Only thing left is to get this phone ordered. Can't wait to see how it feels on the phone.

Moving all of your troubleshooting inquiries to r/SamsungSupport

Hi! I'm this subreddit's mod.

Over time, I've been making strides to make this one of Reddit's best subreddits. My approach to moderating subreddits has been to take action when it's needed, but not to intervene too heavily into the experience where it feels too restricted and not fun to be a part of anymore.

But I did want to clean up and organize the subreddit a bit more. So from now on, I will not be allowing troubleshooting inquiries in this subreddit, and ask that you move them to r/SamsungSupport, or any other subreddit that allows you to, of course. Recommendation questions and that sort of thing are still allowed here, but for screen issues, "why does my Galaxy Tab get hot?", and other general troubleshooting inquiries, please visit r/SamsungSupport.

The Samsung Support subreddit is another subreddit I'm a mod of. Someone else created it and made me a mod, but he hasn't posted in 5 years and the quality of it went downhill due to him not maintaining the Automod. So I put Automod on the backburner for now until its issues can be solved, and everyone can freely post their issues without having to deal with Automod locking a post or any of the issues that subreddit's members had to deal with frequently.

Hopefully this creates a more pleasant experience here, and I'm always open to input! So feel free to drop any below!

Significant changes has been made to r/SamsungSupport regarding posting

The original mod here (u/mostafa_19nm) set up Automod which configured how you posted your questions. There will still be guidelines set up, but the posting requirements will no longer be nearly as strict as they once were.

And honestly, I'm not sure how exactly he set up his Automod. The last time he posted or commented anything was 5 years ago, so I don't think he has access to his Reddit account anymore.

Going forward, you will not have to adhere to the post guidelines, regardless of what rule #1 says. All other rules still apply though. For now, please clearly give a general statement of your issue, followed by a more detailed description of your problem, and what you've tried.

Let me know if you still have any issues! Automod still is in effect, but I severely restricted what it can do. I don't think the original mod here had any bad intentions of course, he just wanted to keep this subreddit as organized as possible I'd imagine, but he hasn't been here to configure his Automod.

37% volume limit seems to be randomly fixed on my Galaxy Book4 Edge

So I checked my update list, and I've received nothing that seems to be an update fix pushed from Samsung. Just random Microsoft Defender updates, but I just plugged in my Koss headphones into my Galaxy Book's 3.5mm headphone jack, and it let me immediately increase my volume all the way to 100%!

I'm not sure exactly what happened, but if you are dealing with this issue, I recommend checking Windows Update and see if anything changes.

List of devices projected to receive One UI 9 (including Galaxy Tabs)

A post I found by @OneUIBeta posted last month on Twitter. They didn't share any dates, but this is what we know is going to get it. Would be great if they put DeX back the way it was. I'm just saying, Samsung... 🤷‍♂️

Galaxy Book Edge users dealing with the 3.5mm headphone jack's 37% volume bug (megathread)

It seems like a lot of us are dealing with an issue that use Windows on ARM where if we plug in headphones, the volume gets stuck at 37% with no clear solution. I edit videos, so this has been a massive headache for me personally. USB-C headphones do currently seem to be the workaround.

It seems that this is a limiter that kicks in that's supposed to show a dialog to warn users about listening at high volumes past 37%, but the dialog never shows up or isn't programmed into the system. I believe their Intel laptops do this. If I'm wrong, sound off in the comments.

This is coming from a Galaxy Book4 Edge user. If you have a Galaxy Book6 Edge and deal with this as well, please sound off in the comments! Hopefully this megathread can help bring this to Samsung's attention to address the issue.

Difference in the ultra-wide camera on the Z Fold7 vs the Fold8 Ultra in New Hampshire after I came back from NYC for Galaxy Unpacked

Fold7 on the left, Fold8 Ultra on the right. I was genuinely impressed by the difference, and I can be hard to impress!

u/yayoshorti — 3 months ago

After using the Fold8 Ultra for a week, it clearly doesn't seem much different from the Fold7, but day to day experience is noticeable

Is it an entire $2,100 upgrade more expensive from last gen? Not at all (at least from the Z Fold7). But the silicon carbon battery, brighter screen, smoother experience, 50MP ultra-wide camera, and various other small improvements do add up. From the Fold6 or older though? Definitely. You'll enjoy it a lot.

But I repeat... do not, and I mean DO NOT upgrade from your Fold7 unless you get a trade-in deal you can't beat, or if you feel you just have to have the Fold8 Ultra.

Samsung did provide this to me for free due to the fact that I am a content creator, but obviously that doesn't alter my opinion on this at all. I wouldn't put my own money towards this if I had a Fold7... at least so far. I could always eat my own words later down the line.

Does anyone else find that the T-Mobile Tuesdays Speedway drinks almost never work?

I haven't tried 7-Eleven yet but every time I scan in the app they always tell me they don't see it at multiple locations across SE Wisconsin.

Can someone please tell me what the point of the DOT putting HOV lanes on just highway ramps is?

This image is in Washington from Wikipedia but still... through the years of me being here they seem mostly pointless seeing they're so short.

Galaxy Tab One UI 8.5 update is rolling out: the megathread

Samsung has begun rolling out One UI 8.5 to its Galaxy Tabs after only previously being on phones. If you received the update, please drop the model and country (carrier if applicable) in the comments. You may also ask others here if their particular device received it.
