Been looking at downtown Chatham on Google Maps, and it just blows me away how there's so much completely empty space. Parking lots, and also just empty lots with nothing or very little on them.

It's strange that apartment rents are so high when the downtown is basically empty. Lot of boarded up stores, and half the shops that are open seem to be pot or tattoos.

Why does nobody develop anything downtown? A downtown is supposed to be prime real estate.

So I ordered something from Walmart (Canada) last week, and the next day got a message that it was "delayed". But a couple days later, the package arrived at my door.

(The problem might have been that they printed off the address sticker wrong, because the first letter of each line was missing, and another sticker had been added with the full address on it.)

Anyway, on my account the order still says "delayed", and I still haven't been charged for it.

Now, here in Canada, I guess because so many of the Temporary Foreign Workers they hired have gone back to their home country, they just changed the "customer service" system so that you have to go through a crappy computer agent; and if you have a problem like mine you eventually get handed over to the phone system... where you then have to wait at least a half hour to talk to anyone.

Sorry, Walmart, but I'm not taking an hour out of my day to tell you that you delivered me something. I'm sure you'll figure it out in a year, you are after all an almost one trillion dollar market cap company, right?

My landlord has listed the house for sale, it's a duplex. The price seems a bit crazy - easily $100,000 more than what the house would be worth as a single family home. But I looked on realtor.ca and there are a lot of these duplex rentals up for sale at prices $100,000 over what a comparable SFH would normally go for.

Is the house listed for more because the rents are so high now? The house's price is about 14x yearly gross rental income. Or is there some other reason that landlords put their rental homes up for sale at unreasonably high prices?

So (as I tend to do) I've been replaying a previous game from 2200.01.

This time, I was wondering why the heck I'm getting overrun with minerals in the early game. Usually I'm struggling to mine enough, and am unable to build buildings as a result - which is a death sentence for the empire of a popmaxxing tech rusher like me. But even at 2210 now, my minerals overfloweth.

Why?

Turns out this time one of my leaders got the Space Miner trait. It gives a 25% reduction to cost of mining stations. Given each system has maybe 1-6 deposits, that means you save 25-150 minerals per system, and that really adds up in the early game - especially when you're running 2-3 construction ships at once.

This looks like the single most powerful buff you can get in the early game, for those who play wide and expand quickly.

I'm in Ontario. I rent an entire apartment, my landlord's selling the house.

What are the rules for tenants for viewings? Do I have to vacate for every single one?
