I find the attitudes of people in the forbidden west very interesting.

Going into the forbidden west we are told that the tenakth do not get along whatsoever with the carja or anyone else from the east. Which obviously figures because of the red raids. However when we first arrive in scalding spear, or thornmarsh, or any of the other small tenakth settlements, we are welcomed by basically everyone. The exception to this is the bulwark, but that's only because they hate everyone, not just the people from the east. (And of course there are the rebels)

Meanwhile, when we arrive in stones echo (an utaru village) we are met with: "keep out outlander, stones echo is utaru only!"

I find it interesting that the utaru throughout the game are so inherently racist/xenophobic towards:*literally everyone* and even the Quen arnt much better. The utaru are supposed to be relatively chill with the carja by now, so why are they so hostile whilst the tenakth (who are supposed to be hostile) are chill?

Transferring game data from PS4 edition to PS5 edition.

Lets say I'm using a PS5 and I'm playing a game on the PS4 edition. If I install the PS5 edition, how can I transfer the data over, and also how can I prevent the data from transferring over? Is it possible to upload the data to the cloud from the PS4 edition then download it onto the PS5 edition? Or will it do it automatically. And also is there a way I can have essentially two separate accounts, one on PS4 edition and one on PS5 edition?

I have really done my best to search on Google and YouTube for an answer to this question. I haven't been able to find sufficient information and I want to know how all the possible ways might work.

Thanks in advance.

What do y'all think is the toughest machine?

Out of all the large machines (excluding specter prime) which do you usually have the most difficulty with?

The choices are:

Thunderjaw

Slaughterspine

Slitherfang

Dreadwing

Fireclaw

Frostclaw

Rockbreaker

Stormbird

Tideripper

Shellsnapper

Behemoth

Tremortusk

Bilegut (if applicable. I haven't fought it yet.)

Imo tideripper and behemoth are the easiest.

I get the sense that slaughterspine is supposed to be the most difficult but it's weak to frost so it's really easy in reality. For me, especially on UH, stormbird is the most difficult- although the toughest challenge in any mode is usually having to fight multiple machines at once. Id rather fight a large machine than 3 medium or small ones.

I ask this because I'm playing on UH and I'm realizing that thunderjaw and stormbird suddenly outshine the others when you increase the difficulty.

Is there any way around this?

So basically if I want to have a small independent array of viewing galleries connected by a hyper loop, I also need to have a restroom, a food amenity, a shopping amenity, a drinks amenity, and an emergency shelter. The restroom and shelter are fine but why, seriously why, do I need amenities everywhere. Do I honestly have to have 3 small amenities every time I try and make a small isolated section of viewing galleries?

Major audio bug.

I know they haven't fixed this, because I'm experiencing it today. I have music and the occasional sound effect but that's it. But this issue is ages old and everyone seems to know about it, so why the fuck isn't it fixed, surely this is considered a substantial bug. I'd greatly appreciate help in fixing it, restarting and loading saves does not help. Id also like to know why the developers haven't addressed this.

EDIT: I've discovered you can fix this by doing a restart, but instead of quitting to main menu, you should save and then immediately close the application without quitting.

What actually are these wall pieces? I can't find them anywhere.

They are presumably part of the DLC but I can't find them under wall pieces. Can anyone help?

What are the best elements?

I've noticed that out of all the elements, frost/freeze seems to be extremely good. If you get frost on any machine it's usually an easy kill with a bow or boltblaster.

Out of the other elements, being fire, acid, plasma, shock and purgewater (AND adhesive and berserk) what others stand out as ones you guys like to use, and what ones are the best?

Personally I like frost and adhesive. Also someone tell me why you aren't allowed to use photos from the web in this sub 😭 holy totalitarian mods

How is it possible to do this?

How did they achieve these sea wall type things in the crocodilia coast trailer? Is it something that will only be possible with the new blocks or smthn? Or is it literally as simple as making a path at the top of a steep slope and putting the wall on the slope.

Also on console how are you supposed to align walls with each other? The controls are not precise enough.

People genuinely need to understand something.

A fantasy creature is defined as any creature that is fictional and does not exist in real life.

These two creatures are fantasy creatures.

The largest ant ever is Titanomyrma giganteum at 2.5 cm, and the Largest spider is the Goliath birdeater at 15cm. These two creatures are each ~5m+. The ant is unrealistically massive, several thousandths of the size of an irl ant, and the spider is also way larger than any real spider. These species are completely fictional, the modders literally describe them as 'fiction' and 'science fiction'. 'Gigarachne' and 'Magnus ant' never existed.

I'm not hating on the modders, nor the players of these creatures, but what I am saying is that any realism server with these creatures needs to acknowledge that they have fantasy creatures in their server. I am genuinely sick of people saying 'ants existed in real life so this massive 5 metre long helldivers ahh Terminid is paleontologically accurate'

Anyway, no hate, but people need to acknowledge this. :D

A map.

Asking advice for my next map, especially on locations for settlements and what the lore for each region and settlement should be, but literally any suggestions are welcome. I was trying to make it geographically realistic, but not to an absurd degree. Ask questions if you like, I'm busy forming the lore of each region and settlement.

Apparently you aren't allowed to post questions about world-building in r/worldbuilding

How come the right community servers don't exist?

It seems to me that two main types of community servers exist- servers with fast growth, commands and no rules, and servers with rules, slower growth and no commands.

How come that no server exists which satisfies the following:

Moderate/ fast growth.

Passive marks.

Semi realism rules.

Surely there must be players to which this is the ideal server, it can't be the case that every POT player is happy with the choice between KOS servers and realism/ semi realism. Why aren't there servers like crimson but with faster growth for people who have less time, for instance.

What large dinosaurs are good against ankle biters?

What medium/ large carnivores are expecially good against small tail riders and ankle biters that are hard to hit? I know lots of people like rex because of grab, I know lots of people like spino because *holy AOE* and I personally like sauro because I find lunge really good against things more agile/ faster than me. And also dasp has a hide that reduces damage from smaller creatures. But what other large dinosaurs are good against small things?

u/Accomplished_Tea3609 — 22 days ago

How good are these dinosaurs?

Context: I've been away from PoT for a while, new dinos have been added and tlcs have dropped.

I'd like to hear the community's opinion on the following dinosaurs regarding how good they are generally. And yes, I know stats vary based on the server, but I want to know what people generally think and how they generally perform.

Daspletasaurus.

Saurophaganax.

Suchomimus.

ExA Allosaurus.

Austroraptor.

Yutyrannus.

u/Accomplished_Tea3609 — 22 days ago

Can I have some opinions?

Just a map, vaguely inspired by Lord of the Rings, GOT etc. I don't have any name for the world, but I have a bit of lore in my head for each settlement/ region.

Why is Metricanthosaurus a large dinosaur, and why is giga lesbian?

So Metricanthosaurus is considered a large dinosaur. When you filter for large carnivores in jwe3 you get t rex, spino, giga, Indominous, acrocanthosaurus, and for some reason, metri? Metricanthosaurus is not a large dinosaur, is this a bug or something?

Also, why is giganotosaurus a lesbian? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's the best sexuality, you go girl. But seriously it's hilarious that if you put a male and female giga in an enclosure the female will be unhappy, but if you put two females, they get along fine. They lowk neither need nor care about men. 😂
