Im 16M and I just moved from another country to live in the UK, i moved with my family to here cuz my dad got a job opportunity.

I had friends in my previous school but the only reason they hanged out with me cuz we had common interests, but i felt like we werent that close cuz i really value intimate/close relationships with friends which i have never experienced.

I just moved to the UK and its a big culture shock in this new school, everyone seems so outgoing and fun and always taking the initiative, are all Brits like this? im generally a quiet person and im afraid of taking risks of going up to people.

Sometimes it gets so bad i just sit in the bathroom in the 20 minute breaks cuz i dont want to look like the lonely loser kid without a friend group.

No one in the school seems like anyone id want to hang out with, except for this girl i sit with in maths class, she was drawing a character from my fav manga, i gathered to courage to tak to her about it and we geeked it off and she was all smiley n shi, but after that it got quiet( awkward silence) and we just went back to solving question

How do you think i should make friends with her?

or just make friends in general?
