Shapes resized themselves and can't be slim?

Anyone having this issue where the shapes kinda just expanded and can't revert back? Even in my Elements they're like this.

Earplugs falling out when sleeping?

I just received my Loop Switch 2 yesterday and tried sleeping with them. As a back sleeper, I don't have too many issues with the pressure.

But I woke up and I was lying on them. How do I avoid this happening (I don't want to lose them)?

Edit: Yes, I know they aren't supposed to be used for sleep - I don't have the money to buy multiple pairs that I'll barely use.

Loop Engage Plus or Loop Quiet 2? Or both? Can't decide

I've been thinking I could use some earplugs for daily and occasional sleep use. Thoughts?

Important note: I have ADHD.

I'm going back to school very soon and I often struggle with the crowded common rooms. I'm used to using my AirPods Pro 2 with noise cancellation to not get overstimulated in said common rooms whilst also being able to hold a conversation with my friends. At times, I do sleep with the AirPods too (not a big issue, as I'm a back sleeper) with added white noise, but they can die and I can also lose them. I'm trying to make better financial choices and refraining from impulse buying, so as much as I could definitely buy all the options I have in mind, I'd rather narrow it down to one product that I can use.

I've been pretty indecisive, trying to use my AirPods as my frame of reference for the feel, and was considering the Loop Switch, but I keep finding reviews that say they're chunky and unideal for smaller ears (which I have).

I keep ending up back at the Loop Engage Plus due to its versatility, but I'm also eyeing the Loop Quiet. I wonder if I should just go with the Loop Engage Plus or bundle in the Loop Quiet as well.

Protecting iPad with nanotexture?

I have an iPad Pro M4 with the nanotexture glass texture glass, it's from 2024. I've been very thorough with keeping the ipad as protected, clean, and etc as possible. I stopped using the apple magic keyboard after I found seemingly permanent marks on the screen from it. Random seemingly permanent smudges have started appearing on the screen along with minor scratches, assuming it's dust, though I clean the screen repeatedly daily.

I do wonder if it's truly impossible to sport a screen protector, even if just a magnetic one. Or if anyone has some tips for preserving the screen? I have AppleCare+, but I'd rather keep only have to make use of it for when the battery capacity falls below 80%.

Considering switching back to Noteful?

At the beginning of 2026, I switched from Noteful to Goodnotes and found that I enjoyed Goodnotes far more than Noteful. I was able to ignore or work around many of the performance issues that people usually nitpick, because what mattered to me was visual responsiveness. Back when I was using Noteful, I found that the app loaded heavier files pretty slowly and the tape feature had some bugs that I found tedious. I rarely found any latency when navigating documents on Goodnotes and I never had it mess up my files, crash unpredictably, or etc. I can live with the issues that come with GN, but I worry for my iPad's long-term battery health, and there's only so much I can do to mitigate battery drain or charge cycles. I recently bought the Classic plan for Notability and was planning to migrate until I realised that it also loaded files pretty slowly when zooming out/in, clicking hyperlinks, etc, and decided to dedicate Notability solely to studying/school.

I know that Noteful has had some updates since the start of this year and I genuinely wonder if it's worth switching back long-term. I used GN for text documents, my planner, and my journals. I noticed that Noteful doesn't seem to have as many issues right now, but I'm sceptical of whether the app can run reliably on low battery mode, on more dense PDFs, etc.

Thoughts?

Widgets blank on Clear/Tinted customisation

I've exclusively been using the Clear option on my iPad for the past year, not too fond of using the Default/Dark options because of the various colours. The Widgets work just fine without Safe Mode when on Default or Dark, but become blank when set on Clear or Tinted with or without Safe Mode.

I would like to see this somehow fixed or I'd be happy with Shortcut options that allow me to open specific notes.

Ideas for Notability uses?

I bought the Classic plan for Notability a few days ago, regretting it shortly after, as I found Goodnotes more suitable all-around for 'stuff I'd use my iPad for'. But having accepted my fate, I see no reason as to why I shouldn't try and make do with both somehow.

Classes don't start until later in August, so I probably won't be actively taking notes unless I randomly decide to study/revise.

So, I was wondering what else I could use Notability for that Goodnotes technically would do better—that is, I'll be keeping my digital planning on Goodnotes. Given battery drain issues (pretty much the only problem I have with Goodnotes), I considered transferring my journals to Notability? What do y'all think?

Drag-and-drop Stickers to import in bulk + import from Files

I usually keep my stickers in my Files app (I'm on Apple) and being able to drag and drop Stickers into collections to import them would be great to streamline/speed up the process.

Tips for reducing battery drain with Goodnotes 7?

iPad Pro (M4) 13-inch, iPadOS 27 Public Beta, 98% max capacity with 190 charge cycles.

I'm on Goodnotes Essential. I've tried: keeping Goodnotes Cloud sync turned off (turning it on to sync my files periodically), Spellcheck and math assist are off, Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency are on, background app refresh is off, etc. Today, I tried turning off the handwriting recognition. I felt like the battery drainage reduced a bit, no heating for about half an hour, but it started heating up over time?

I've been stalking my battery usage throughout the day and I can't quite figure out if it's Goodnotes alone or a combination of apps causing my iPad to heat up.

It's not too much of a problem, as I'm on summer break, but once I go to school, it might be a stretch to expect it to survive a complete day of lectures without needing to be topped up (I prefer to charge it up in increments instead of charging for longer sessions to reduce the amount of charge cycles I accumulate - when at home, I keep it plugged in virtually always with the 80% cap on).

Will re-installing the app be better? Does keeping these accessibility settings on even do anything or is it just messing up the UI? Obviously, this isn't a short-term solution, but would waiting for my subscription to run out next year and switching to the lifetime subscription be better? Low battery mode is a no-brainer, but I heard somewhere that your devices aren't made to be constantly on LBM, so I try to keep it off until about 20%.

(Don't tell me to switch to Noteful, I switched from Noteful to Goodnotes on my own accord and I'm well aware of the downsides, though I'm more satisfied with GN's performance over Noteful when handling larger files.)

OS 27 Public Beta stability?

I have a 1 TB M4 iPad Pro and I was wondering what y'all's experience with the new public beta has been. I see a lot of reviewers who glaze it, but don't really address the stability issues. I could very much use the new features asap, but I only have the 200GB plan for iCloud and haven't conducted a backup. I've run beta software before and been OK, so I'm wondering how big of a risk I could be taking.

How to navigate reconciliation with dumpee without being strung along?

I saw this morning that my ex (dumpee) sent me a Reel and asked me if the simulation in it was made in Blender (a program I'm very passionate about). (See attached image.) I don't feel like answering what feels like yet another breadcrumb, but wouldn't want to be actively sabotaging something potentially good or progressive in some way.

I know very well how to navigate my ex in person and can do so largely stress-free by basically matching the effort, but I'm pretty lost and iffy about how to handle him digitally/over messages.

I see all kinds of advice around these kinds of forums saying that you shouldn't answer breadcrumbs, and if you're a dumper, that you shouldn't answer be the one to fix it.

Being both the dumper and feeling like every unprompted push for reconciliation from me is sending me down a notch (best results have come from being passive but responsive to him instead of taking the initiative), I don't know what to do going forward. I know reconnecting and re-establishing trust will be a slow and rocky process, which will require me to be open and receptive (?), but I also don't want to be somehow giving him ego-boosts or strung along.

FOR CONTEXT:

I broke up with my ex in around mid January this year, ending our 14-month long relationship.

We share classes and most of our closest friends, so complete no contact was virtually impossible without isolating. Also, we never completed a full no contact period either.

The breakup was messy and involved a ton of hot and cold cycles between us. He is highly resentful of me, but has been seemingly cooling off over time, as he appears more open to light banter in person and is overall more responsive than before.

I have tried to 'fix' our issues before, but ex wasn't open for it. We agreed in May to let reconnecting happen naturally (see attached image to see the last constructive conversation we've had), but I gave up trying on my side because of what felt like disregard of my efforts from his side, and I decided the next best thing was just to let him be until he essentially came to me.

In the past few months, I've been processing the issues and instabilities in our relationship through my journal and have also been able to work on myself and pour into the areas of my life that I had been trying to fill with external validation and work. I'm proactively healing from previous unresolved trauma and insecurities. :)

Is iPadOS 27 Dev Beta 2 good or should I wait?

I have an 13" M4 iPad Pro. I've heard some good things about the OS 27 developer betas everywhere I look and I've been a bit sceptical of the downsides of it. I could definitely use the enhanced calendar app asap/smarter Siri, but I don't know if the risk is worth it when I sometimes use this iPad more than my phone on a daily basis. What are your experiences with it, thoughts?

Other ways to use Goodnotes?

Does anyone have any ideas, resource links, or suggestions for other types of things I could use GN for? Preferably free or cheap options.

I've been looking around for other ways to use GN, as I realised that digital planning isn't sustainable for me (as someone with ADHD) as much as it's a fun creative project. I do use GN for studying and note-taking, but as i'm on summer break, I don't have much to actively note down. I've recently bought a character workbook, as I'm a storywriter.

Add location to tasks

Something that the native Apple Calendar app does is allow you to set a location at which an event happens, which also conveniently is displayed in notifications or widgets too, I believe. At least on my Apple Watch, I can see the location for every task with a location. I see that TickTick has a location reminder feature, but I would find it nice to be able to see the location displayed with the task at a glance.

Widget displaying only current task or next task with time left

A feature I enjoyed from an app named Structured were the widgets that just displayed the current or next upcoming task (if no current task is active) and its subtasks, and the time or time left of the task (just like how TickTick does with displaying hours and minutes until on today tasks), as I think the calendar and task widgets can get pretty crammed (and tasks become pretty indistinguishable with clear icons on iOS).
