BYD Leopard 7 Max – 3 Months / ~7,000 KM Ownership Review

So this is my third post about the Leopard 7 Max.
I previously posted about my buying experience and then again after around 1,500 km. Now I’ve had the car for roughly 3 months and almost 7,000 km, so thought I’d share another update.
I bought the Leopard 7 Max for around AED 141–142K.
Overall: still very happy with the car. 😄
🚗 Driving experience
Honestly, this is probably my favourite thing about the car.
I’ve driven around 7,000 km now and the driving experience is just great. It’s smooth, quick, comfortable and has a lot of features. The road presence is also pretty good.
The car has a ridiculous number of features, and most of them actually work well.
Blind-spot monitoring? 👍
Auto parking? 👍
Massage seats? 👍
Ventilated/cooling seats? 👍
The ADAS/ACC with lane assistance is also there, but personally I don’t rely on it much. I rarely use it. Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer to drive myself.
⚡ Charging / Fuel
Over the 7,000 km, I think I’ve filled the petrol tank around 5 times, although I’m not 100% sure.
I also have access to a charger at my office, which makes a huge difference.
My daily driving is around 80–90 km. If I leave the car charging at the office for around 5–6 hours, I’m generally good for the day.
My monthly charging cost is around AED 280–300, which honestly isn’t bad at all for my usage.
🔧 EVS service
For people who bought the Chinese Leopard 7 from Ras Al Khor, you get the EVS service contract.
I did my first service at 5,000 km.
The process was pretty straightforward. I just walked in. There were two cars ahead of me, so I waited around 40 minutes, had a coffee and then they took the car.
They did the first service/checks and told me everything was fine.
I’m not exactly sure what all they changed/checked (I believe they changed the oil), but the important thing is:
First service = no extra charge. 👍
💀 The biggest problem with this car…
It’s TOO smooth and too quick. 😂
Seriously.
If you’re driving at 110 km/h and give it some accelerator, it can very quickly go to 125 km/h.
The acceleration is so smooth that you don’t always feel how quickly you’re gaining speed.
Result?
I got two speeding fines. 🤦‍♂️😂
One of my friends with a similar car has had the same experience.
You start enjoying the drive and suddenly you’re like…
“Wait… why am I doing 125?” 😂
I’m much more careful now.
📱 Master account / SIM
The master account issue was eventually sorted out within about a month.
But honestly, even after getting the master account, I haven’t explored much of it.
For some of the remote features, like remotely moving the car or starting the AC, you need to set up a SIM.
And the SIM process is… let’s just say not exactly plug-and-play.
There is some soldering involved and other things that I personally didn’t want to bother with.
So for now, I’m just using it like a normal car.
🍎 Apple CarPlay / Apps
There are ways to get Apple CarPlay working using external devices/apps.
Personally, I don’t use CarPlay at all.
I just connect my phone’s hotspot to the car and use the apps directly on the main screen.
I’ve got Google Maps, Waze and other navigation apps installed, so I’m perfectly happy with that.
I’ve also seen people installing Netflix, YouTube, etc. and basically turning the screen into an entertainment system.
Personally, I mainly use it for navigation.
👥 Owner community
The owner community is actually pretty good.
There are WhatsApp groups, Telegram groups and Reddit communities.
The only issue is that a lot of the owners are Arabic-speaking, so naturally a lot of the conversations are in Arabic.
But whenever I’ve needed help, people have been very supportive. If they know you don’t speak Arabic, they’ll usually help explain things in English.
There is also a dedicated website made by one of the owners where you can download different applications for the car, and quite a few of them are free.
There are also some paid apps that apparently add extra functionality, but I haven’t personally used them, so can’t really comment on those.
🏜️ Off-roading
This is one thing I haven’t done yet.
I’ve seen quite a few videos of Leopard 7 owners taking their cars into the desert, but I haven’t taken mine yet.
Now that the weather is getting better, I might give it a try.
So if anyone here has taken their Leopard 7 into the desert, please share your experience.
Overall
After 3 months and ~7,000 km, I’m still enjoying the car.
I haven’t faced any major issues so far.
For around AED 141–142K, I honestly think it’s a very good value-for-money package.
It’s comfortable, powerful, feature-packed, has good road presence and is genuinely fun to drive.
Of course, this is just my experience. Your experience may be completely different.
I’m just sharing this because when I was buying the car, I wanted to see what actual owners were experiencing after a few months — not just what the salesperson tells you. 😅
If you have any questions about the car, feel free to ask. I’ll try to answer based on my experience.
And if you haven’t seen my previous two posts, check those out as well — they cover my initial buying experience and the first ~1,500 km.
So far: still happy with the Leopard. 👍

Note : I can’t type this much so obviously I took help from my PA- ChatGpt 😂

IVF and vericocele in left testicles

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are going through IVF and I’m trying to understand whether there could be a male-factor issue that isn’t showing up on a standard semen analysis.
I’m the male partner, and I recently noticed that I can feel what seems like a varicocele on the left side of my scrotum.
Our fertility journey has been a bit confusing, and I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have had a similar situation, particularly anyone who had a varicocele, normal semen analysis, IVF/ICSI, or sperm DNA fragmentation testing.
My semen analyses
I’ve had three semen analyses:
December 2024
Volume: 2.0 mL
Concentration: 120 million/mL
Total sperm: 240 million
Motility: ~65%
Morphology: reported as 94% normal
July 2025
Volume: 2.0 mL
Concentration: 95 million/mL
Total sperm: 190 million
Motility: ~55%
Morphology: reported as 90% normal
January 2026
Volume: 3.0 mL
Concentration: 58 million/mL
Total sperm: 174 million
Total motility: 60%
Progressive motility: 52%
Normal morphology: 15%
Agglutination: nil
So although my sperm concentration has decreased over time (120 → 95 → 58 million/mL), it is still within a good range, and the total count and motility are also good.
The morphology numbers look very different between the reports, but I understand that different laboratories/morphology criteria can make these difficult to compare directly.
Our IVF/ICSI cycle
We recently went through IVF with ICSI.
10 eggs retrieved
9 were considered good/mature
We ended up with 5 blastocysts, including 5AA and 5AB embryos
PGT-A was performed
3 embryos were not suitable
1 was classified as high mosaic
1 was a good 5AA embryo
The 5AA embryo was transferred
Unfortunately, the pregnancy didn’t progress.
At 14 days after transfer, hCG was 12.
The doctor initially described this as a clinical pregnancy, but my understanding now is that because the hCG was only 12 and my wife subsequently got her period, this was essentially a very early/biochemical pregnancy rather than an ultrasound-confirmed clinical pregnancy.
My question about the varicocele
Since I seem to have a left varicocele, I’m wondering whether it could be affecting sperm quality despite my relatively good semen analysis.
I’ve read that varicoceles can potentially increase oxidative stress and sperm DNA damage.
I’m therefore wondering about sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF/DFI) testing.
Could someone with experience tell me:
Can you have good sperm count, motility and morphology but still have high sperm DNA fragmentation?
Has anyone here had a varicocele with a normal semen analysis but elevated SDF?
Did treating the varicocele improve your SDF or IVF outcomes?
Would you recommend doing an SDF test after one failed IVF/ICSI transfer?
Is there any reason to test for SDF before considering varicocele treatment?
Could sperm DNA fragmentation realistically contribute to a biochemical pregnancy/very early loss, or am I overthinking this?
I’m particularly interested in experiences from men who had normal conventional semen parameters but later discovered high DNA fragmentation.
I’m not looking for a diagnosis from Reddit — just trying to understand whether this is something worth investigating with a male fertility urologist/andrologist.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience.

25 Days & 1,500 km with the Leopard 7 Max – My Honest Ownership Update

A few weeks ago I made my first post about my initial impressions after getting the Leopard 7 Max. This is my second update after driving it for almost 25 days and around 1,500 km.
Overall, I’m really happy with the car.
👍 What I Like
1. Driving experience
The car feels very solid and well-built. It has excellent road presence, great visibility, and is genuinely enjoyable to drive. Every time I get behind the wheel, it puts a smile on my face.
2. Features
The Max trim comes loaded with features like:
Seat massage
Seat cooling/ventilation
Blind spot monitoring
And many more
To be fair, most newer Chinese cars offer similar features these days, so nothing feels revolutionary. But the important part is that everything works reliably, and that’s what matters.
3. Fuel efficiency
For a vehicle of this size, I’m impressed with the overall fuel economy.
I mostly drive in Auto mode, so the car decides when to use the engine or the battery.
I have a DEWA charger at my office, so I charge there occasionally. The Max has a 26 kWh battery, and a full charge costs me roughly AED 16–17. My daily commute is around 80–90 km, so that’s quite economical.
I’m tracking my fuel and electricity usage. If anyone is interested in the actual numbers and statistics, let me know in the comments and I’ll share them in a separate post.

👎 Things That Could Be Better
1. Wind noise at highway speeds
Around 120–125 km/h, I can hear some wind noise inside the cabin.
It’s not unbearable, and if you’re playing music you probably won’t notice it much. I’ve heard different opinions—some people say it’s the door seals, others think it’s the tyres—but I honestly don’t know the cause. For now, it’s manageable.
2. Still waiting for my Master Account
It’s been almost a month and I still haven’t received my Master Account.
From what I understand, once it’s activated I’ll be able to use features like:
ADAS
Auto Park
Mobile app connectivity
Remote charging status
Possibly Apple CarPlay and other connected services
So I can’t really comment on those features yet. Once I get access, I’ll make another update.
3. Apple CarPlay
At the moment, native Apple CarPlay isn’t available on my car.
From what I’ve learned, there are currently two workarounds:
Buy a CarPlay dongle (around AED 200).
Use a phone mirroring app (annual subscription around AED 90 d either yet because I’m waiting for my Master Account first. Once I test everything, I’ll share another update.

Final Thoughts
After 25 days, I’m genuinely enjoying the Leopard 7 Max. Every car has a few compromises, but so far the positives easily outweigh the negatives for me.
If you’re considering buying one, feel free to ask any questions. I’ll answer based on my real ownership experience.
Also, if you haven’t seen it, check out my previous post where I shared my first impressions right after taking delivery.

Leopard 7 max

Why I Chose the BYD Leopard 7 Max Over the Al-Futtaim Ti7
I was recently shopping for a new SUV with a budget of around AED 150k–160k. My priorities were simple: it had to be a new, spacious SUV with the best value for money.
After comparing several options, I narrowed it down to the BYD Leopard 7 and the Al-Futtaim/Ti7. After spending a lot of time comparing specs and pricing, I felt the Leopard 7 offered significantly more for the money.
I ended up buying the BYD Leopard 7 Max for around AED 140k. That included a 50,000 km service contract, a 5-year vehicle warranty, and a battery warranty (I think it’s 8 years, but I’d need to double-check). Insurance was around AED 5,400.
For comparison, the Al-Futtaim Ti7 base model was around AED 156k, and I still had to add roughly AED 4k for the service contract, plus insurance. The higher trim was around AED 168k, again before adding the extra costs.
What really surprised me was how many features were missing from the base Ti7. It doesn’t come with a head-up display, built-in fridge, or massage seats—those are only available on the higher trim.
Meanwhile, my Leopard 7 Max, despite being the lower trim, already includes all of those features.
The main differences between the Max and Ultra are:
LiDAR
Air ionizer/perfume diffuser
Larger battery (26 kWh vs. around 36 kWh)
The Ultra costs around AED 159k–160k, while the Max is around AED 140k. Personally, I didn’t think those upgrades were worth spending an extra AED 16k–18k, so I went with the Max and saved the money.
I’ve been driving the Leopard 7 Max for about a week now, and so far I’m genuinely impressed. The ride quality, features, and overall value have exceeded my expectations.
If anyone is considering either of these SUVs or has any questions about the Leopard 7 Max, feel free to ask. I’ll be happy to share my real-world experience.
