simple question I recently saw a video where someone claimed hyperspace physically shortens the distance because it acts like a compressed version of realspace. while people say hyperspace "shortens travel" some people seem to mean just travel time while others mean physical travel space. since you have to accelerate to light speed to enter hyperspace it always seemed to me that hyperspace simply allows you to travel faster or is is inherently faster unlike realspace. if it really shortens the distance how would that even work, hyperspace isnt a compressed version of realspace it seems to be the same as mass shadows are in hyperspace exactly where they are in realspace.
Edit: ok update it really seems here like it does allow you to go faster instead of shortening the distance excerpt from Star Wars Insider 228:
>"When such a ship accelerated to lightspeed, it broke the barrier between the two dimensions and jumped into hyperspace. Think of it in terms of our own world, where a car can shorten its cross-country journey by "jumping" onto a highway and reaching speeds that exceed those it can legally cover on a city street or a back road. Although, in that situation, there is no need to enter another dimension!"
edit 2: also found this article on the official star wars site
>"In order to reach these speeds, a ship requires a hyperdrive — a propulsion system that would pitch the ship to lightspeed in order to “jump” to hyperspace. (Although ships often travel at far faster velocities than lightspeed once in hyperspace, something otherwise impossible to do.)"
On Authority discourse never seems to go away so I decided to write down the main issues and misconceptions with the text in a colourful zine form so people can more easily remember them.
as a transandrogynous nb I honestly really hate how transfem/transmasc often just gets assigned to nb's who dont consider themselves so, even if someone is nonbinary and is transitioning to be more masculine/feminine, that doesn’t automatically make them transmasc/fem. its also weird to see how many seemingly just use it as a stand-in for agab. people really need to stop just calling nb's transfem and transmasc when they don't identify with those terms, for many of us this clashes with our gender and doesnt even describe our transition. people just seem to forget that a lot of us also consider ourselves transneutral or transandrogynous, and some don't like any terms like that.
This is the second in a now three volume series of interviews with anarchist organizations influenced by the Organizational Platform of Libertarian Communists, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
We commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Social Revolution that took place in July 1936 after the failed coup d'état that transformed human relationships and the way we understand the life of an entire generation. Access to education, healthcare, food, work, decent housing were some of the main pillars that transformed society and the economy for millions of people. We remember this date not to cling to an immovable idea, but to learn from that revolutionary process and bring it to the world today. Flag for a modern anarchist spain based on mixing the design of the Republican flag with the anarchist Aragon flag. Also added the anarchist star inside the gear and wheat stalk symbol representing agriculture- and industrial workers.
