Dying a yarn cake

I watched a few of chemknits videos on dying cakes and I want to dye a gradient yarn deep red to black. Normally I use my knitting machine to make a blank and dye one side one color and the other side the other color. It works great but I want to use a single ply wool and worry that it will be over handeling it, plus its a ton of extra work. I had the idea to wind a loose cake and inject the red in the middle and then roll the outside in black and then steam it. Could/would this work? Has anyone tried anything similar? Should I just bust out my centro?

Not getting work

So ive been waiting to start my apprenticeship and the coordinator is new and not the one that I onboarded with. They had me come on to do paperwork because work is right around the corner. Now all of a sudden crickets. Could it be because im 38 and 100# overweight. I get it if thats the case hell I dont even blame em. Just curious if thats the likelihood.

Paradise fiber

So i just moved to the Spokane area and started my lys exploring at paradise. Omg it was an amazing store probably one of the best yarn stores ive ever seen. I was hesitant because of the past drama about the owners and walk outs and ..... but I gotta say the staff seemed really nice. I didnt have any real technical questions so I cant speak to their knowledgeabilty but they were all really nice and friendly. I will definitely check out more stores locally but wow what a wonderful place.

Fan casting influence

Given how much matt listens, interacts and supports his fans i wonder if he will take all our fan casting into consideration? At least influence his wish list of actors i hope.

What do you all do in-between dispatches and while waiting for work? It would be awesome to find a job i could work at and leave and come back between assignments and during slow downs

[Landlord us-ca] to supply appliances or to not supply appliances that is the question

Do you supply kitchen appliances? Im setting up my dad's house to rent out and was wondering if its should supply appliances or not? I know if I supply them i have to maintain them but im assuming i wouldn't be able to charge as much for rent. Just weighing my pros and cons i suppose. 4 bed 2 bath house In orange county ca.
