Postcard left in my bike

Postcard left in my bike

Ok, a postcard was left on my bike for an event. Picture is one of a business establishment with the same flyers posted. That event had a word in it that I was admonished for using in a description of myself. (And my response was deleted because, again, use of the “bad” word). I may be old but I’m confused here. I’m not allowed to type the word, or use it for myself- but events and businesses can use it publicly?

Why does Prada sell adult diapers (“poplin shorts”)?

I know nothing about designer clothes. But I got pushed this $875 diaper and I am wondering if someone can explain it? Does someone want to wear it in public? Why? It’s ugly and really looks like a thing to wear over Depends.

The model looks sickly and the gloves look like hospital garb gone wrong.

Is this just a designer having fun and saying what’s the ugliest thing we can get people to pay an enormous sum for? Or do people think it’s flattering and a good idea?

Mermaid party at A house question

Hi ~ I’m female and here with my male partner. We are both bi. I love love love tea dance at the Boat slip and always go a couple of times when I come to Ptown (not my partner’s scene - too loud and he isn’t as into dancing as I am) ~ it always feels like a big gay bar mitzvah. (I brought my GF a couple of times and she had fun despite herself - she is self conscious dancing).

Even during “women’s” weeks or events, PTown skews heavily male. I love the friendly guys (hello 🧸) but being around the ones who aren’t doesn’t make for a super fun time. I get that the boys are cruising but c’mon - I’m a great Fag Hag and love to boogie.

In my many years of coming here I walked into A house once - it just wasn’t super woman friendly.

So - skip the mermaid party tonight? Or might it be fun? I will get my partner to come - he is a happy night owl and happy to flirt with guys. We are also a bit on the older side.

Advice welcome!!

How much have you spent on new clothes?

How have you dealt with:

  1. the need to get a bunch of new clothes all at once
  2. the expense of this!
  3. where to go as a newly normal sized Middle Aged woman

Clothing shopping doesn’t super excite me. I don’t even know where to go. Maybe that’s from years of being fat (and middle aged) and it’s just not a delight. I gave up on shorts years ago - my thighs made the fabric bunch up with every step and a walk down the street meant tugging them down every few steps. No thanks. (Fortunately I found Title Nine skorts). I literally own no shorts for this reason. Skorts or skirts or leggings.

Who else knows the experience of patching the worn out inner thighs of that favorite pair of pants and finally having to throw them out because of it?

As I have lost weight, I got rid of my Old Navy pants I wear for work in sizes 14, then 12, then 10. Now I’m buying 6 and some of them still require a belt. (Old Navy runs large - I doubt size 6 would be loose on me in other brands). My beloved size L skorts I live in have been replaced by M and now S. Sometimes I’ve been able to find the same thing, just in a smaller size, on eBay and it’s pretty cheap.

In general I wear things with prints on bottoms and solid Ts or sweaters on top.

But I had a meltdown last week when I put on an old Indian print top that now feels and looks great on me - and had nothing to wear on the bottom. It was a hot summer day - too hot for heavy pants and the only bottoms that fit were loud prints. I finally can wear things that look nice and I have a lot of sacks.

In the past clothing has been acquired a bit at a time - combing through sale racks, often on vacation I’d buy one or two items. Now I suddenly have a lot of things that don’t fit right. I have things I’ve ordered from eBay I can’t wear (wrong fit). And I need stuff.

Has your deep sleep improved since Google took over?

The old app always clocked me with very little deep sleep - almost never more than 50 min in a night.

Now, I’m either getting a lot more deep sleep- or Google health is using a different algorithm. What has been your experience?

Kinda flabby but smaller!

Honestly I see it more in clothing. I went from a 14-16 to an 8. From an L to an S. BMI 30.5 to 24.2. About 30 lbs in total lost (20% of body weight). I don’t think I can lose more but trying to maintain.

How is compounded tirzepatide legal?

It looks like it’s not legal anymore but I see ads online. Is Peak Wellness legit? I’m on 12.5 of Zep but my insurance coverage ends next month and I’m seeking alternatives.

Condo Trustees won’t ratify owner vote [Condo] [MA]

We have 3 trustees. We bought the unit last summer; there is no annual vote or process for electing trustees. We have one trustee A who is responsible and knowledgeable; wants to get needed work done. Trustee Y does nothing. Like, nothing. Nothing at all. His wife asked a question at a condo meeting indicating he knows nothing and doesn’t seem to care. Trustee Z has lived there for decades and wants business as usual: almost nothing in reserves, annual assessments for the things literally falling apart, and nothing proactive. He is older and doesn’t have great English; he literally seems to believe that money in a reserve account is pointless and a waste and is impervious to facts and logic - while at the same time seeming to care about the building.

A consulted with counsel and set up a legal vote to expand trustees from 3 to 5. Passed over 75%.

Y and Z refuse to sign paperwork for enacting the change. Now what?

Help attracting birds to my city feeder

I recently got my son an Oddkont smart birdfeeder. He put it on his third floor porch, sitting atop a table, off his city apartment - on the yard side but it’s a busy area with busses and light rail 1/2 block away. The birds keep coming by.

I live nearby across from a subway and have a third floor porch under a tree. It’s been two weeks. Two birds have stopped by.

The feeder is stocked with black sunflower seeds. I hung a suet cake nearby. We put out a water dish that can be perched on. I put piles of seed on the railing. I hear the birds tweet not far away.

I ordered a “water feature” birdbath that will burble.

What else can I do to attract some birdies? .

Is it because I have a cat who sits near the glass sometimes? Humans also hang out there sometimes.

Do I tell client I will be at the same public event?

I am in a community brass band and we attend a lot of public events to play in our community. A client of mine said this week “you know the ——?” And told me she will be doing a specific performance at the end of a specific Pride related event that I attend every year, and play at. This year and last year my GF was with me too. (Not the big Pride parade - that has tens of thousands of people and I don’t concern myself - there is always a chance I will cross paths with clients at large public events. ) My group is in the March/parade part. We may play as people are assembling but not on a stage.

In session I didn’t say anything. I don’t intend to stay long after the march concludes for any speeches or performances. But typically people gather in the park beforehand and I am likely to see friends and acquaintances. I have been in this community a long time.

Anyway, curious how people handle things when you know there is a good chance you will see a client in the community - especially if they have talked about it in a session.

Crepey skin

Hi - I’ve lost weight very slowly. I just checked - I’m down five pounds from a year ago (about 30 lbs down from when I started GLp-1). I hope to lose another 5 more but happy where I am at (no longer obese!)

I love how I now look in clothes!

But I do have loose hanging skin, and it’s the crepey look that kinda grosses me out. I thought it was just aging (mid 50’s) but I think it’s the weight loss.

Wondering about thoughts and experiences? Is there a surgical fix?

Just got a new 2026 RAV4 limited and love it.

But the parking assist seems really crappy.

I’ve played with all the settings. I’ve brought it to quiet streets with 1 or 2 cars. It keeps doing things like: telling me there is no place to park, almost hitting things, trying to get to a space that is not a space and missing things.

What do I need to do to get this car to parallel park without hitting something?
