Maranthea is doing great in my aquarium!

Okay, so originally it was my mother's plant, but it was in bad shape, so as a last resort I decided to take a cutting from a healthy part and root it in water. In less than a week it already had roots. At first I wanted to replant it, but it's doing so well here, growing new leaves, that I'm going to leave it here. It must be about a month since it's been there

Should I leave the "stuck" Syngonium leaf or touch it?

It's been like this for 3 days, should I touch it or not?

Black dye farm without chunk loader?

I am looking to set up a black ink farm, but I have no idea what profitable model I can make without chunk loader (or at least that it might not be active all the time) that will produce a decent amount of dye. And I also don't know whether to make a squid farm or a wither farm, because although I'm currently on 1.21.10 JAVA I read that something was going to change with the Wither explosions in 26.2. And the server is preparing for its next update. So I'd really like to avoid making an outdated farm.

Good dye farms in version 1.21.10?

I'm going to need a lot of dye and I'm a bit desperate to find good, efficient farms for any type of dye! Do you have any examples, please? Thank you. Except for the white dye, because I already have a powder farm

What is the species?

I've had it for maybe 2 or 3 years, it's outside all year round even in winter, it's grown a lot, do you know what it is?

Monitor puts to sleep and peripherals are not detected at startup

Hello, I just restarted an old PC that hasn't been turned on for at least 2 years, unfortunately I can't get it to work. When I turn it on, the monitor immediately goes into standby mode. It's not the screen itself, as I've tried three different monitors with the same result, and it's not the cables either because I tried with different cables. As a result, I don't even know if Windows is actually starting, since I have no access. Yet the computer tower powers on correctly. I need help, thank you.

I didn't even know lilies could grow so big

They've never been as big as they are this year. (I'm 1.64m tall for reference

At least, there is one positive aspect to the heatwave!

The last photo is from when I first got it month ago. That's crazy. The new leaf is more than twice as big as the last one, which grew last month. And this month it's growing another one just like that!

It stayed on my windowsill throughout the entire heatwave we had in Europe. She certainly enjoyed it.

( I also moved today, which is why the latest photos are elsewhere.)

Am I the only one who thinks Ranchu has become a trend?

I've been wondering about this for a while.

I feel like ranchu have become incredibly popular recently, and I can't help but think that part of that popularity is linked to the visibility of Luke's Goldies' YouTube channel.

First of all, I want to be clear: this is not a criticism of Luke as a breeder or fish keeper. I actively follow his channel and genuinely enjoy his content. He has an impressive setup, clearly takes great care of his fish, gives a lot of useful advice, and has probably helped many people improve their goldfish life.

However, I also feel that the success of his channel has helped put ranchu in the spotlight to the point where they've become the goldfish that everyone seems to want.

And that's where I feel a bit conflicted.

As beautiful as ranchu can be, they're still a variety whose morphology raises ethical questions. People often discuss the welfare concerns associated with dog breeds that have been selectively bred for extreme physical traits, but when it comes to fish, it feels like many people don't really question it.

What concerns me the most is the "trend" effect. The more popular a variety becomes, the higher the demand. And the higher the demand, the more breeding is done simply to produce more fish, sometimes with little regard for health or long-term welfare.

The main point I want to bring up is that I've also noticed more and more beginners entering the hobby already wanting ranchu, often after discovering goldfish keeping through Luke's videos. I wonder whether this contributes to normalizing physical characteristics that, if they existed in other animals, would probably be discussed much more critically.

Again, I'm not saying that nobody should keep ranchu. I'm simply wondering what the consequences of their popularity might be.

Need help understanding how to choose my external hard drive

Basically I'm going to order an external hard drive, but I saw that I needed to check the compatibility with computers to be sure it works. I checked in the task manager (see photo) and it says that I have a port 3.1 and (I think?) a 3.0. But I also read that 3.1 and 3.0 had been renamed... So, is this hard drive model compatible with my PC?

edit : Okay, I don't know why, but Reddit is deleting my screenshots, so here's the link. It's a Lexar 3.2 gen SSD. https://www.amazon.fr/gp/aw/d/B0DFY3K6L9/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A1X6FK5RDHNB96&psc=1

How can a tiny monstera leaf have fenestrations? :')

Basically it's my family' plant, there really isn't much light because the sun never hits the house and before this it was in a much darker corner. Yet it grew this tiny leaf, with fenestrations, whereas even my larger (but still young) monstera has much larger leaves, but without fenestrations.

Tropical storm in Europe for my Monstera

Rain in 36°C temperatures. You could say she's enjoying the weather lately, I leave her on my windowsill all the time, and she's already sprouting a new leaf even though she's just finished hardening the last one.
