Tips for extra health in Deathsmiles?

So far what I’ve been doing:

Saving the Swamp for my second to last level, destroying the car for the Life Up. Does this item actually give me an extra bar of health or is it just a half heal? Also I’m saving the volcano for my final level at Level 3. Doing the rock trick gets me an extra bar of health and I think a half heal.

Are there any other ways to get another bar of health? Are the Life Up items just half heals?

ESP Ra. De. PSI: Arcade or Arcade Plus?

Started playing it and absolutely adore the aesthetic. Seems like Arcade Plus adds a few things and makes some QoL changes like boss milking. Which do you recommend for a beginner? I’m not looking for an easy mode, but something still faithful to the original experience. Or is the original still preferable?

Help getting into Xenoblade?

I’ve started Xenoblade 1 like 3 times and Xenoblade 2 twice. I like the combat and think I understand it. One thing that’s putting me off from Xenoblade 1 is it feels very grindy. I’ll get stomped by bosses incredibly fast despite being able to safely make my way to them. Seems like the consensus is I need to do side quests that most people say are boring? Is that the best way to stay leveled? Any other mechanics or tips I should note?

Aiming to get my first 1CC. Eyeing Espgaluda or Mushihimesama. Thoughts?

Which game do you think is more attainable for a newbie? Basically I've been just trying to see how far I can get on one set of lives and starting over when I see the Continue screen. Not sure if I should be abusing save states or watching playthroughs.

What is your favorite playstyle for Classic Mega Man?

Let me know if I forgot one! My vote goes for MM3. I really like having the slide, but the charge feels better in X IMO.

Are there any specific rules or conditions for a 1CC?

I’m still very new to the genre and I’ve noticed a lot of games have multiple modes like “Arcade”, “Black Label” and some even have Easy, Normal, Hard modes.

When somebody says they 1cced a game, does that count for anything? Like easy mode?

Is the upcoming Tohou game a good place to start?

I’m fairly new to shmups and never played a Tohou. From what I’ve read, the upcoming game is a remake of like the fourth or fifth game, which is the start of the current story? Just wondering if it would be a good place for a noob to start with.

Best version of Deathsmiles on Steam?

Should I get the version by itself or the double pack with Deathsmiles 2? Also, why is a different developer listed on the 1+2 pack? Thanks!

New to modding, FFT:TIC keeps crashing

I'm using reloader and the fft modloader. is it because the game was recently patched? The only mods I want are the onion/dark knight, the f8 turbo mod, the KO sound mod and the sprite mod. Just wondering if I maybe did something wrong or if it was the patches.

Anyone get their Adventures Vol 1?

I preordered mine back in November and it got delayed, with a new release date of today. Now out of nowhere my order needed “reconfirmation” and Amazon says it’s out of stock. Normally I’d see somebody online with one but I’m not seeing it anywhere.

Is Battle Networks music technically 8 bit?

Like a lot of people mention- GBA music tends to have that compressed sound to it, but I always felt like Battle Network music didn’t have that. A lot of the music almost sounds like it could be on the NES games.

I’m not very technology or music smart, so pardon the silly question- but is Battle Network music 8 bit?

Spirit of Justice or Investigations 2?

So funny enough, I have a save files about 1/3 through of both Dual Destinies and Investigations 1. I know both of these games have meh reputations, but their sequels are way more loved. Which one should I power through first to get to their sequel? I plan on playing them all one day but just wondering which one is better

Rookie getting into the genre and got a few questions

  1. Should I be using d-pad or joystick?

  2. Where should my eyes be? I don't know if its better to focus on the enemies and their projectiles or just focusing on my ship to dodge those projectiles when they get near.

  3. Do people usually start on Easy and move up difficulties or start on Normal?

Any other tips would be much appreciated!

Is there any hope for Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood?

Last I heard there were some disputes regarding how the money was displaced. It’s been pretty quiet ever since which is a bummer. I love both Wild Arms and Shadow Hearts.

How much time passes between GAA-1 and GAA2-2?

So I know that 2-2 is a flashback, but does the entirety of GAA1 take place in a week or two weeks? 2-1 is what like two months after 1-5? And then 2-2 goes back to
The same week of GAA1.

Honestly I think that’s one of the biggest frustrations I’m having with these games. It wasn’t until 2-3 that I actually felt like time had passed with these characters.

How bad is 4 if I just want to play once and not 100%?

I skipped BN4 because I hear nothing but bad things about it. But it’s the only BN game I havent touched and I’m kinda missing the gameplay.

Running into a weird issue with Phantom of Network PC port

Earlier this year a pc port for Phantom of Network was released. So I followed the steps, patched the correct file and then put that file in the PC PON ENG folder. I can boot up the game and get like 80% of the dialogue, but I get randomly empty text boxes like from LAN asking to jack out or some Prog dialogue. I made sure I patched the right ENG file. What am I doing wrong?
