i won a discover eu pass and on september 24 i planned to go from amsterdam to paris. there is a train from 11.10 to 14.35, and the discover eu app says the seat reservation is required, but when i go to book it it says “No price results were found. Pass holder seats may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.” screenshots below. what can i do?

Pass Activation

Hey,

I have a problem. My train is leaving tomorrow at like 7AM and I wanted to activate my pass today. Upon entering the last three characters of my passport number (as requested by the app), I receive an error message "Something went wrong." My hotel at my destination is already booked and if this problem doesn't resolve itself in until tomorrow morning I will have lost a lot of money. I already called the discover eu hotline for help but they couldn't help me. I then tried getting into contact with the help center but there are no answers yet. Any suggestions on what to do?

RESOLVED: I logged out of my account and then back in. This made it work.

About the flights

Hi, I am a bit confused about the possibility of traveling to some countries by plane with the program.

I've read somewhere in the FAQ that it was possible only if you're from an "isolated" country from means of transportations like trains going to foreign countries.

Yet I often hear about some of the participants that have had the opportunity to travel to eligible countries by plane although they don't come from these "isolated countries".

Please, could someone enlighten me about this ?

Second question: if it is possible to do that, is it then possible to have an outbound different than the return ? Or does it have to be your home country for each ?

I really want to visit Ireland, and what I had in mind was: Paris->Dublin ; Dublin->Berlin.

Thx

I am looking for anyone sharing similar rail route

Hi, my name is Dawid, I am 18 years old and I come from Poland. I am looking for anyone sharing some parts of my journey. I will have my journey around Europe starting on the 20th of August and ending on the 5th of September. I am more of an introvert. My interests are music, languages (more on the linguistic side), food, math, resting (literally).

Here's the plan:

Flight to Podgorica 20.08🇲🇪

Podgorica 20.08-22.08🇲🇪

Belgrad 22.08-25.08🇷🇸

Budapest 25.08-27.08🇭🇺

Not sure 27.08-29.08🇭🇺/🇸🇮/other...

Graz 29.08-1.09🇦🇹

Milano 01.09-03.09🇮🇹

Through Tirano-St.Moritz-Chur-Zürich-Anywhere_in_South_Germany 03.09🇨🇭/not much of 🇩🇪

South Germany 03.09-05.09🇩🇪

Train back to Poland 05.09🇵🇱

The travel map is a little bit wrong, but I hope you can get the idea.

I travel kind of on a budget I will try to spend less than 500€, not sure how it is going to end up.

Is 19 countries too much?

My friend and I have planned a trip for September, 3rd-25th, and somehow managed to squeeze in 19 countries, 15 visiting 4 passing through. The initial plan had 9 and somehow it more than doubled in size after I agreed to go to the Balkans as well. The plan is below, all places mentioned are stops we will visit.

Poland -> Austria

Austria - Liechtenstein - Switzerland -> France

France -> Belgium -> day trip to Paris -> Netherlands

Netherlands - Germany - Denmark -> Sweden

Sweden - Denmark -> Germany

Germany -> Slovenia

Slovenia -> Italy

Italy - Croatia -> Serbia

Serbia -> Montenegro

Montenegro - Serbia -> Poland

The image itself shows our journey, red paths are the Flixbuses and buses we pay for ourselves.

I need honesty, even though everything is already booked.

Is it too much or a once in a lifetime adventure and we should give it a shot? Everyone, including ourselves, are calling it crazy, but we like our plan, even though it will be exhausting.

I need people's honest opinions.

Stuck with ÖBB pickup code in Italy

UPDATE: The OBB Italian office wasn't able to help either. I was lucky enough to find a kind person living in Austria on an Italian Facebook Group who printed and mailed the tickets to me. Thank you to the wonderful people here who offered help.

My main takeaways, if you book from outside Austria:

  1. When booking on ÖBB website, make sure you're logged in, so that your tickets will appear in the MyTickets section. Do not book as a guest.
  2. Even better, download and book through their app. In this way, you'll get e-tickets in the app.
  3. DO NOT select pick-up code, unless you are planning to collect the tickets in Austria.

***

I accidentally selected "Create Pick-Up Code" on ÖBB for a Venice to Munich train on Sept 20 (Nightjet couchette).

Since I'm departing from Italy, there are no ÖBB machines to print it. ÖBB phone support won't convert it to a PDF, and the ticket is non-refundable.

  1. Has anyone had someone in Austria print the ticket and mail it to Italy? Is that too risky?
  2. Has the Nightjet conductor let you board using just your email confirmation and passport? Do they check you in on their handheld device?

Any advice from someone who's done this would be huge. Also, if anyone has any other suggestions, that would be awesome.

DiscoverEU mobile pass “Show ticket” button greyed out

I’m currently travelling with a DiscoverEU Interrail Global Pass, and today is one of my travel days.
My Ljubljana → Milano Centrale journey is definitely added to my Pass. The journey appears in My Trip, the toggle is pink/active, and My Pass shows:

“Wednesday, 12 August 2026”
“Ljubljana - Milano Centrale”
“All set! Show your ticket during inspection.”

However, the “Show ticket” button is completely greyed out and I cannot tap it.

I’ve already:
Added the journey to the Pass
Activated today as a travel day
Checked that the journey is active in My Trip
Made sure I have an internet connection
Restarted the DiscoverEU app

The weird part is that the ticket worked normally yesterday. Nothing about my pass or journey setup has changed.

I have to show the ticket to a train inspector today, so I’m pretty concerned that I won’t be able to display the QR code when they check.

Has anyone using DiscoverEU experienced this exact issue? Is there a way to force the ticket to generate, or is this a problem with the app?

I’ve attached screenshots showing the active journey and the greyed-out “Show ticket” button.

i haven't been online?

I am online, logged on the hotel wifi, i also tried mobile data (through roaming, idk if it matters), why is this showing up?

my next train is in 2 days, under the 45 hour mark, but what happens if the timer expires, and will my ticket be valid in 2 days?

How does this app work ??

Hey everyone ! I'm a young french traveler and I'm supposed to start my trip in 2 days... (And it's my first ever trip without my parents or proper adults around so that's why I may appear STRESSED)

But I just CAN'T figure out how the discover EU app works ?? Like what's up with the seat reservation thing? If I'm running out of credits will my reservations cost money ? But weren't the trains supposed to be free with the pass ?

And when I don't need to book seat reservations, is it normal to have NO train tickets ?

There's just NO confirmation about anything ANYWHERE and it's really driving me crazy 😭

I'm supposed to go with two friends but I'm really stressed rn, if anyone who knows how this app works could explain IN DETAILS to me, PLEASE THIS WOULD HELP SO MUCH THANK YOU !!

Munich S-bahn tickets

Hello! I’m currently in Munich and want to use the DiscoverEU pass on the S-bahn, but the times and final destinations of the S-bahn trains on the DiscoverEU app rarely match up with the ones that are arriving at the station. My guess is that since they are arriving so often (every 2 minutes or so), that they are delayed or something along the lines, but how can I activate the right ticket then if the train isn’t right? Is there a possibility that I can activate the ticket of a S-bahn going the same direction as I want to, but with a different end destination and it’s still correct if a controller checks? Thanks!

I'm confused about pricing

Which trains are free and which ones do we need to pay for? The ones we pay for do we have discounts ?

When do I activate my pass?

My friend and I are planning our trip for September, and when I open the DiscoverEU app it says "Ticket not ready for the journey, activate the pass"

I've heard way too many different things about it and my question is - when do I do it? Do I do it now? Do I do it right before the trip starts? Does it have to be active to book trains which require reservations? I'm really confused here and would greatly appreciate any help.
