Dual Wield - am I the only one?

Just started playing this and got the Dual Wield stance last night and I'm loving it. I love the speed and the fact I can block/parry while attacking. The damage isn't tremendous, guess that's the drawback but figured I can pair it with Double Blade or Crossguard later.

In reading the old threads here it looks like DW gets no love. Everyone uses Crossguard with Blaster or Single. I'm pretty new so I don't really know what the end-game is like, but is DW crap? Can it still be effective later in the game? For what it's worth I'm playing on Jedi Master.

Cutscenes look terrible

I've got a PS Pro and PSSR2 enabled.

The game runs and looks decent on performance mode, however when a cutscene comes on it feels like it reverts to a lower resolution and it looks terrible and choppy. Did I miss a setting or is this everyone's normal experience?

Did they ever come out with a specific Pro patch for this game?

PS Pro - performance or quality?

In older posts and reviews everyone suggested performance mode.

However with PSSR2 upgrade, what is the best mode now? Still performance or quality?

First playthrough - Master or Grandmaster?

This will be my first Starwars game experience ever and I'm pumped for it.

I've played Elden Ring and other games like God of War, Ghost of Tsushima / Yotei all on the hardest difficulties. Some I thought were reasonable, others were a bit frustrating but nothing insurmountable. Parry / dodge games are natural to me.

I'm looking for a challenge, but also want to enjoy the game. Definitely not looking to die against a boss 30 times in a row to figure out his patterns and timings, or even dying often. Getting too old for that.

With that in mind, I was thinking of starting on Master. Would that be suitable given my experience or is Grandmaster totally manageable?

Dell Pro 32 Plus 4K P3225QE

I'm looking for a high quality 32 inch IPS monitor with 100hz refresh for productivity, web surfing and 4k Youtube. I do not play videogames.

On paper this monitor checks all the boxes, but for whatever reason there's hardly any reviews on it. I suspect it's because most people either get the lower-end VA panel version, or the higher-end ultrasharp version (which I'd love but out of my price range).

For those who have this monitor, what's your feedback?

Best cashback credit card?

Looking for another cashback card to supplement our Rogers WorldElite card which gives us 3% on all purchases when applied against our Rogers bills (2% otherwise). It's unbeatable, but our Rogers bills are only $150 a month and we spend way more than that, so the Rogers 3% redemption credit is being wasted. We need another card to spread out the spending.

Our biggest expenses are groceries (like everyone else) and home/auto insurance ($8k annually). I was considering the Scotia Momentum with its 4% on groceries and recurring bills which is best in class, and the cap of $25,000 annually is also best in class. The annual fee doesn't matter as I can deposit the 4-5k balance required to waive it with any bank.

Are there any other strong contenders we should consider?

Cineplex Queensway 70mm screen

Thinking about watching Oddessy on the new 70mm projector at Queensway. Has anyone experienced this? Is it any good? They charge almost $30 for it.

I wanted to watch it at Scotia IMAX but it's constantly sold out so I gave up.

Update - saw the ultra avx screening which was fine. I went into the 70mm theatre just to see what it looked like and it was unimpressive. The ultra avx screen at Queensqay is actually better, avoid the 70mm it's a scam there.

Altar bug?

There's this altar in ishkari plains just east of lost monks camp. It looks like I've already done it, nothing happens when I go there and bow again. However on map it doesn't say completed like all the other altars.

Is this a bug? Or did I not complete it already? I,honestly can't remember

Extra points - Odachi or Yari?

I’m about 30% thru the game. Haven’t killed Oni yet, exploring Ishkaro and Tokachi.

I’ve got katana and dual wield maxed skills maxed and have extra points, to the point where I stopped clearing shrines because there’s no way to save skill points which is silly.

Would you guys invest into Odachi or Yari tree? Or both and where would you stop?

shifting strikes

Is this skill any good?

I invested in it but don't see a big impact. Perhaps I'm doing it incorrectly.

Do you guys use it everytime you switch weapons? What situations?

Yotei honest review

I was a huge fan of GOT, even despite the ubisoft fetch formula, I loved the incredible story of Jin Sakai and the combat mechanics and art.

Yotei has been disappointing. It's literally the exact same game, but with a different protagonist. More importantly the story sucks... Just a standard revenge story here are 6 targets on a map. Nowhere near the depth and emotional pull of the original.

SP made zero effort to innovate or at least add new mechanics. Feels lazy and uninspired.

Anyone else feel the same?

Favorite Abby weapon?

It's probably not a popular opinion but I'm loving the semi automatic rifle. Reminds me of the AK47 from counterstrike. Hunting pistol is also potent AF but with 1 bullet I tend to save it so gets limited use.

No spoilers pls just finished aquarium flashback Day 1.

Which weapons do you guys like?

LOU2 - best skills for Abby?

Just started Abby's half of LOU2

She plays a lot diff than Ellie. I'm guessing stealth is not her strength and she requires a more aggressive approach.

What are the more useful early skills to invest for her? Is momentum any good? Are Shivs must have now that we don't have a knife for stealth kills?

What are the better weapon upgrades?

Thank you!

Which did you enjoy more LOU 1 OR 2?

I'm halfway thru part 2 but so far enjoying it more than part 1. For starters the game feels much longer (in good way) but also combat is more refined and fluid. I love the Dodge mechanic!

Part 1 had some really intense battles especially the one with that guy in the bar where you had to sneak. I'm only on Ellie day 3 but I'm sure part 2 will have equally intense boss fights.

I think I like playing as Joel more but that's about the only drawback.

Thoughts? No spoilers please.

LOU2 - Endure vs stealth speed

I'm On chapter 4 - approaching the aquarium. I've got most of the skill upgrades I wanted and 100 vitamins to spare. First time play through.

Should I use these 100 on endure to survive a fatal blow, or better used on prone movement + stealth kill speed?

I like the idea of endure but it feels overpowered and may ruin immersion for me of slipping up and it's instant death.

What would u guys do?
