Do I look clinically underweight?

Do I look clinically underweight?

Clinically underweifhr is below 5th percentile bmi (like below 10% body fat for my age atm). I think they are referring to body fat in this case . I think due to my body type, my body fat was higher than bmi said it was.

I don't know if there are signs of being underweight or malnourished, just from physical appearance, so I came here to ask for your thoughts.

This was when I was 13.5 yo and 4'11 and I was 73lbs/33kg at the time (measured in morning). Bmi reports considerably underweight but Ive heard that bmi underestimates body fat in shorter stared people, and I think I was naturally thin boned (I have 15cm wrists, 27" waist as adult at 120lbs at 5'5). i was tanner stage 3 in pic, if it matters.

I kinda messed up by staying like this for 4 months during puberty though.

Any medications for weight gain?

Hello! I’m an 18 year old female recovering from an eating disorder. I currently weigh 68 lbs at 5 feet tall. In the past, medications that increased my appetite helped me gain around 18 lbs, capping at around 79lbs, which made a big difference for my recovery.

I was previously prescribed Lexapro, and while it did help increase my appetite, I struggled with the side effects. I felt emotionally flat and lost motivation to do the things I normally enjoy, so I stopped taking it.

After stopping the medication, I experienced very rapid weight loss and lost over 15 lbs in about 2 months. Since then, it has been very difficult to regain the weight. I’ve gained about 6 lbs since the major weight loss after stopping Lexapro, but it took around 5 months to gain that back, and I’ve now been stuck at 68 lbs for the past 2 months with little to no progress.

Part of the issue is that I have a very small appetite and feel full quickly, so eating large amounts is difficult for me physically as well as mentally.

I’m wondering if there are any other medications that can help increase appetite, support weight gain, or improve hunger cues without causing the same antidepressant-related side effects. I’m especially interested in options that are commonly used for people recovering from restrictive eating disorders or severe low weight.

I know medication is not a replacement for recovery or nutrition therapy, but I feel physically stuck and would appreciate hearing about possible options I could discuss with my doctor. Thank you. 🙂

I'm struggling to gain weight. should i consider mass gainer?

Im 15 Male 5'8 and my weight is 48 kgs (or 105 .8 lbs). Im slim and have remained slim for all of my life till now that im 15 and cant seem to gain weight. i would sometimes eat a lot of proteins and calories consistently in lots of portion but just cant seem to gain even a few pounds from it. I started gym a couple months ago and i knew that weight gaining for me is very important if i wanna build muscle. I tried those high calorie and protein homemade shakes, a high calorie diet (eggs, chicken etc). However, i just didnt seem to gain any weight whatsoever maybe a kilo i guess but i should be gaining much much more.

Im starting gym agian after a couple of weeks and my weight is the biggest problem. At this point i dont even know how fast my metabolism is. So i have decided to take mass gainer for some weeks so i can give my weight a boost so i can settle back to fully natural diet but i have heard that it has a lot of negative side effects. Many say that once you stop taking mass gainer your weight will start to drop. And its very harmful for me because of my age. Some say i should stay at fully natural diet. I wonder if its actually effective and can i gain weight by it and maintain it long term after leaving it or should i just try to gain weight through fully natural diet if i wanna build muscle.

Struggling to gain weight😭

I'm 18 and my weight is 45kg-46kg, started gym last year and left in 3 months cause I had no proper diet and gained nothing. Started again last month, can't make it consistent so I left again. I have bought an anabolic mass gainer as well but I don't know how to use it properly.

Now I'm thinking about starting gym again next week, I need proper guidance and a roadmap to gain weight. I can afford good diets and anything required even mass gainers.

But here's the issue, I have some stomach issues as well, I take medicines for it as well. Also I can't do breakfast in the morning as I don't feel like eating anything. So I need advice on it as well like what should I do that I can easily breakfast in the morning.

I am quite a strange-looking boy, but i’m not sure if i’m underweight. I’m 14, 6’5 (genetic condition) and 149 lbs.

I’m not sure, it seems to depend on who I ask.
