No, stop comparing it with Kaantara.

For a Tamil diaspora person who has been to multiple thiruvizhas that carry out Karuppan, Madurai Veeran, Ayyanar, Katteri, Sudugattu Kaali etc invocation. Boothakolas as shown in Kaantara was just something mild. No disrespect intended as all forms of village deity worships are somewhat similar but as a Tamil person, the invocation of our village deity is just far more ferocious, eery, spooky, ear drum tearing, and chest popping ceremony.

The way the ceremonies happen, Urumis are the main instruments followed by Parai but Parai usually are optional, Urumi is beat a proper rythm and structure where the emotion is just built slowly, and once it reaches the peak there's no way of escaping trance for those who came there for it.

Once the person goes into trance, he bends down, holds his moustache (even with no moustache) and screams with growling voice while facing the ground, the whole crowd goes silent, he picks up machete and asks for cigars and mumbles before starting to talk in Royal Tamil (Senthamizh), usually there will be some kind of statements coming out of his mouth and the ceremony ends with the person losing consciousness for a while.

When it is Katteri/Kaali, Or Madurai Veeran, it's a little different in characteristics but the ceremony is in similar tone.

Karuppu climax was a disappointment as it didn't involve properly structured rhythmic invocation with Urumi, Karuppu didn't scream with growling voice, there's was no Royal Tamil from Karuppu. If they actually did that, instead of one or two trance cases, you'd have seen a quarter of cinemas going into trance. Yes Karuppu just missed a good opportunity, what can you expect from a halfboiled pazham like RJB.

And for Tamils on social media who are trying to pull mild kaantara into the debate, are you all some elite p*luthis who have never been to a Tamil village deity invocation?or you only go to elite temples like Sri Rangam and Madurai Meenakshi?. Or is it just my country that we do proper Invocation with our ancient musical instruments? And you guys probably lost it?.

Listen to the songs in the Album below on how Urumi is given importance unlike you TN guys. Listen to all 10 and pick your favorite
