Anyone here into stoicism, philosophy? I also dig psychology and medical knowledge, stars and science stuff too
Aap dm me aaye. Let's talk.
If you are 30 plus and burnt out... READ THIS!
It’s always a matter of mindset... The day I understood that, everything started changing.
Without changing my environment, my money, or my situation... I started feeling more motivated and happier.
And strangely, when my mindset improved, things around me slowly started getting better too.
Then I kept making small changes... and those small changes kept stacking. That’s when I realized: If you want light in a room, bring the light. Don’t just sit there asking why the room is dark.
There will always be people who try to blow out your lamp and laugh when the flame shakes. What they don’t understand is... if your flame goes out, they stay in the dark too.
Now let’s talk about movement. Humans evolved to conserve energy.
Thousands of years ago, food was scarce. If you wanted to eat, you had to move, hunt, walk, climb, carry, survive.
Movement was part of life. Today, food comes to your door.
Most people barely move except to grab food from the fridge or sit at another screen.
And what happens when the body stops moving?
The mind starts running. Overthinking. Negative thoughts. Stress. Depression.
Science actually supports this too.
Regular movement and exercise help release dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins, chemicals linked to better mood and lower stress.
So what’s the solution? MOVE.
Be childlike again. Take a walk for no reason. Tap your feet. Snap your fingers.
Bob your head to music. Stretch randomly.
Use a standing desk if you can. Help someone carry groceries.
Lift heavy things around the house.
Leave no chance to move your body. At first it feels pointless. Annoying.
Painful even. But let it stack. Little by little your body changes.
Then your mind changes with it.
And no, this doesn’t mean you’ll never feel sad again. You still will. Life is life.
But every time you move instead of sinking deeper into your thoughts...
it gets a little easier. Every single time.
I already know this probably won’t get much traction.
Most people prefer relatable pain over uncomfortable solutions.
People love sitting together in darkness and calling it understanding.
But this is me trying to bring some light into the room.
It's always a matter of mindset...
It's always a matter of mindset... when I learnt that without making any changes in my environment I felt better motivated and happy.... and surprisingly things around me started getting better and I keep on making small changes that keeps making things even more better... If you want the light in the room bring the light... instead of questioning why isn't it bright inside the room... there will still be people who will try to blow on your lamp and laugh at how the flame danced... without understanding that if the flame goes out they are in the dark too...
Also movement... it's very funny indeed and a broad discussion but I will try to keep it short... humans are genetically predisposed to be lazy conserve energy cause food was scarce and every time you were hungry you had no other choice but to move and get food... now cut to the modern world you don't have much reason to move, food comes to you and the most you have to move is get up and go to the fridge... what does that lead to? overthinking and what does that lead to? thinking about all the negatives around you and done to you and what does that lead to? depression!
What's the solution? MOVE! Be child like, take a walk for no reason. Tap your feet, snap your fingers, bob your head, get a standing desk if you have that privilege it does wonders, help people with weight, files, leave no opportunity lift something heavy at house and work. It will feel redundant and painful first few weeks but let it stack and take it to the next level. Don't get me wrong you will still feel sad and depressed at times but all you gotta do is move and each time you do it. It will get easier.
Now I know this will not get traction cause most people wanna wallow in sorrow and pile on the relatable pain other people express but hey this is me bringing the light in this room.
Got a whiff of a nice sweet fresh fragrance and kept asking around what's smelling so good around the house?
It was me and my layer of Lataffa Liam with Arabiyat Oud al Layl
