I set up and saved my searches a while back, decided I wanted to go add some stuff to exclude on my boolean search today and I can't find the boolean search query editor. Am I looking in the wrong place or was boolean searches removed?

First, thank you guys for replying to my last post. I've done some talking to the daycare and I've found that the daycare seems to decide whether he stays or goes almost entirely by mucus color. Green means home, and they want clear only. Frustrated, I went to his doctor who examined him and cleared him to return, and told me color alone doesn't mean anything concerning and to go by how he's acting overall. I honestly can't remember a time my son, or even me, had fully clear mucus, so waiting for that could take weeks, and by then he catches the next thing.

Currently: he was actually sick for about 2 days after my last post, which is fair, then bounced back around 4 days ago. We decided to keep him home anyways because I know for a fact they were going to send him home. Since then he has just had a tiny lingering cough (maybe a cough or two every hour) and some mucus, with insane amounts of energy, a big appetite, and no fever.

Today was his first day back after a week, and they called me to pick him up again. He is not sick. They said I have to take him because they noticed a bit of green mucus and a "slight cough". Overall he has missed close to 40% of his days since enrolling.

Switching isn't an option for us. This is a low-income only daycare and it's the only reason we can afford care, so I'm trying to work this out with them, not around them. I've asked for the written illness policy to see what it actually says.

So, has anyone dealt with a center that goes by mucus color? Did a doctor's note ever change anything, and how did you bring it up without hurting the relationship?

From my research too it seems every other daycare only goes by fever and energy, so this is a little new for me to navigate..

My 2 year old toddler just started daycare two months ago, and he's already been out for almost a third of the time. He seems to catch something every other week, usually a cough or a runny nose. The frustrating part is that the daycare calls us the moment he gets a runny nose and tells us to keep him home until his symptoms improve.

That means one of us has to take the day(s) off work, and it's usually me, since my wife just started a new job and doesn't want to call out so early on.

I am not sure if I can afford to miss any more days, I can tell my coworkers are getting a bit frustrated with me calling out so much.

We also have no village. It's just the two of us, so it's not like we don't have any relatives to drop him with. Other daycares I've asked seem to want a consistent schedule/be a main daycare, so they aren't really an option for occasional days. Sitters either cost more than we'd earn in a day or can't come on short notice.

This has also caused some tension between me and my wife. I was planning into looking for an alternate backup daycare, but she feels a sitter is the more responsible option as she didn't want to get other kids sick. We legitimately can't afford one.

How do you all navigate this?

One guy scored just a point above me and got called in last month. found a guy on Reddit in the same local, same program (S&C) who scored a good bit less than me, interviewed the same month I did and he got the call as well a few weeks ago. Nothing on my end. Any emails send to ibew they just say they can't share ranking.

Is there some kind of other factor? I thought score was all that mattered

I'm ultra sensitive to sweeteners. I can taste that weird aftertaste in almost every diet/zero drink out there, so I usually avoid them.

A few days ago I finally tried the Minute Maid Zero line seeing as they are relatively new, specifically the ones in the refrigerated section, not the canned versions (those are not it). I was blown away by how good these are. No aftertaste, no weird chemical taste, nothing. I had my wife try one blind and she thought it was regular juice.

Like on a scale where 0 is tastes like a diet drink' and 10 is 'tastes exactly like the full sugar version,' these are a solid 10. I genuinely can't pick out a single difference.

I ended up buying every flavor and they're all solid, especially the mango and strawberry lemonade.

Now I'm curious how they pulled this off to taste this good. Anyone have an experience with these or know what the catch is to how these are so good? Has anyone checked their blood sugar response after drinking these? Just want to know if there's a catch before I make these a regular thing. I see fruit juice is listed on ingredients but the carbs per serving is only 1 and sugar is 0.

Hi, I haven't really had much filipino food. I keep seeing TikTok videos of people eating a Filipino grilled chicken dish (Chicken Inasal) with unlimited rice, drizzling this bright orange oil all over the rice.

It looks incredible and I really want to try it. The nearest filipino supermarket Seafood City is about an hour away from me in California. Before making the trip, I want to see if it is something I can actually find there and if it would be something I might like..

For anyone who has had it:

• What is the actual flavor profile of the this chicken oil?
• Is it savory and chicken-forward like concentrated bouillon, or mostly salty?
• Does it have strong garlic or seasoning notes, or does it mostly just taste like fat/oil with a hint of chicken?

I love salty, foods, but if it just tastes greasy without much depth, I am not sure it is worth the drive. Thanks

I (32/M) have been overweight my whole life. Over the past few years, having two kids really added to that, but I have been trying to make changes. In the last few months, I finally cut out soda and sweet drinks entirely. I felt like I was slowly starting to turn things around.

Yesterday, I went to the doctor to check a mole and ended up asking about starting a GLP-1 for weight loss. My doctor agreed and ordered a routine A1C test just to check prior starting GLP-1. My last test was in 2021 and it was normal; but in all fairness, I did weigh like 40 pounds less.

I got the result right now and it is 7.5%.

My biggest fear my entire life has been getting type 2 diabetes. Seeing that number today made me feel completely sick to my stomach. I do not even want to tell my wife or family right now because I am so ashamed and overwhelmed. I am sitting here wanting to do something drastic like a year long water fast and vitamin fast just to fix it immediately.

What do I actually need to know right now? Why was I not showing any symptoms at all?

Honestly, I do not even know what to even ask... What kind of changes am I actually facing besides just not eating like crap? Do I have to wear one of those continuous glucose monitors on my arm or prick my fingers every single day now? That is not the life I wanted for myself. How do you process this, and where do I even start?

I'm still trying to process so this post might not even make sense.. just a vent I guess.

This for S&C Local 332. I am just trying to gauge what are the chances I will be called or if he was practically the last pick and they're done. We interviewed about 4-5 months ago at the same time.

Has anyone tried using a California's Great America Gold Pass to get into Gilroy Gardens? My brother has one and says they don't check ID/photos there, so it should work. I'm a bit skeptical though planning to bring my 1-year-old just for the water play area, and $65/person feels steep for that alone. Anyone know if they check?

It was a very small store, looked quite old. Parking was extremely limited but it was practically just a liquor store that sold cakes and sandwiches I believe. I remember I stopped by here and really enjoyed the cakes but I can't remember if it was in Santa Cruz or Monterey or in between. Anyone knows what I'm talking about? They had like some trending chocolate cake.

I've been trying to get rid of a fridge and sofas through 311 free junk pickup for over a month now. I’m used to them being a hassle from when I used them before; it usually takes two tries to get anything taken, but this time is driving me crazy because I have extra heavy items out there and hauling them back inside every time is a total PITA.

Round 1 failed because it was on the curb (neighbors constantly parks in front of my house, leaving zero room). Only other place to put it would be blocking either me or my neighbor's driveway. I called them beforehand and inquired about this and they said it's fine, try my best and they'll pick it up. Welp that didn't happen.

Round 2 failed after I luckily got an open spot on the street. They never picked it up, and when I called, they claimed a car was parked too close. There wasn't a car anywhere near it when I put it out, nor when I saw it last before I went to work at 7am so unless someone temporarily parked there during the exact window the truck drove by, they just made it up.

I am tired of lugging heavy furniture back and forth into my yard. Would reporting this as illegal dumping actually get a faster response, or will that just backfire?

A lot of Old Spice scents smell good, but honestly most of them to me kind of smells like that same generic "body wash" note to me. Lawn Ranger is different, it actually nails that fresh cut grass scent, and I think it's genuinely unique compared to the rest of the lineup.

Problem is it doesn't seem very popular, and it's already getting hard to find. A Google search even lead to me this subreddit with someone unfavorable reviews on this scent..

It seems Old Spice loves renaming scents, so is there a chance Lawn Ranger got rebranded under a different name? Trying to figure out if I should stock up before it disappears for good.

I absolutely love this scent. It smells just like a Christmas Tree and it makes me feel all cozy and piney.

I’ve been on a massive hunt for a cologne or fragrance that matches it. I've spent a good chunk of cash buying a bunch of different colognes; including a few from Pineward, which everyone says is the gold standard for pine, but honestly, none of them hit like Squatch's pine scent.

Do you guys have any suggestions for a fragrance that matches Squatch's pine? I love pine everything, so hit me with your best recommendations.

tldr; i want to smell like those christmas tree scent sticks you hang on the tree, so far only one I can find is Squatch Pine Tar..

Schedule: 4/6.5 wakes 6:30-7am, nap 11am-1:30pm, bedtime attempt 8:30pm (actually asleep closer to 9pm)

Bedtime routine: Bottle of water (transitioning off milk), put him down, leave the room immediately as he won't sleep if we're in there.

Was fully sleep trained - completely hands off, no issues.

DWT: 6:30-7am, pretty consistent

My kiddo was an amazing independent sleeper until about a month ago. We traveled to my in-laws and had to cosleep a few nights because he refused their pack and play. Ever since we got back it's been a disaster .. he stands and screams and won't settle on his own.

My wife now cosleeps with him which works, but that's become the new expectation. Problem is we have alternating work schedules and I'm not comfortable cosleeping, so on my nights I wait until he's out and sneak away... I don't like this as it takes forever and hes now effectively taken one of us out completely for chores at 8.

Nap is still mostly fine, he fusses but gives in. Bedtime is the main battle.

We want to get back to independent sleep. My wife thinks he's too old for CIO/Ferber, and Ferber seems to backfire every check-in makes him escalate worse. Is there something that works better for toddlers this age? Can he be re-trained at 21 months?

After owning my 23 Model Y LR for about three years, I am seriously struggling to see how the supposed benefits of the longer range NMC battery hold up over time. Am I looking at this wrong?? or are LFP packs just straight up superior in almost every way for daily ownership? Here is my perspective based on how the numbers:

When I bought my LR, the big selling point was the 330 mile range. But after 3 years, my NMC pack has degraded to 87%, dropping my 100% charge down to roughly 287 miles. Meanwhile, a 2023 SR started at 279 miles. Because LFP batteries have a vastly superior cycle life, they degrade at a fraction of the rate, typically losing only 3% to 4% over three years (From what searches tell me). At 96% health, that SR still retains about 268 miles. The gap between the SR and LR at full charge has shrunk to a measly 19 miles.

The daily routine makes the SR even more appealing. To protect my NMC battery, I cap my daily charge at 80%, giving me just 230 miles of usable range. LFP owners don't deal with this micromanagement. Tesla recommends charging them to 100% regularly, so a SR owner leaves the garage with 268 miles every single morning, beating out a LR daily range.

I figured the LR would at least crush the SR on road trips, but after three years, even that advantage has evaporated. If my 100% charge is 287 miles and an aged LFP sits around 268 miles, the difference is negligible.

When you factor in battery chemistry and sheer longevity, it really seems like the Standard Range is the superior option for long term ownership. Unless you live in an extreme sub-zero climate where LFP struggles, the long game clearly belongs to the SR
