As you hurry inside the building, you look at the thermometer. It reads -58 degrees Fahrenheit on the exterior temperature, but the inside of this building is fairly warm.

The figure dusts himself off of the snow and breathes for a second.

Now, I have no idea who you are or why you're in my city without a coat, but let me introduce myself. People around here call me "The Captain". I lead the people here in this city, New Salem.

He reaches out his hand.

An economic depression in the US. How do we feel about the likelihood of it happening? Do you think it will happen?

I am of the opinion that this economy will suffer something similar to 2008 soon and it might happen either shortly after the midterms or after this AI bubble bursts.

And yes, it will be mostly Trump's fault for worsening market conditions throughout his 2nd term in office.

As an autistic person, I feel as if I live in a world that despises my existence. How on earth do you live with such a reality?

Heavy, heavy trigger warning. Mentions of abuse r*pe, etc.

Let's see here...

I lived for 21 years and the only thing remains consistent in this world. People hate autistic people because they view us as burdens to society or imperfections on life.

I was abused physically, verbally, financially, emotionally, sexually, I was bullied all my life, I was raped. Only thing I was useful for according to others was my body and my money. That's it.

I was and am a sack of meat to others. And for me, there is genuinely zero hope left but God. I tire of this world, it's people and all the sins they do against others and themselves. I am tired of being seen as a burden, or seen as just the disabled kid, or being seen as nothing more than a diversity hire. Just for once I'd like to be seen as a human being and not any of these other things.

When I was younger, my parents would tell me that if they knew I was going to have autism they would've gotten an abortion to kill me. When I was an adult they tried to use my autism to get perks from my disability, abusing my autonomy and free will to get pity points or benefits that I wasn't allowed to have. When I was an adult they tried to rig my disability benefits so they could get extra money.

Now that I've escaped, I keep bouncing to one abusive situation to another. I'm trying to survive in a world that despises my existence over something I can't control and I am punished for it. I have to justify my own existence or I am cast out entirely.

I am so tired. I just want to rest.

What even is the argument of "You're not entitled to the product of someone else's labor"?

Even when I was a libertarian I had a hard time understanding this argument fully. I see it all the time when people say they want universal healthcare and it just... Doesn't make sense?

Why would universal healthcare be slavery, and why would it be me believing I'm entitled to a product or service provided by others?

I know people would say that the healthcare employee is being paid and they voluntarily apply for the position and thus it wouldn't be slavery, but I feel like this a weak rebuttal and I want to use stronger arguments and I want to look at the actual philosophy behind this.

My understanding of this argument is this:

  1. A human life is an individual, organism phenomenon. Life does not exist in a group or “society” as there is no such animal. Those concepts are "secondary" concepts referring to numbers of individuals, NOT some different kind of animal.

  2. “Life” requires action on the part of the individual to sustain itself or it dies. Each Organism must produce physical items/situations as required by its nature and its environment which it must generate itself. Fruits of labor, basically.. What an individual will do with these ‘fruits’ is their decision, but they cannot avoid their needing to act and produce them in order to stay alive.

  3. Because each individual’s “Life” requires its self-generated and directed action to produce the things needed for its survival, as a biological necessity, any claim by other individuals on those same ‘fruits’ is secondary, EG subject to negotiation with the individual who produced them.

  4. Once any Group (or society) claims or exerts ownership on an individual’s earned ‘fruits’, they own that individual’s life. That is the essence of Slavery.

... Except, there are a few problems I have with this.

For one, a human lIfe that is uniquely theirs can voluntarily choose to participate in a society, and voluntarily decide to pay a portion of earned income to pay for services and the institutions required for the government to do it's primary purpose (which I have always defined as ensuring coexistence with other people within a defined area), and they would, logically speaking, agree that their labor isn't entirely theirs either if they voluntarily choose to serve that institution, and yet they can still enjoy that service because the government does not exclude these services to their hired employees.

Let us say for a moment that this theory of this supposedly being slavery is valid. Does this not mean you are entitled to a fair trial, citizenship, law enforcement, or the rights that you enjoy that is recognized by a central governing authority who represents you and your voice and works to make your life better, even if it does this job imperfectly?

And even then, what people who use this argument call this the "essence of slavery", I will rebuke this by saying the essence of something does not mean it is so. The essence of being healthy does not make me so.

Arctis Nova 7 randomly experiences severe packet loss with the wireless 2.4GHz dongle. Not sure how to fix it.

I love the Nova 7. It's comfortable, affordable, all that. But recently I've been experiencing issues where I would recieve severe packet loss at random intervals.

I have no idea what generally causes packet loss. I'm not running anything major, just my game and a background browser.

If it helps, I have the dongle inserted into the back of my motherboard via one of the usb-c ports. I have theorized it may be PCIE lane usage that may be causing the issues but mine's been pretty consistent and none of my back ports are disabled to my knowledge.

This dude literally tells you that eating people is like some refined fancy pallete crap and then asks you to kidnap some street trash in the same sentence.

Is he stupid?
