How do I keep an introverted older guy interested over text without forcing the conversation?

I’m in my early 20s and I’ve recently started talking to a guy in his late 20s. He’s pretty introverted, and we’ve only really had one proper conversation so far, but it went well and I’d like to get to know him more. He seems interesting and I’d like to build some kind of connection with him, even if not romantic.

The problem is I have no idea how to start another conversation without it feeling random or forced, or what to talk about once I do. I’m also a little conscious of the age gap (almost a decade), because I’m not sure how much we’ll naturally have in common or whether the difference in life stages will make conversation harder.

Not necessarily looking for flirting tips although I definitely wouldn’t complain about those loll. I mainly want advice on how to actually engage him and build some kind of connection over text, especially if he’s naturally quieter/introverted.

For introverted guys in particular, what kinds of messages or conversations actually make you want to keep talking to someone?

Thoughts on using cocktail syrups to flavour ninja creamis?

Looking specifically at the 1883 Maison Routin syrups shown in the images above.

Can these be used instead of vanilla extract in Ninja Creami recipes? Will they provide enough flavour (I also use monkfruit as a sweetener)

+What are your thoughts on the flavours shown, which ones would work well in a Creami, and are there any you'd recommend avoiding?

Filled to the max line, raised all the way to the top after freezing

Recipe:

1 1/2 Cups of blueberries

2 Cups zero sugar sprite

I filled up to under 'Max Fill' and put it in the freezer.

For some reason, it raised all the way to the top.

Can I spin or do I need to wait for it to melt and take half out?

Liver is inflamed + high inflammation

I did a blood test just before I started Retatrutide and there was nothing wrong with my liver, although my inflammation was at 16 (supposed to be around 3-6).

We did all possible testing for inflammation and the possible reasons behind it but we found nothing. The doctor said that it is likely my weight.

I have since started Retatrutide and lost 16 kilograms (35lbs).

Just did a blood test (about four months in on Retatrutide). My inflammation has jumped to 35 and my liver is now inflamed.

Any ideas / similar experiences?

Can centerlink help / Next step if kicked out of home / have to leave for safety reasons with no where to go?

Currently on youth allowance as full time students at university (20 yr old & 18 yr old, siblings).

Is there any way centerlink can help if we have to leave due to safety (from parents) or if we're kicked out?

As we would have to try and find a small place but the prices are crazy and not affordable + we don't have jobs anymore (Ive applied to 70 in the last month and still nothing).

And is it possible to hurry the process (I know Centerlink usually takes a while to sort things out)?

Moving from Business to Cybersecurity. Should I List My (Incomplete, 1 year) Business Studies on LinkedIn?

I studied a year of business before changing direction and now pursuing cybersecurity. Would you add that year of business to your linked in profile or not? How would you present it?

[Personal] Found the ONE + rosacea heat reactive redness experiences

After years of research, trial and error, hundreds of wasted dollars, different dermatologists and doctors, I finally found a derm who listens and that could correctly identify my skin issues + prescribe the right products/ creams.

War is over. My damaged skin barrier has been mostly repaired, my hellish rosacea is finally under control and my acne is calm. I actually want to leave the house now/ go out and do things.

Turns out all I needed was RozeX & Azelaic Acid (dove sensitive bar soap + PanOxyl as cleansers), not a 6-10 step Korean skincare routine. Only cons are I can no longer spend hours skincare shopping & PO bleaches all my towels (so worth it tho).

I also just recieved a prescription for tret (surprisingly easy as compared to stories Ive heard), so really excited to try that.

The one thing that still bugs me is that my rosacea is very reactive to heat. Simply turning on a heat light, a tiny bit of a hot breeze/sun, eating hot foods, or steam (e.g. korean bbq), and my cheeks immediately become obviously red (often dark shades).

Has anyone with rosacea managed to tackle this yet or is it something we have to put up with?

Is the update worth it? 👀

Not asking in terms of the price. Is it somewhat 'fun'? What exactly can you do with it?

Can you apply 3% hydrogen peroxide (store bought) directly to athletes foot?

Not asking for advice on how to cure athletes foot (I've been on a few oral/topical meds/creams for a few years and none have worked).

Ive seen from many posts that people have used 3% hydrogen peroxide and have cured their athletes foot. Although most of them do so through a soak: 1 part hp, 1 part water.

I saw minimal posts that mentioned putting hp onto a cotton ball and applying it straight to the area. Is this safe? I would very much prefer this to a soak.

A degree in Security and Counter terrorism, are there high salary opportunities other than working directly for ASIO, ACIC, etc?

About to enter into a communications degree. Although im very interested in a security & counter terrorism degree. I believe I will genuinely enjoy the content from what I've seen, whereas I have no interest in the communications pathway.

The only issue is there doesnt seem to be high paying opportunities to work in other than the above goverment agencies / any other opportunities in general.

Does anyone know of any job pathways this degree could possibly lead to? Any personal experiences?

+ any influence as to why or why not I should go into my desired degree?

Edit: did not mean to add that tag mb

The cycle of hunger -> nausea

Dont eat much because it makes me nauseous -> extreme hunger pains (never had before I started dosing) -> I eat -> nauseous for the rest of the day or for 2. And then the cycle repeats.

I dont want to eat because of how bad the nausea is, I have to because of how bad the hunger pain is.

Those who have experienced this, what have you done? Any tips?

(Tirated normally, currently at 3mg)

Feel like I've become dull?

I don't want to do anything. I no longer enjoy reading, watching my TV shows, doom scrolling, gaming, or anything really, even music isn't doing it for me as much + I'm realising that I actually get annoyed if I do any of my usual hobbies.

I no longer have a drive to achieve or do anything outside of losing weight. I don't even want to communicate with my friends as much.

My daily schedule is waking up, staying in bed until I'm bothered to eat, gym, back to bed. Studying here and there if I can be bothered enough.

Any one else experiencing this side effect? What causes this / what's the science behind it? (Dullness settled in around 3-5 weeks after my 1st dose, wasn't as bad at first, although it's increasingly getting worse)

Currently at around 2.5 months (titrated from 1mg to 3mg)

How is graduation done?

Is it done per degree? E.g. all bachelor of business students are called out, then all bachelor of social science students are called out, etc etc?

Or does it go by name for the whole thing?

Further can online students attend a graduation ceremony? (Ofc considering they fly over).
