Looking for Directing Opportunities | Filmmaker / Director…

Hi everyone,
I’m a filmmaker/director currently looking for opportunities to work on short films, music videos, advertisements, creative photoshoots, web series, or feature films.
I’ve previously worked as an Assistant Director on a couple of films and web series, as well as on an advertisement. I’m currently working on a short film of my own, while also looking to collaborate on projects that I genuinely connect with.

I’m attaching a link to my first short film, which I made around 8 years ago. That was where I started, and since then I’ve had the opportunity to gain experience and grow—not just in terms of filmmaking, but also in storytelling, visual language, and understanding cinema as a medium.

For me, cinema is art. I’m particularly drawn to stories that are emotional, human, layered, and leave you feeling something after watching them. I want to make films that make people feel, connect, and root for the characters, rather than simply focusing on entertainment or commercial appeal.
I understand that commercial cinema has its own place and there are many talented filmmakers who excel at it. I believe every filmmaker has their own voice and way of telling stories, and artistic identity is something worth preserving.

So, if you’re looking for a director for a short film, music video, advertisement, web series, or feature, I’d be happy to connect. I’m open to different formats and collaborations, provided the story and the project are something I genuinely believe in.
I’m not looking to simply direct something for the sake of it. If I connect with the story and believe I can bring something meaningful to it, I’m in.
Thank you for reading.
Feel free to DM me if you’d like to discuss a project or collaborate.

Recommend me a movie to turn into a poster…

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for a movie recommendation because I want to create a poster for it.

I’m not a designer, but I know my way around Photoshop. Whenever I feel stuck with writing or just need a break, I like opening Photoshop and doing some creative stuff for a while. It gives me that little dopamine hit and helps me get my brain moving again.

I want to make a movie poster just for fun, but I think it would be much easier if I actually watched the movie first. That way I can understand the story, themes, characters, atmosphere, symbolism, etc., and then try to translate all of that into a poster.
So, recommend me **any movie that you think would be fun to interpret visually**. It can be popular, underrated, weird, old, new — anything.

I’m mainly looking for something that gives me a lot to play with creatively.
Thanks! …

Looking for a Female Writer for a 5-Minute Short Film — Unpaid / Passion Project

Hi everyone,

I’m 25M and I’m writing a 5-minute short film. I’m trying to make this independently, and honestly, I see this project as a restart for my career. I really want to make it happen, and I’m hoping to build a small team of people who genuinely love art and want to contribute something of themselves to it.

This isn’t meant to be an ordinary commercial short film. It’s something more art-driven, intimate, and feel-good, with a different kind of emotional experience. I’m looking for people who connect with that kind of storytelling.

Why am I specifically looking for a female writer?

Because I really value women’s sensibilities and perspectives, and I feel that a female perspective could bring something to this particular story that I might not be able to bring on my own.

This is unpaid work, so I completely understand that it may not be for everyone. I’m looking for someone who genuinely wants to create something, experiment, collaborate, and be part of a small creative team.

One thing I want to clarify based on my previous post:

I received a few DMs from people saying they don’t have any writing experience but watch a lot of movies. Some read my script, gave me their opinions/reviews, and left it at that.

I really appreciate anyone who took the time to read my work, but that isn’t what I’m looking for right now.

You don’t necessarily need professional credits or a long resume. But you should believe that you can write and, more importantly, you should be able to actually work on the screenplay and/or dialogues.

So please DM me only if you’re interested in writing and feel confident that you can contribute to the screenplay or dialogues.

You don’t need to be an established writer. If you’ve written things on your own, experimented with scripts, scenes, dialogues, stories, etc., that’s enough for me to start a conversation.

I’m not looking for someone to simply review my script. I’m looking for a collaborator.

If this sounds like something you’d genuinely enjoy being part of, feel free to DM me. Tell me a little about yourself and, if you have something you’ve written before, I’d love to see it.

I’m trying to put together a team of people who care about making something meaningful, even if it starts small.

Thank you for reading...

Seriously, what the hell is going on with Airtel’s network in Hyderabad?

I’m on an Airtel Postpaid Family Black plan, and honestly, the network has been absolutely pathetic. And no, this isn’t just about basements — even the normal signal quality is consistently poor. Calls drop, data becomes painfully slow, and there are plenty of places where the signal is weak or barely usable.

The Basement 2 issue is just the worst example. In the exact same building, Jio manages to get a perfectly usable signal in Basement 2 while Airtel practically disappears. Same building. Same basement. Different networks. Jio works, Airtel struggles.

And this is supposed to be a premium postpaid service?

I’m paying for a Family Black plan expecting better service, reliability and coverage, but instead I’m constantly dealing with weak signals and unreliable data. What exactly is the point of paying extra for postpaid when the basic network experience itself is this bad?

Postpaid is bullshit if the network is this unreliable.

Airtel seriously needs to stop focusing on pushing premium plans and actually fix the damn network. Improve the overall coverage, improve indoor reception, improve call quality, improve data speeds — just make the network consistently usable.

And to be clear, I’m not saying Airtel is bad only in basementsThe normal day-to-day signal is worse than it should be too. The Basement 2 situation just makes the difference with Jio impossible to ignore.

If Jio can provide a usable signal in the same locations where Airtel struggles, what exactly am I paying Airtel a premium for?

I’ve been using Airtel postpaid, but this experience is seriously making me consider moving everything to Jio.

Airtel, stop selling “premium” plans and fix your f*king signals.

25 [M4F] Hyderabad - Looking to connect with someone who are into classical dance or music…

Hi, I’m 25M, I've been realizing lately that I'd really like to find a companion or be in a relationship. Even if it doesn't lead to that, I'd love to make genuine female friends—someone I can talk to, share life with, and build a real connection.
I've always found women who are into classical art forms, especially Malayalam (Kerala) classical dance or music, incredibly charming. There's something about their passion, grace, and dedication that I really admire. I'd love to meet someone with those interests, get to know them, and see where things go. If we don't click romantically, I'd be more than happy to stay friends.
I'm honestly not sure where people with these interests usually hang out or how to connect with them. If anyone has suggestions or has been in a similar situation, I'd really appreciate the advice.
And to be clear, while I have a soft spot for Mallu girls, I'm absolutely open to meeting people from any language or background. At the end of the day, it's the connection that matters. I just hope I find my person someday…

How can I make digital footage look like it was shot on real 35mm/65mm film?

Hi everyone,

I'm a huge fan of the look of analog motion picture film—Kodak film stock, 35mm, 65mm, and IMAX. There's something about the texture, grain, highlight roll-off, colors, and overall organic feel that I absolutely love. One day, I'd love to shoot on real film.

For now, though, I'm working with a very limited budget on a short film, so shooting digitally is my only option.

I'm not looking for a generic "cinematic" digital look. My goal is to get as close as possible to the look and feel of footage shot on actual film stock.

Has anyone here successfully achieved this? If so, I'd really appreciate your advice.
Thanks in advance! I'd love to learn from your experience...

Aspiring Director | Looking to build a long-term filmmaking circle

Hi everyone!

I'm a 25M-year-old aspiring filmmaker/director from India.

A few years ago, I worked as an Assistant Director on a couple of films and a web series. After that, life just... paused. For almost two years, I wasn't part of any production. Looking back, I know I could've pushed myself harder. At the same time, I also believe those years shaped me in ways I probably don't understand yet. Maybe that's just how life was meant to unfold.

Instead of dwelling on it, I've decided to restart.

Right now, I'm writing a 5-minute short film, and I want it to be the first step toward the career I've always dreamed of.

I'm not looking for people who simply enjoy watching films. I'm hoping to connect with people who genuinely want to make films—people who want to write, shoot, edit, direct, compose, act, create, and tell stories.

I'm looking to connect with:

  • Writers
  • Directors
  • Assistant Directors
  • Cinematographers (DOPs)
  • Editors
  • Actors
  • Art Directors
  • Music Composers
  • Sound Designers
  • Anyone serious about creating films.

The kind of cinema I want to make is rooted in human emotions, relationships, and honest storytelling. I naturally gravitate toward films that are grounded, artistic, and emotionally truthful rather than relying on clichés or spectacle. That doesn't mean I dislike commercial cinema—it just means I'm searching for people whose creative sensibilities align with mine.

I'd also be really happy if women join too—not just as actors, but as writers, cinematographers, editors, assistant directors, art directors, composers, or in any creative role. I genuinely value different perspectives, and I believe they help create richer, more honest stories.

A little about me...

I'm an introvert. I don't find it easy to start conversations or mingle with new people. Over the years, I've gradually drifted away from most of the friends I once had, and filmmaking has become the one dream I've held onto. So apart from finding collaborators, I'm also hoping to meet good people who share the same passion. If this journey gives me a few genuine friendships along the way, I'd consider that just as valuable as making a film.

I'm thinking of creating a small WhatsApp Community or Discord server where we can discuss ideas, share scripts, give feedback, collaborate on projects, and hopefully grow together over the years.

I'm not expecting everyone to become a team overnight. Maybe we'll collaborate. Maybe we'll simply exchange ideas. Maybe we'll realize our creative styles don't match—and that's perfectly okay too. Maybe nobody responds. Maybe one person does. And honestly, even if I find just one genuine collaborator or one good friend through this post, I'd be grateful. Sometimes that's all it takes to begin something meaningful.

If this resonates with you, feel free to comment or send me a DM.

Let's stop waiting for the "right time."

Let's make films...

Edit - Hey everyone,
I wanted to thank everyone who reached out, commented, and showed interest. I genuinely appreciate it.
After spending some time talking to people and thinking it through, I've decided not to create the WhatsApp community for now.
Looking back, I think I got a little ahead of myself. I should've simply reached out looking for a writer or a collaborator for my current short film instead of trying to build a community from the start.
Right now, I think my priority should be finishing my screenplay and becoming a better filmmaker. I don't want to take on the responsibility of running a community unless I know I can give it the time and attention it deserves.
To everyone who messaged me—thank you and so so sorry. I genuinely appreciate your time, and I wish you all the very best in your filmmaking journeys.
Hopefully someone else takes this idea forward and creates a meaningful space for filmmakers to connect and collaborate.
Until then, it's back to writing.
Thank you…

Looking for a female writer for an unpaid collaboration on a 5-minute short film.

Hi!

I'm an aspiring filmmaker/director, currently developing a 5-minute dialogue-driven short film.

I'm looking for a female writer who'd be interested in collaborating (unpaid) to help shape the screenplay, especially the conversations and emotional dynamics. Since the story revolves around a deeply emotional relationship, I'd love to have a woman's perspective during the writing process.

I'm not looking for ghostwriting, but a genuine creative collaboration where we can brainstorm, discuss scenes, challenge ideas, and write together. If the collaboration goes well, I'd love to continue working on future projects too.

It's a grounded, character-driven short with only two main characters.

If you enjoy writing emotional, slice-of-life conversations and would like to collaborate just for the love of storytelling, feel free to DM me.

Thanks!...
