I heard washing with hot water dries out relaxed hair and isn't good for relaxed hair but is this true? Has anyone actually experienced severe dryness and breakage using hot water to wash their hair?

Looking to minimize heat damage via straightener and blow dryer and I thought about a Dyson, but does it keep the hair smooth and straight for at least 5 days?

For specifics, the OGX nourishing coconut milk shampoo and conditioner.
