongo?

He hasn’t been streaming for a month. And what’s up with people missing Aussie Drongo’s YouTube uploads but not Demu’s? Demu imo is a solid streamer.

How energy consuming is 21 point rally scoring in singles vs. standard 11 point scoring?

Also any difference in strategy? Getting ready for my 3.5 singles tournament tomorrow.

Please critique my singles game

https://youtu.be/Jzu8JRDyQ-M?si=cIqUYKJcAVq6KE79 I’m the one facing the camera in the hat.

Training for a 3.5 singles tournament. I didn’t come from a tennis background. Feels like my split step is either slow or non-existent. Footwork can use improvement. I get passed by my friend ALOT and it’s annoying. I don’t recognize hitting patterns well. I don’t think I’m in the right position most of the time. Feels like my ground shots and serve can be deeper. Please help! Thanks.

Best robo-vacuum for cooked food?

We have kids and they leave a mess around the dining table. Do robovacuums handle cooked food such as rice, vegetables, eggs and other types of meat well? Or do you generally need to pick up the larger items first?

Examining Tama’s unique ground stroke

His groundstroke is pretty unique, I’m not sure anyone on tour hits it this way. Here are my observations:

  • continental grip maybe, slightly semi eastern
  • gets low then unwinds with full shoulder and hip rotations at impact (unlike Roscoe Bellamy or Ignatowich who likes to keep more closed)
  • ball contact about near left knee
  • gets wrist lag but wrist lag returns to neutral at impact
  • he has a regular looking drive until impact, then it’s more of a drip
  • at impact, paddle wraps around the outside of the ball, swipes up and he pushes the ball in the direction that he wants it to go

Feel free to correct my observations or add to it

With a closed paddle face at impact, how does the ball go over the net?

I get that closed face = top spin. I always see pros taking practice swings with an extremely closed face and always wondered how does the ball go over the net? Would the club face have to be a neutral 90 degrees otherwise it would pop down?

If you were to record at 1000 fps, at impact for a heavy stop spin drive, would the face be at neutral 90 degrees or would it be closed relative to the net? And if it’s closed how closed can the paddle face be?

This ‘808 Youngster is putting on a show! His ball control is elite and ridiculously fun to watch. The way he consistently catches the outside of the ball and shapes it from extreme angles to down the line is insane. Excited to see what Championship Sunday against Chris Hayworth brings!

I’ll start: Currently playing Elongated Honolulu J6CR with 3 grams at 3 and 9 + another 3 grams on top. Static weight around 8.8 to 9 oz.

I get why Funemizu uses that pancake-style ready position, with the paddle face pointing straight down—it keeps him primed for speedups and really favors his forehand…similar to Riley Newman.

Shimabukuro often extends his index finger straight up the handle instead of wrapping it around like most players. What are the benefits of that?

For context I just received my RPM friction pro v2 and it feels gritty AF. I have so many power paddles I’m not too worried about how this will hit. I have a singles tournament in 1 month, if I used the paddle now new paddle grit will be gone but the paddle will be more broken in.

Should I save the grit for tournament day or break in the paddle more?
