Help with attracting birds to my feeder

I recently got my son an Oddkont smart birdfeeder. He put it on his third floor porch, sitting atop a table, off his city apartment - on the yard side but it’s a busy area with busses and light rail 1/2 block away. The birds keep coming by.

I live nearby across from a subway and have a third floor porch under a tree. It’s been two weeks. Two birds have stopped by.

The feeder is stocked with black sunflower seeds. I hung a suet cake nearby. We put out a water dish that can be perched on. I put piles of seed on the railing. I hear the birds tweet not far away.

I ordered a “water feature” birdbath that will burble.

What else can I do to attract some birdies? .

Is it because I have a cat who sits near the glass sometimes? Humans also hang out there sometimes.

Do I tell client I will be at the same public event?

I am in a community brass band and we attend a lot of public events to play in our community. A client of mine said this week “you know the ——?” And told me she will be doing a specific performance at the end of a specific Pride related event that I attend every year, and play at. This year and last year my GF was with me too. (Not the big Pride parade - that has tens of thousands of people and I don’t concern myself - there is always a chance I will cross paths with clients at large public events. ) My group is in the March/parade part. We may play as people are assembling but not on a stage.

In session I didn’t say anything. I don’t intend to stay long after the march concludes for any speeches or performances. But typically people gather in the park beforehand and I am likely to see friends and acquaintances. I have been in this community a long time.

Anyway, curious how people handle things when you know there is a good chance you will see a client in the community - especially if they have talked about it in a session.

Crepey skin

Hi - I’ve lost weight very slowly. I just checked - I’m down five pounds from a year ago (about 30 lbs down from when I started GLp-1). I hope to lose another 5 more but happy where I am at (no longer obese!)

I love how I now look in clothes!

But I do have loose hanging skin, and it’s the crepey look that kinda grosses me out. I thought it was just aging (mid 50’s) but I think it’s the weight loss.

Wondering about thoughts and experiences? Is there a surgical fix?

▲ 2 r/ToyotaRAV4+1 crossposts

Just got a new 2026 RAV4 limited and love it.

But the parking assist seems really crappy.

I’ve played with all the settings. I’ve brought it to quiet streets with 1 or 2 cars. It keeps doing things like: telling me there is no place to park, almost hitting things, trying to get to a space that is not a space and missing things.

What do I need to do to get this car to parallel park without hitting something?
