Content about rnn and neural networks goes back to 2016-2017, the first widespread example of AI image generation was DALL-E mini [or craiyon] which would produce 4 absolutely indecipherable images of the inserted prompt, but it was groundbreaking and everyone loved it, around the time of generative AI meant to complete text, just like playground and its models. Everyone was genuinely enamored of AI despite its low quality. This image is from 2023-ish from Microsoft copilot, basically asked it to generate an image of Mario graduating. It looks decent but not amazing,It also reminds of times where midjourney’s discord was packed with people just so they could make images that were 30% better than DALL-E mini.

I don’t know when people started hating AI, I think that one coke ad was a major turning point. Which honestly makes me want to ask: when did people go from loving ai to hating it?
