I was told I had GERD early 2025 due to almost 3 years of a constant cough, I changed my diet and wasnt given any information about what to eat to help but basically told everything to avoid....was told to avoid everything containing butter or any pasta sauce which was 90 percent of all food I had, I was also told to lay off sugar, citrus, and only lean meats. I almost starved myself and the cardboard boxes at my work looked good at that point ;) .

Skipping ahead to now I added more vegetables in my life and trying to slowly cut down until I ended up in the ER the other day for massive chest pains..and my esophagus is so sore from being burnt by the acids ive been vomiting. I was put on a medication and told to figure out my dietary situation.

Its getting hard to survive without my normal pasta, fruit salad options. Eating healthy is expensive, and I have been googling questions and hardly getting yes or no answers. Im trying to educate myself on optional foods.

Thought id ask for advice from those struggling with the same. Also kinda wanted to vent...this is frustrating I feel like my body caused my life to change out of nowhere.

29 yr old M.

Literally was talking to a guy for like 2 weeks almost everyday and things seemed cool until I shared with him about my family issues simply to compare and contrast with his. He made some remark about us trauma bonding and he was uncomfortable with it, then blocked me.

So im not saying blocking is or isnt okay...Im okay if you dont like me block me cause that helps me not remember you. However, if you keep saying you're having trouble making friends and conversate with me every day for 2 weeks then just randomly get cold feet over my parents not liking me cause im gay...that little thing really triggered you to say " I dont wanna be friends with this guy, his parents dont like him but my parents like me..block!." LOL.

Im not at all trying to whine or seem touchy I'm getting better with rejection from people and relationships..I just think wow today's people have really gotten picky and touchy about everything about other people, we cant even talk to each other anymore.

Is anybody comfortable sharing a experience similar?

I have 4 years of security experience, 8 years in social work, one year working at a psychiatric hospital, one year working at a detox facility, and 5 years in retail. With all of my experience and relationship building I never thought I would be worried about my future, but it seems so difficult to find a job nowadays?

Why is it so difficult to just pick up a job? Are employers lacking care of hiring? Are we loosing jobs? Is there something about applications and resumes im lacking?

Obviously, I will get mixed responses so I ask everybody to be friendly and no racist comments please.
